I've been coming to them for my periodic emissions testing for many years, starting when they were at their previous location. I decided that when my Nissan pickup truck needed any sort of repairs I'd bring it to them. I called a few days ago to arrange having the brakes serviced on my truck. When I called, I was greeted by a friendly voice of a young woman whe gave me a day to bring it in. On that day, I went to the service window and that young lady greeted me and said she'd give me a call later that day when they could tell me what the cost would be and when it would be completed. Later that day she phoned and told me the amount of the bill and said the job would be completed by end of the day. The price wasn't cheap (I wasn't expecting it to be), but I'm more concerned with quality & value. I told her that I arranged to pick it up the following morning, if that was ok. A little later that day she phoned once again to let me know the work was completed, just for my information. I appreciate that they communicate so well with their customers, and I'm very satisfied with the work they did. I learned just now from the owner's response that I can have my oil & filter changed while I wait, with an appointment made in advance. So I'm upping my review to five stars! Thank you Nelson's Automotive for your reliability, fair prices and good value.

Some people have said that they were able to pay just as much as the dealer or slightly under. In…read moremy experience, I've had to pay about 10% more on average for most typical services here. Granted, I choose to use synthetic rather than normal and my make/model and mileage may factor in somehow. With that being said I do think it is worth the extra cost to come to Valvoline. The total time to drive behind Citgo into the Valvoline garage, park your car, have them do their thing, and then pull out takes anywhere between 10-20 minutes. The employees here are very efficient and work well together while not sacrificing professionalism and friendliness! The one thing they will for sure up-sell you on is the $40 cabin air filter swap. Just go to the auto parts store around the corner and change it yourself for $10-20 dollars (really easy to do and won't harm your car if you "mess up"). You also never leave your car and don't wait in a room drinking stale coffee while morning trash TV is playing in the background. And they're open Sundays!

Essentially they will tell you to litigate the matter in court. Long story short they did not secure the splash guard under my vehicle or tighten the bolts and one of the bolts blew out my tire and splash guard came down and got damage as it dragged across the ground. I recommend going elsewhere.

There were serious miscommunications at every stage…read more I drove two hours from MA for a 2017 Outback 3.6R listed as having four new tires, new front brakes, and the 120k service just performed. When none of it appeared on the service records, I asked, and was told the work was done in-house. When I arrived to test drive and put a deposit down, they had double-booked us with another couple trying to buy the same car. During the test drive, the salesman admitted the tires hadn't actually been installed yet -- their policy is to put the bare minimum street-legal tire on the car, giving you about 25k miles, unless you pay extra for better ones. There was also considerable confusion about out-of-state registration. One person told me I could transfer my plates (which is correct, and my insurance agent confirmed it). Another told me I would "go to jail" if I got in an accident on the way home. I paid $199 for a pre-purchase inspection at Quality Subaru -- the shop that had serviced this car nine times since 2023. Their records showed none of the advertised work had been done. Their inspection found all four tires worn to 5/32 and scalping, both front axles needing replacement, oil leaking from the front engine cover and both valve covers, transmission fluid leaking from the oil pump cover, a cracked drive belt, and an alignment issue. When the report came back, rather than the person I was emailing with or the person that was there when I test drove it calling, a third employee called to refund my deposit and tell me they knew I'd want my money back and would sell the car for more. My deposit was refunded. But the work described in the listing had not been performed, and I only found out because I paid for an independent inspection. Chris is a straight shooter--he listened, didn't push, and once he heard my story, actually advised me on which car to get and why. He even handled the registration and delivered the car to my house. Top service all the way. Highly recommend.
