Absolutely ridiculous. I came here for my 21st birthday with my sister who is underage. NOWHERE on the website did they state you had to be 21 to even enter the restaurant. She drove 3 hours to spend my birthday with me and this place couldn't even have the audacity to advertise their establishment correctly. Called and made a reservation multiple weeks ago and they could have easily asked on the phone call or put it on their website. Horrible advertising. read more

Bartenders were ok - they definitely gravitate towards the regulars which is fine but as long as it doesn't delay the service to other patrons. Once I got service she was great, super friendly and helpful. Artichoke dip - lacklustre, it was almost like the ingredients were old or just poor quality because the flavor wasn't there. And the cheese was watery vs thick and creamy. Might need to increase the ratio of parmesan cheese in there. Burger - very good burger, cooked exactly to temp, great bun, very impressed and would definitely order this one again. read more

We had dinner here last night and the food was delicious, staff was friendly, and the piano player was great! We loved the way the salads were prepared, everything was chopped into perfect bite size pieces and perfectly dressed. read more

This steakhouse was amazing. Better than 677 prime! The prime rib was delicious and the rib eye was fabulous. I recommend this to all steak lovers. However be prepared to spend some serious dough. read more

Melissa, the bartender, is Amazing! Great service, delicious food, measured pours. Salmon is heavily salted, which I love, so no need to add more. The prime rib dip was also delicious. Fabulous espresso martinis! If you happen to be in the areas - make sure to stop by! read more

This place has the worst service. They screwed up splitting the bill and couldn't figure out how to divide it 50-50. The waiter was condescending. The hostess was down right rude. The menu was average for a steak house. If we weren't with good friends, I would have walked out. Not worth it. Would NOT recommend. read more

The service was amazing. The server was knowledgable and accommodating. My burger was fantastic and my mom loved the prime rib dip. My wife got a veggie stacked item which she said the tomato sauce really lacked some spices. That it was almost too acidic and could have used some garlic, but other then that everything was clean, although the salt shaker was maybe packed a little too full and wouldn't come out of the shaker. No worries we grabbed a different one! I would reccomd this to anybody. read more

Went to Dukes for the first time, my husband's birthday this evening. The waiter was pleasant, attentive and helped us decide on our meals. The food was excellent. I had the Sea Bass, cooked perfectly, in a clam chowder style sauce, little kneck clams, and fingerling potatoes. The Ribwyw my husband chose was equally delicious. It is a little pricey but I felt it was well worth the price. read more

Just OK, expect better from a steakhouse at a casino, NY strip cooked as I requested but the quality of the meat was not up to par, scallops were not good at all, sub par and way over salted, oysters were good as well as calamari read more

New restaurant located in the new casino- no smoking which is a big plus for me and my family. Food was not even close to what I would expect from a high end steak house. Service was mediocre at best. When I complained, the manager said, "sorry" then gave us a bill with "0$". So, I guess it is worth another try in the future. read more

Dukes is disgusting! I've been to Duke's a handful of times since they opened, and it is the most disgusting tasting steakhouse I've ever been too! Food is of the lowest quality, probably comes in all frozen from Sysco! I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody! Go to Johnny's in the casino, great pizza, and pasta. However the restaurant looks nice, and the staff are friendly. But that's it! Don't know why River's can't get this steakhouse up to par like all the other food options at the casino. Oh and the only good thing on the menu is the deserts, since they are made out of house, by Villa Italia. I have the worst taste in my mouth right now, from the food! read more

Over rated, Over priced! Every item ala carte, never asked how anything was, from cocktails to our meal. When the waiter walked away, it took forever to get his attention, in fact we had to flag him down to get our bill. we went for a special occasion and left very disappointed. read more

Let me start by saying we had a 150$ free meal. We have been here for over 90 minutes now with only 6 tables full. We have yet to receive our main courses and no one really seems to care. Everyone is very nice, but we will definitely skip coffee and desert as we may have to wait until the morning to get it. Makes it difficult to enjoy the food. read more

I would like to thank The Manager for screwing up my wife's 40 th Birthday . Called earlier in the night to inform them of her birthday. Requested a special dessert. Was told they had a small birthday cake. Great . Thank you. Whatever it costs . After Dinner. Nothing. No cake whatsoever. I am so ANGRY I Will NEVER be back. This is on top of waiting 15 minutes for them to bus a table, Yet 7 people are hanging around out front. 7 People. Poor management here. read more

Pricey, but worth it! Food was absolutely amazing. Group of 4..... all ordered steak plus sides.... Utica greens are my absolute fave and they were delicious here, just a little on the spicy side. The lobster Mac n cheese is to die for!!!! Definitely worth the money!!!! read more

The food was excellent. It tasted amazing. Presentation was ok. We visited for restaurant week. The chop salad was meh. The sautéed chicken with mash potatoes... tasted amazing. The decor and feel of the restaurant felt very classy. The prices of the meals on the regular menu were on the high end, serving surf and turf and filet mignon, to name a few. With that being said, I would've expected the service from the wait staff and bartender to be superb. Sadly it was not. The wait staff was not very attentive and I basically had to beg the bartender to cash me out (it was by no means crowded). Unacceptable if you are charging close to $30 dollars a plate. Fix the service and maybe I'll consider returning. read more

Phenomenal meal and service. Always accommodating. Top steakhouse in the area, highly recommended and worth repeat visits. Nadia is an excellent server who is dedicated to your satisfaction. She is upbeat, efficient, very professional and can make all the difference in your dining experience. The drinks and food were excellent and left nothing to be desired. The wedge salad is huge, shareable and probably the best I've had with a decadent dressing I'm still dreaming of. Minestrone soup was rich, hearty and loaded with vegetables. Let me talk about the Prime Rib Duke's cut, WOW! The cut was substantial, thick, juicy, so tender and flavorful it was beyond delicious! I don't always go for this cut of beef, but next time at Duke's it will be hard to think about anything else. Special was Lamb Lollipops with bacon wrapped scallops and risotto. This dish was also delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. Carrot Cake, ordered to take home with dinner leftovers, was sweet, yummy and also shareable. This restaurant is definitely worth going to over and over again. read more

Bread was terrible. There are so many par bake options now there is no excuse to have terrible bread. Just put out real butter, that's what people like not whipped with herbs. The crabcakes were not good. What's wrong with one good jumbo lump crab cake with a mustard or remoulade sauce keep it simple stupid. My fillet was lukewarm but was cooked to temp. The Bernis sauce, terrible. The asparagus are to big they have no flavor. The best part of the meal were the french fries. Take your executive chef to Morton's maybe you all can learn something. read more

Front staff ignored us for 10 minutes..thewn had to check in the kitchen to see if "the kitchen could accommodate us at 6:30 pm Saturday night. No we were not on candid camera..That is the usual if you read the other reviews on Trip advisor. Front people(Hostess) rude and uncaring..Told us 30 minute wait with 10 4 tops available within our site . Would rate ZERO but no Zero star available. My wife and I stayed overnight at casino and went to dukes for dinner. First they tried to seat the two of us at table for six I said NO. After being seated the waitress came about ten minutes later with drinks and asked for our order. She didn't tell us the specials - I know there were specials because I heard the waiter at the table next to us explained the specials. We ordered - my wife a ceasar salad and a filet medium. The salad never came - so I said something. It came with meal. Filet was very rare. I order blackened prime rib and potato medium It came out raw and was so tough and full of tendons I only ate half. Being blackened it was very spicy but my water glass was never refilled. My wife and I go out just about every night since we are retired. For $100 meal I expected a lot better. Don't waste your money going there. Terrible food. Awful service read more

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Dukes on Saturday. I ordered the 20oz. Kansas City Strip and my girlfriend had the Prime Rib. My girlfriend likes her Prime Rib rare. Both cuts were cooked perfectly. My medium rare KC Strip was juicy inside and had a nice char on the outside. The mashed potatoes were creamy; however, the star of the side dishes was the charred cream corn. Great texture and taste. Perfect side for steak. The food was outstanding; however, the best part of our meal was the service. A server named Nadia waited on us. She was attentive yet not overbearing. We didn't have to ask for refills on our drinks. She kept track of them. She had a very positive energy, and a friendly personality. You could tell that Nadia cared about giving her customers a great dining experience. We lost at the casino, but still had a great time because of Nadia!!! read more

First off it's at the Rivers casino. I was disappointed in the food choices and being the only sit down/wait service available I took it. The food was average nothing great but not bad either. Price for 4 w/o drinks with tip $80. The staff was friendly but they all seemed overwhelmed. That is something I felt was ok since it just opened. read more

My husband and I have eaten at all kinds of restaurants and this experience was probably one of the worst. I made us reservations for 8:15 pm, we walked up to the hostess station, gave our reservation and were curtly told that there was not a table in the dining room for us but we could sit at a table on the casino floor....unacceptable. We took the table we were offered because we were starving and we were still looking forward to a nice dinner. That never happened. We ordered drinks and a charcuterie board and our entree's. The charcuterie board came outa d I'm pretty sure they just ordered cheese from the local grocery store and threw it on a board and sent it out, nothing special. I asked the server where the restroom was and he said they didn't have one, I would have to use the casino restroom....what kind of restaurant doesn't have a restroom??? An hour and forty minutes later, still no entree's...every other table that had been seated after us had their food brought to them. We told the server that we were frustrated and disappointed and we were leaving, just to bring the check for the board and drinks. 15 minutes after that a manager came over and said "Oh sorry, it's restaurant week and we're busy." Not my problem. They need to have better management, better communication with the customers and put in a freaking restroom for Christ's sake!! Such a disappointment!!! read more

Took the wife here for the fireworks show, it was a huge disappointment. Waitress took 15 minutes to even realize that we were there. The French onion for returned tasted watery and sad. The lobster bisque was so-so and the ceaser salad was big but that's all it offered. Huge pass. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was because we had to switch our reservation to a later time because hotel couldn't check us in on time. read more

The Food at Duke's was truly "over the top" - every bite - but even more so was a personal experience. The two individuals working at the bar, Deanna and Ed, had no idea of the gift of comfort they gave me. My husband of 49 years recently passed away, that night was the first time I had eaten out alone and choose not sit at a table but at the bar. This staff did not know any this till I was done and expressed my sincerest thinks for their service and told them why. The professional pleasantness, conversation, recommendations - was given not only to me but I observed how they interacted with others. For instance, a patron came to the bar to order the 1/2 price drink special, Ed did not just tell her it wasn't available at the bar but onlyon the floor - he walked around the bar asked the woman to show him where she was sitting so he could get a waitress for her. There may be others on your staff that mirror Deanna and Ed but what they gave me that night deserves recognition and thanks. read more

A little pricey but the food was solid. Very good steak and excellent sauce. The atmosphere is a little odd because of being in the casino, but they do their best to separate you for the slot-machine crowds. Wine list is solid and service was very good. read more

We were there for lunch, around 1:00, my brother and his wife had a NY strip with fries, so tender and delicious. I had the grilled salmon over vegetable risotto, I loved it. The waiter was so nice, and described some of the food to us. You are able to use your players points toward the check too. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, very relaxing. Pleasantly surprised by the first rate service and menu at Dukes Chophouse! NY Strip and Lobster Mac and Cheese were delicious.

Food here is fantastic. The portions are much bigger then what I was expecting. The service was top notch as well.

Not usually a fan of places in a casino, steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Calimari was a great starter and our waiter Joe was attentive and always there when needed, but not hovering. Having lived in NYC for a decade, I know good steak, this is well above what I expected. read more

I have to give it one star because I could not give a zero. Made a reservation on open table, asked to sit in the dining room on the reservation but was told we could not be accommodated because they were booked with reservations. It was 4:45 and the dining room and rest of the restaurant was completely empty except for 1 guest. What???? The place looks like a diner but the menu presents the prices of a fine dining steakhouse. Don't try to act like something you are not, and maybe think about accommodating those who's bill would equal a weeks salary. Locals beware! read more

2nd time eating at Dukes....2 yrs ago EVERYTHING was outstanding....last night was disappointing. Service was good. The fried lobster app, the panzanella salad, sides of mashed potatoes and charred cream corn, porcini mushrooms, and side of pan fried sea scallops to make the steak entree surf n turf......were all good. BUT, the 38 oz. $75 prime porterhouse steak ( the star of the restaurant)....and it comes from a supposedly elite butcher from Chicago area ( The Stockyard)...was not very good!!! It was gray, no color or crust on it....it had no flavor, and was tough. I'm kinda thinking it wasn't from the Stockyard, or a prime steak at all. I can get a better steak from other local steak restaurants....for 2-3 times cheaper ( Texas Roadhouse, Delmonico's, Barnsider)....or get one and cook it myself. Thankfully I had a $50 gift card and $100 xmas bonus saved for this, to put towards the $202 bill with tax and tip...and only water to drink. Probably won't be back....just NOT worth the $$$$$. read more

The restaurant is "meh" at best! The food is way overpriced and the service is just fair. You never forget that you are in the casino because of the noise and activity level. The food quality is inconsistent and the cocktails are poor. I honestly think it's only in business because it's IN the casino! There are certainly many better options for dining in downtown Schenectady and I would recommend you seek them out. read more

This is a strange update. Earlier this year (2018), Duke's really took a step back (especially with seafood like oysters and crab legs which was often bad/rotten and not fresh to the point of spitting it out bad). However, to someone's credit (and genius!) a new chef was brought in, a totally revamped menu and new creative/original dishes were created, quality control clearly improved, and the place is now world-class amazingly good. If anything, they actually charge too little and give too much! Seriously, an incredible turnaround and very impressive success story! In terms of favorites - oysters (with sweet shaved lime ice!), tempura lobster, crab cocktail, hearts of palm salad, and lobster chowder are beyond delicious (and those are just starters!). The decor is fantastic and on nights with live music it's a shame they end it at 10pm vs. 11pm for late reservations, as it's a great feature and always high quality. Having trouble only going once a week as I want to try everything on the menu (most things more than once!). Outdoor dining is a nice feature too, so plan to sit out there next time. read more

What an outstanding job by the Rivers and Dukes staff on the Easter Brunch. What a beautiful set up in the Duke's restaurant making for a more comfortable environment vs. the normal banquet setting for a typical brunch. The variety of offerings, from the omelet station to grilled scallops, from multiple carving stations with every variety of selections to lobster benedict to amazing deserts the preparation was beyond compare. It would take you all day to list all the great selections and all day to try them. The selections were beautifully prepared and presented and overwhelming in selection. Food stations were kept fresh and full throughout and servers were on hand to describe preparation of dishes and assist in every way possible. Table service was outstanding. Personal and constant. Again not a typical banquet setting when you see your server once or maybe twice during the entire meal. A true pampered experience. Certainly the announced cost of the event $50/person I sure was off putting to many; however once you walked into Duke's were seated with a free mimosa, observed the wide selection and provided with the most outstanding service; you realized this truly was a unique experience and most certainly worth the $50/person for truly one of the most unique experiences in the capital district. read more

Food was OK, but we had a 7:15 reservation and were not served our entree until after 9:30. We had to collar a passing waiter. When it finally came, things were missing and the steaks were not as requested. Despite the fact that we had to wait 30 minutes for water and had to find a waiter on our own, the manager did not make sure we were served in a timely manner. They did comp the meal, but it didn't help the fact that we had brought out of town friends there for a nice experience. read more

Amazing Lunch We were greeted by a friendly hostess. The booth was spacious and clean. The waiter came right over and and went over the drink specials. We received free samples of the beer on tap. We will definitely return as this was one of the better meals we have had and the best service we have had in the capital district. read more
