I just had the best car buying experience with Preece's Auto on the Berlin Turnpike in Meriden, CT. When I called to inquire about the car I was interested in, I told Chris Esposito I live near the shop but, had to wait a day or two for someone to bring me to see it. He said, I will gladly have Fernando come bring the car to you to take it for a test drive and check it out. WOW, never had that happen before. When Fernando pulled up to my house, he got out of the car, very presentable and friendly, introduced himself and made it so I didn't feel uncomfortable. After I made sure to show him my license, he said get in, check it out, if you want, drive it, and see if you like it. I drove a bit and then went to a nearby parking lot to get out and check everything I could think of to check. Any questions he couldn't answer he called Chris on his cell phone so he could talk me through them. I even took a few pictures and sent them to Chris for explanation. By the time I was driving out of the parking lot, I knew I was going to purchase it. The car is a 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE Touring and you would never think it's 13 years old by the condition it is in. For the asking price, the decision was a no-brainer, and I was not letting this one slip away. When we got back to the shop, I left my deposit with Fernando. When we were done, he drove me back home. They took care of all the registration, inspection etc. All I had to do was send them my insurance information. This happened all on Thursday, last week. Chris called me Saturday and told me the car should be done by Tuesday. Then Monday came along and he called and said it will be ready today. That was great, and knowing I didn't have a car, Chris came and picked me up to go to the shop and finalize everything. He is a really nice genuine man. Besides, fixing two things I asked for, they put in a new battery and back brakes. I realized there was only one fob for the car and knew that wouldn't be good for too long and asked how to get a second one. Chris said, don't worry about it, I will order one for you. When we were finishing up all the paperwork, I asked Chris if they do oil changes etc., because I don't have a mechanic because I was taking my last car to the dealers. Chris said, "we have you covered, we do it all here" and brought me next door to meet the mechanic who will be doing all my car work. I am very happy with the used Subaru Forester I purchased. Chris Esposito was very helpful and was quick to return my calls.
