This is the place right next to the Bowery bar. The food comes from here It was a week day so it was not too busy. Sat at the big table outside. Thomas was on point and took great care of us and made great suggestions. We got a couple shareables, fried pickles and fried cheese. Both really tasty and lots of pickles! For mains I got the old flame hot chicken. Really good! Nice hot sauce. Deb had the fingers. Really good too. Solid spot for a good meal.

I was a little hesitant about going to Duffy'a considering their slogan is "warm beer, lousy food, bad service". While the service side of that was partially true (bartenders were 50/50 on whether they were nice & friendly or taking the "bad service" joke as a serious recommendation), the atmosphere was that of a cool dive bar. The pickle chips were outstanding (anyone who knows me knows that this is a high compliment); they had the perfect ratio of pickle to crunch, weren't greasy, and came with a slightly spicy dipping sauce. They also came in a huge portion which was perfect for sharing. The bar also had a wide variety of light summery drinks (I opted for the nutrl seltzer), and the pool tables in the back were fun to play on! If you're looking for a cool dive to visit while in Myrtle, I would recommend it, especially with its location right on the boardwalk! Food: A- Drinks: B Service: B- Atmosphere: B+

I claim false advertisement. I saw a sign that said hot beer, lousy food and bad service so had to try it. They lied. The staff were great, and so was my burger. You can't go wrong with onion rings, BBQ sauce and bacon on a burger. The hand cut fries were good too. My wife and daughter both liked the big daddy cheeseburger. And my other daughter and my son liked their smokey BBQ wings. It was neat seeing all the history and the photos on the wall. I don't drink so I can't vouch for how hot the beer was. Our waitress said the beer's still hot, so 1 out of 3 ain't bad, which made me laugh. I appreciate the advice on places to check out during our stay. I wouldn't mind coming back to hear the bounty hunters play live. This place is definitely worth a stop. And volleyball fans, check out their courts. It's just off the boardwalk near the corner across from the Ripley's museum.

Nice place. Funny decor. The service is fantastic! We were greeted right away at the door by the nicest gentleman. Very attentive. Answered all our questions. Was very knowledgeable. Very pleasant. Escorted us right away to our table and made several recommendations for drinks. Which we followed and they were great. Only downtick was the burger I ordered was touted as "5 alarm" but was more like 1 alarm. It tasted good but was definitely not what I thought I was ordering. But overall, would recommend.

Ordered fried shrimp for delivery. It came with fries. The fries were soggy and there was no ketchup. The shrimp was ok. The salad was ok, iceberg lettuce, chopped red onion and chopped tomato. The water was from The Bowery. It had a Confederate flag on it. I was told it was a collectible! Check out the picture. Delivery guy came early which is great. (I heard the location is good but due to Covid pandemic I got delivery.)

Dropped in for a little appetizer to hold us over till dinner. They chili cheese fries were great!! Hand cut fries smothered with cheese and chili. We order the fried pickle also and they were just okay!! They were serving some righteous orders of onion rings and massive burgers to other tables. Love me some bar food. Their motto is Hot Beer, Lousy Food and Bad Service

Its true that their employees are vaping and smoking, right into your drinks! And I just ordered fries - were not great either - very very oily. If other places were open nearby, I will not go here again.

Our attentive bartender.

I should start by acknowledging that i love dive bars. Duffy's qualifies. Drinks were good, bartenders attentive, didn't try the food (but when was the last time you saw "fried baloney sandwich" on a menu?). Note that smoking IS allowed.

Was an experience for me to actually sit down and have a beer and see some interesting people watching. The. Meeting a local bar owner and headed to his place after last call.

If you like the dive bar scene this place is for you. I went with a friend who was craving a burger. It was recommended to us. I wasnt hungry. But when we got there their soda thing wasnt working (I was DD). I got a corn dog and later their soda thing was working so I got a Sprite. Drinks come in styrofoam or plastic cups. The fries were greasy or hard. I will say the burgers are huge 1/2 lb burgers. Dont look for anything special here other than its Alabama's house band spot. Memorabelia all over, pool tables and just a locals dive spot with burgers.

We went here to hang out and have a few drinks! We ordered Macaroni bites and they were good. The beers were cold and the drinks were mixed well. The bartender who I'm going to call Pops was AWESOME! The place is clean and the atmosphere is laid back (which is what I look for).

Checking out another new place for me.

We went and had a drink and appetizers. They were good but not really anything special that you couldn't get someplace else.

Great food, beer and prices. If you sit outside you will have to weather the smokers.

Hated paying to park. But the server and host were awesome. The crab legs were ok about a three on a five scale. Just not flavorful or loaded The tomatoe bisque was flavorful and the fish and chips were great the fish was light and tasty. The slaw was a train wreck. Whoever thought to make it savory instead of sweet missed the mark. The flavors of the slaw clashed with the rest of the plate. The fish was tasty and the chips were seasoned well and plentiful. We could return here and feel ok with it.

There was also live music the evening we were there which was just lovely. Steven, our server shared the evening specials and was very attentive to us throughout our meal. Our table enjoyed delicious margaritas, the Autumn Power salad - fresh spinach, dried cranberries, fresh apple slices, and a refreshing dressing. The crab legs were delicious, two clumps with butter and lemons. We also had the shrimp and fries- 8 large shrimp lightly breaded with shoestring fries. Our land lover enjoyed the Reel burger- a juicy combination of chuck and brisket cooked to order. The bun was toasted and held up well to the burger. Overall the experience was very enjoyable. While the food was good. It was the excellent atmosphere and service that took the experience over the top for us.

We were promptly seated and drink orders were taken. The waiter reappeared about 15 mins later with drinks and cheese rolls and took the table's order. We settled on the Aspen family meal which consisted of 2 meats and 4 sides. We chose smothered pork tenderloin and fried chicken along with mac 'n cheese, collard greens, fried okra and candied yams. Fried chicken was awesome, crispy, with an assortment of dark and white meat pieces. We were looking for a knife because of the pork tenderloin and realized you don't need it. It was that tender. You could cut it with a fork and it too was awesome. Everyone raved about all the side items except the mac & cheese it was a bit on the bland side so it was not our favorite. There was no need for a refill of any of the food. The first round was very ample sized and everyone left very satisfied. And if I have a bit of feedback, our waiter was not attentive unlike the waitress serving the tables in our same area. He was didn't bother to come back and see if we needed a refill on any of the drinks or the food. The only disappointing thing was they no longer offer you a small sample size dessert to finish up your meal. It's been a while since I've dined here so I'm not sure how long that change has been in place. However, we understand the food industry continues to be impacted by the current economy. Overall, the restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. It's a nice place to feed a large family who hates buffets.

Will say the area, the location, the draw and the atmosphere is fantastic, but not the food. Our family left disappointed by the overall quality of the meal, particularly given the establishment's reputation and the high price point. The cost for 4 people exceeded our expectations an amount that felt disproportionate to the overall experience provided. The service was adequate. Our waitress was courteous, but could have kept up on our drink refills. The food fell significantly short of our heightened anticipation. Dishes arrived at the table within minutes of ordering, far quicker than would be consistent with individual dish preparations. This is served family style with options of your main courses and sides. The okra was good, but had some very hard pieces. I bit down on one that was so hard it could have broken a tooth. Green beans were decent, but extremely salty. The creamed potatoes were the best thing in my opinion and we were able to be served both the white & brown gravy's. The fried chicken was so dry and uneatable, with extremely minimal flavor and texture that did not meet standard expectations for Southern-style preparation. We realized after the fact: you can request the chicken parts. The macaroni & cheese tasted mushy offering little depth of homemade character. The biscuits were also very dry. They looked great, but tasted bland. The fried fish & tartar sauce was probably the most memorable dish. However, not everyone in our party had it because they do not like it. There's other options for "main" choices, but you'll have to compromise as a group. You'll have to do the same as far as the sides too! I would not recommend Paula Deen's Family Restaurant based on this visit and would advise potential patrons to consider other options for Southern comfort food while in Myrtle Beach. There are many more options within this great broad-walk complex. That said, I would suggest shopping in the gift store located in the downstairs of the building, as there are lots of merchandise that represents Paula Deen far better than her eatery. * If you happen to be a Food Network FAN (like I am). Flavor Town is coming to the other side of town. Location will be at the Myrtle Beach Mall & will open in June 2026*
