This review is exclusively for lunch :) Stumbled upon this dive bar as I was looking for lunch along the boardwalk, and boy was I taken by surprise!! This bar is located right next to the boardwalk so it's easy to get to from most resorts in the area. It isn't the cleanest looking place but drinks aren't expensive and their burgers are pretty darn good. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed eating here. It was definitely your typical bar food, but it was really good. The prices were very reasonable for what you get. Our service was great as well. My wife and I wanted a low key night on the boardwalk with some great food and Duffy's made that happen. Walked the boardwalk one night, with a group of friends, we wanting to bar hop. Came across Duffy's. It sounded like a fun place to check out. We could hear the music playing from outside. And we could see people dancing inside, through the windows. The entertainment seemed great, which is what dragged us in! Got carded outside, walked in to pay the cover, noticed it was still a smoking bar. So we left. A smoke filled bar is not a place for us. Which is why I gave it only 2 stars. We are originally from New England, and up there you haven't been able to smoke indoors since I was just a young kid. So it's odd that some places still allow it down here. read more

We stopped in because it looks like a little dive (my favorites) it was a little country bar on one side where we sat and it looked like a bigger open side on the other. They played country music the whole time and my wife enjoyed I think every song. Place seemed to be kept up with. I had a burger and fries ordered how I like it and my wife had the cheese fries. The order came out in a decent time (the burger had to cook). During our wait the waitress kept us stocked up without hesitation, she was very friendly and in top of things. Food was good, thays what a burger should be like nothing skimpy but not ridiculously huge either, beers were cold and cheap during happy hour. Overall it was a good experience I would recommend it to anyone walking buy and hungry, good stop away from the normal chains. read more

I just left there a hour ago. My wife ,stepson and three children. The food was absolute garbage.The buffalo shrimp plate was a heated fried shrimp with a buffalo sauce squirted on top of it. The two kids hotdogs were dried our dogs on a bun. They looked like they had sat on one of those hotdog rollers for hours and then put on a bun. My wife's Duffy dog like a chili cheese dog fell apart in her hand when she picked it up totally disgusting.My step sons burger had bacon on it ,he said the bacon was like rubber. My wife ordered a drink Bloody Mary , it was served in a plastic small Dixie cup. A water size small Dixie cup . I have never seen such a small sized cup to serve a drink in ever. I almost ordered a beer glad I did not . I saw on the next table over a couple received the same size cup for a draft beer. I give this place only one star because at least the Server was good. 58.00 bill for I guess about 7.00 worth of actual food ,pre-made heated food. I left 20%for the server the only thing good.Don't eat here if your just looking for a place to eat as a tourist while walking around the boardwalk. A friend and I went to visit a buddy in Myrtle Beach last week. While walking the Boardwalk we seen this place and really got a kick out of the front of the bar. We decided to go in and loved the place. Its nothing fancy, just a laid back place with a really friendly staff. We hit it off right away with the bartender and we felt right at home. We ordered a few dogs and a burger and they were delicious. They also have a cool juke box with really good tunes on it. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town. read more

Ugh! I'm so sad to have wasted my lunch at this place. The sign says "warm beer, lousy food and bad service" and while the beer was cold and the service was fine, the sign was right about the food. We only came because there were some good yelp reviews for it. I ordered the "hillbilly philly" which is outside my normal type of order but the description sounded soooo good. It wasn't. It was supposed to be shaved steak with fried green peppers and onions served on a hoagie roll and yes, I guess those were the ingredients plus about a 1/4 of nasty fat oozing out of it. Now you'd think that's make it flavorful but it was nasty. Like eating shavings that'd been sitting on a greasy griddle all day. Don had the hot dog. How can you ruin that, right? But it also was flavorless. Yelpers ... you let me down on this one! I'm not sure how good any of the other places on the boardwalk are, but read the sign at Duffy's and heed the warning! read more

First of all this place was THE MOST RACIST place I've ever been to!! To start, the bouncer only checked our ID's. Mind you there happened to be a group of Caucasian men in front of us that didn't go through the same procedure. Then, once we sat at the bar the bartenders were just talking as if they didn't see us. Once someone had to say something THEN that's when they offered us a menu. I specifically asked for extra crispy wings that came back slimey and barely done. They had tip jars sitting out on the table. Every jar was almost full except ours, which only contained ONE $20 bill, and the bartender came over and cleared only our jar out! Once we decided to leave the bartender had the nerve to say "people like you never leave tips" MIND YOU we SPECIFICALLY tipped their sorry asses in the JAR. This is a classic myrtle beach relic. It is old and it doesn't have anything impressive to show other then being part of the Bowery where Alabama first started. We visit myrtle beach several times a year and this is always one place we agree to go to. We always order the wings with fries and they have always been fantastic. 10 wings, fries are under $9. Appetizers are also very good. You are promptly greeted once you walk in and you feel right at home. They have some of the best service on the boardwalk. Pool tables located at the back. Again nothing super special other then they are always consistent on their service and quality. Also even though it's a bar, during lunch I would say it could be family friendly. I have never seen anything I wouldn't want a small child around. Few people having a beer and rarely anyone smoking. Can't say the same after dark. read more

If you are looking for classy this is not the place but if you are looking for a great burger or wings this is spot on! A game of pool. A couple of beers or drinks and dinner. But I'll say this: Best burger in my memory over at least the last 5-10 years. Hands down. Fresh (not frozen) high quality angus beef cooked PERFECTLY (medium rare for me, thank you) crispy edges, grill fried. Love it! Open friendly bar with delicious food. Loved our waiter/ bartender, he was awesome and funny. Great music and local crowd, would definitely come back. I especially loved the fire alarm burger, it was cooked perfectly, and my boyfriend like his Mahi strips (though our Mac n cheese bites were a bit strange). This is a typical sports bar however the staff was very nice and the food was delicious I ordered that 1 pound burger which was huge I could not even finish eating it I would return again because they have live entertainment throughout the week they have pool tables available it's in a central location to everything on the boardwalk read more

It's a dive. It's filled with smokers. It's got nasty bathrooms and the beer selection is loaded with miller and budweiser labels. However, we did find the hidden gems. They were open Christmas Day!!! Woot woot. After 2 beers the deep fried pickles hit the spot. Being the surly bar that they are, the burger was cooked how they wanted it to be cooked (i.e. No asking for medium rare) but it was tasty and for well done was still juicy. Giving it 4 stars solely for the deep fried pickles bc they were delish. Just the right amount of breading and the perfect portion size. Thanks for being open on Christmas Day!!! read more

The Bowery is just one of those places you crave to return to every time you visit. Hands down the best burger in Myrtle and one of the best I've had just about anywhere. The patty's are fresh and hand pressed to order. All the toppings are fresh as are the fries that are cut each day. Cold cans of beer and a fantastic happy hour make this one of our favorites! Just an old school bar. Good bar food. The pepper jack Mac and cheese bites are really good! I had a burger, was cooked just right topped with crispy onion rings bacon and BBBQ sauce. A good burger. My mom had the hillbilly philly, she really liked it said it was a good flavorful sandwich cooked fresh. My GF had the hot dog that had just about everything you could want on a hot dog. The normal condiments along with special guests chili cheese and jalapeños. She said it was good but nothing crazy special. We all had the fresh cut fries and and they where really good. If your going to the Bowery, I'd say swing in to Duffy's before the band gets started and put some food in your gut before walking next door and pounding some Bowery brew and gettn your country on! read more

Fun little seaside bar! Stopped here because I was desperate for a COKE and not Pepsi, which seems to be what most Myrtle Beach restaurants serve. Husband had hot wings (HOT!) and I had the BLT. Both were delicious. French fries were soggy and sad, though. Atmosphere was neat, with dark lighting, funky bar decor, and pool tables in the back. Definitely a pub feel. Prices not bad at all. First of all, yes it is a dive bar. Great little bar for drinks and food. The bar tenders are great. Brea, Russell, Spitty and Ishy are friendly. Tonight I had Spitters wings with fresh cut fries. My fiance had Lee's Chicken Parm, grilled. Everything was hot and fresh. The hand cut fries are the best in town. I have dietary restrictions and they were more than happy to accommodate my needs. Their burgers are fresh and cooked to order. There is a live band 6 nights a week from March through November on the The Bowery side. We have had a great time on that side also. read more
