Poached lobster Alfredo over pappardelle noodles. Absolutely delicious!
    Lillian S.

The food is fantastic. Fresh, quality ingredients, prepared with care and thought. The drinks are delicious as well!!! Our server Taylor made great recommendations and checked on us but was never intrusive. I would recommend this gem for anyone who wants good quality food prepared with care.

Rustic pretzel board with beer cheese, stone-ground mustard, and orange fig jam

We had been wanting to try Stacy's Scratch Kitchen since we saw so many amazing pics posted on Facebook. So, we made a reservation for this past Saturday to go with another couple, and we were not disappointed. We all started with a unique cocktail. I had the apple Manhattan, and it was delicious. The bartender was generous with the pours, and the flavors balanced perfectly, a true fall treat. We ordered the warm pretzel board to share. Clearly, the pretzel was homemade, salty and rustic, served with quality mustard, interesting fig jam, and beer cheese. I ordered the filet au poivre, while my girlfriend got a lobster roll. Definitely pricey for Broadalbin, a whopping $59 for the steak, I must say it was a perfect medium on a bed of smashed potatoes and flavorful roasted vegetables. The lobster roll had large chunks of sweet meat. My husband ordered the prosciutto-wrapped salmon, and his was delicious as well. We were seated in a corner. The restaurant was a bit dark, but we asked the server to light a candle. The service was solid as well. If you are planning on a Friday or Saturday night, you need to call for a reservation. This is a quality gem close to home if you are looking for upscale in the Amsterdam/B-P area.

Dessert was soooooo good. A salted gelato spice cake.

Good appetizers, and pretty much anything but steak. Steak is too pricey to not own a meat thermometer. Lobster roll would be better hot.

I walked around to check out some of the other spaces outside of the restaurant area and I love that they have kept so many of the historical facets and spaces alive. In the meantime, I really had no idea that a "taco Tuesday" in Broadalbin would actually be something to talk about! First thing to note is portion size. Gigantic. We all had leftovers. A LOT of leftovers. And while it might not be real "traditional" Mexican food, the quality was excellent. Food was nice and hot; our server was very friendly. The only glitch we hit: the iced tea tasted terrible. Not sure what happened there, but the rest of the meal made up for that. I have no idea what the rooms are like or how it is as a hotel, but if you live nearby, you might want to stop by for a nice meal. We could tell that lots of regulars go there. Hopefully whoever the new owners are will keep up the quality of food.

I requested to sit at the chef's table because I really do like to see what's going on in the kitchen and our reservation is at 7:15 and we arrived a half hour early and we're able to be sat so that was nice. We were greeted by one of the servers in the restaurant and then shortly after another came by and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water and that our server would be there with us in a second. It took a little bit longer for our server to come by and he took our drink orders. The line chef started to realize that our server was taking quite a while so we asked us what he wanted him to start so that he can relay it to our server when he got around to us, and I thought that was very nice and great that he recognized that we were waiting for quite a while. Our server finally came back with our drinks and asked what we wanted to get started and we told him that they already started our appetizers. He also didn't come back for quite a while after that and he finally asked us what we wanted for dinner and he didn't ask how the food was or anything. He just said OK cool and put in our food order. When we got our actual entrée, I had the New York strip steak and my husband had the scallops and they were very good. We ordered those entrées because the line chef said they were good and we wouldn't be disappointed and we were not. Our server finally came back around after everyone else buster plates and asked if we wanted anything for dessert and we already made up our mind what we wanted. I ordered the coconut rice pudding and my husband ordered the pistachio cheesecake. Both of those were also very good highly recommend them if you have room at the end of your meal. Our server then came back with our bill and just randomly said he took off one of our desserts because of the weight which was nice but he didn't really acknowledge anything else. We thought it was very odd but also we were happy about that. This restaurant was very good and I think the staff is very in tuned to what's going on in the restaurant if something is not as it should and they communicate to others if they need to start food for people or accommodate other people's needs so that's the only reason that I'm giving it a 4 because the server we had wasn't great but the food and everything else was awesome.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.

She rolled her eyes and asked me what was wrong with it, I said it tastes bad and watered down even though my ice haven't melted, it was simply the drink itself and she goes I'll bring you one without ice then with attitude when u wasn't even done talking then goes complaining loudly to to another worker inside about it right in front of me for a solid 5 minutes. I clearly don't want the same bad drink, why would I want it again without ice? Then she comes out with the same drink and I said I didn't say I wanted a new drink of the same drink, she goes "then what do you want?" And I said I don't want anything, clearly annoyed by her terrible customer service & rudeness. Then she takes both cups and chucks it out in the container with more attitude and walks off. She ended up not removing the iced tea off the bill, when I clearly had her take it away after I did not enjoy it. For those of us that didn't ask for a drink, we weren't even provided water after being seated for 20+ minutes. This is an irregular occurrence from my experiences dining & working in hospitality for more than 8 years myself. Once customers are seated, you simply provide water without being asked. I asked for ice water for all of us & she came out with ice water for half of us. I understand the restaurant got busy and you have other tables to tend to, however, you should finish listening to our requests before walking off again. As for food, I enjoyed the bbq chicken Mac. It was a great dish overall & I would order it again. The calamari & fries were also good. Great view of the reservoir from outdoor patio.

It's a fairly small space so definitely make reservations if you're planning on going during busier dinner hours. Service was decent - it was a little confusing and disjointed at times but I chalked that up to some inexperience (the server seemed a bit green) and that it's a fairly new restaurant. We had read somewhere that it was small plates - more like tapas...but then was explained that it's "family style". This is what caused said confusion at the table since "family style" to the four of us meant large, sharable portions. So, we just ordered a bunch of stuff in waves since we didn't really know how much food we were going to need. Some items arrived quickly, others took a very long time. Standout dishes to me were the Brussels sprouts and the apple cobbler dessert (which I just had a little taste of). I found some of the accompanying crackers odd - I think they were Ritz brand or something like that? We did request a few gluten free crackers and were brought a few. The swordfish was on the dry side - that's a tricky protein to get right. The fried chicken was served as cutlets - so some of the items were more difficult to share vs. others. The shrimp salad cups were somewhat unremarkable and a bit too loaded with mayo (in my opinion). The shishito peppers were nice - I think I was the one at the table that enjoyed those the most. We did linger at our table for a long time - a combination of wait times and good conversation with friends. We never felt rushed or pressured to leave (there wasn't a wait or line for tables). All in all, we had a nice time at Cleome and will likely give it another try at some point - now that we know what to expect

My burger unfortunately didn't arrive until after everyone else at the table was done with their meals. Oh bother.... it tasted meh and it's clear they are using a very low fat ground beef which made the burger more like a tasteless hockey puck. Still, everything else was wonderful and the background music was audible and made the experience even better. The Egg nog cocktail we had at another visit a few days before was delish. Despite my burger, we were please with our experience. I can only hope that they reconsider their low fat ground beef for something a little more tasty and juicy. Recommended.
