I had a positive experience buying all my tractor fluids here. Great guys to work with from calling on the phone a couple times to visiting the shop. They had everything I wanted in stock. I noted the shop, parts and sales area was very clean. Happy to have a Bobcat dealer close by. Great attitudes from all employees. read more

Worst experience ever. Went for emissions.. had a bill that had a tear.. wouldn't exempt my last dollar.. wouldn't except 4 quarters.. turned me away.. I have 3 other vehicles this one needed the emissions. The other needs 3 cats replaced and evap sensor in fuel tank replaced GMC Acadia.. then my 2011 bmw needs work.. they will not be getting any of that buisness... would not recommend the old Grey haired guy is just petty.. lost $1000s in work over a simple dollar bill.. great job guys.. money out of you pocket of a dumb buisness man in charge read more

Excellent crew and top-notch service. A family-run service-station that provides even better care than "the big guys". And right in our neighborhood. read more

First I would like to start this review with a positive. I brought my car in about 4 months ago for an oil change, and to have my brakes checked. I would give that visit 5 stars. Now for my latest experience. I brought my car in on Tuesday because my tire pressure sensor light had been on for a few days. I was told that the tire pressure had been at 40 PSI and that could be the problem, so they set it lower. We went out to start the car, and the light was still on. I was told that the light should go off once the car was driven for a while. One day later, the light was still on. I brought the car to another service center on Wednesday, and I was told that all 4 tires were down to 25 PSI. They inflated the tires to the proper amount, and sure enough, the light went off. I am hoping my experience at Cromwell Automotive was an honest mistake, and maybe their equipment was not working properly. I actually had high hopes for this place because I know people who had great experiences here. read more

Excellent service! I called last minute for an oil change, they fit me right in. They also went through my car very thoroughly and discovered my tires were really bad. Rodney called and got my approval. They ordered the tires and mounted them and I was able to pick my car up at the end of my work day. The prices are fair, they are professional and friendly. I feel like I found the perfect place to take my car and feel safe! Thank you! Wendy read more

My issue was with getting a vehicle VIN Verified. I called about a week before asking if this shop VIN verifies motorcycles without registration (I have all the legal documentation, notarized affidavit and bill of sale from the State of Connecticut Title Service) and the very nice gentleman on the phone (I think it was Rodney?) said they can take care of it no problem. Great. Everything good ends there. I show up the following Saturday (11/19/2016) with ALL of the paperwork and the motorcycle, and also with the previous owner, just in case. The gentleman, Andre, appeared very confused when I asked him about the VIN verification. (Not inspection) He carried my paperwork away and talked with a fellow shop tech for about 30 seconds and came back telling me that he refuses to do the inspection because he can be fired, and told me I need registration. I tell him the reason I need the inspection is that the vehicle does not have the registration, but I have everything else. He proceeds to go on an offensive, and get aggressive about how he cannot and no matter what I tell him will change his mind, even the paperwork from the DMV website stating that "Cromwell Automotive" can do this task. He says they never do this on motorcycles anyways, only on trailers and seems to point out as if I don't know the difference between a Motorcycle and a Trailer. Alright I'm threw here. I left and went down the road to Firestone and had the inspection done in 5 minutes, no problem. I will never deal with Cromwell Automotive again, and will recommend to all my family to avoid that place like the plague. Never have I had such a rude and disrespectful experience at an auto shop in my entire life. read more

Recently purchased a used Fisher plow. The installation was extremely well done, professional and neat. After delivery I discovered a problem with one of the mounting brackets. Even though the unit was used they replaced it at no charge. Andre Brackett who runs the front desk was courteous and professional. Thanks for all your help and advice. Of course, now it will never snow again! read more

His response was 'How about you suck my D!(K. Unbelievable. I was only calling for a part for my plow. If the owner reads this please respond I would be happy to call you to tell you more. read more

My car limped into their parking lot.....the oil light was on and screaming. They opened the hood noticed the oil cap missing...told me this was the reason the light went on...added oil, replaced oil cap checked nothing else and told me I was good to go. I paid the bill and got no further than 100 feet when light came back on.....I limped back to them. I only did this because I knew driving my car any further would cause damage. They told me it would need to be diagnosed....but would not tell me how long it would take I got shrugs. They did offer a ride home which I gladly took gladly. I was told I would be called in afternoon..... I had to call them....and was told that they were waiting for the dealer to call back with a quote...I thanked them and started dialing the phone.....they never called the dealer...any of them.....I hate being lied to. However, while on the phone with one of the dealers they suggested a reason and possible fix. I thanked them and called Cromwell with this information. ..he was belligerent. ...telling me he would be able to give me some idea of what it takes to repair after he hears back from dealer. So, i gave him that....the next morning I got a call and was told it would be $450.00 to start....my engine was making a lot of noise.etc...etc. When I asked him about the possible fix....he got belligerent again... and told me if I did not want my car fixed there...I should tow it out of there. I told him consider it done. I called AAA went down there oaid the diagnostic fee of $125.00 and had my car towed out of there. I towed it to the dealership....who repaired it for $50.00. I am a woman that owns 2 older vehicle.....I keep them up to date and in good repair. When my car lmped into their garage.....I looked around thinking that this was a nice small business...close to my home....if my car is repaired I would have continued to go there for scheduled services. It is unfortunate that they think ripping off new customers is a good way of building business. But I truly think they saw a woman and thought I would not be proactive in my vehicle repair...... Mistake.....big mistake...never ever go to Cromwell Automotive. read more
