You can actually make an appointment for Sunday here, and even on Sunday the staff were friendly and punctual. This maybe the only place around here you don't have to take time off from work to get service. My standard size tires were in stock, and weren't a bad price. Thankfully they didn't get too pushy on adding other service. Alas Price Rite's been gone front the mall so not much strolling while you wait unless you want to cross 372 for Walmart. The waiting area's bright and airy, and with all the customary car smells and Sunday football on the tv. Bring headphones if you aren't a football fan, and enjoy the comfy seats. read more

I went to have a plug put in my tire. After waiting for a while Apparently they don't care when you're not purchasing tires. All for nothing since after waiting a week later the plug is leaking. would be a zero star review if yelp allowed it. dropped off my vehicle with a broken brake line. needed line replaced . I was called by John a couple of hours later being told that I needed to replace my caliper the hose that broke and flush the brakes for a grand total of $811 I asked then to not fix it and took my vehicle to someone else. turns out my caliper was fine and all I needed was the brake line and nothing more. surprisingly all I paid was $160 for this repair. my brakes work great . I asked the other shop if I needed a caliper I was told no its working fine. I asked what the cost would be if I did need one and was told $400 for my brake line and caliper if it was necessary. disgusted that they would try and rip people off like this . do yourself a favor and go somewhere else read more

I had a screw in my tire of my brand new truck. It was late and I should have known better than going here, after the terrible service they give my company for fleet service (We had to stop using them it was so bad and shady.... A national account by the way) They not only did not properly plug the tire, but insisted the only way to handle this situation was to purchase two new tires. This truck is 3 months old and clearly does not need 2 new tires. I brought to another shop where they plugged the tire for free, and said that firestone all but ruined the tire with their shoddy work. I could go on and on about our fleet vehicles being charged for work not performed, or for needing to have vehicles towed to other repair shops because their mechanics? are so unskilled. Brutal. Avoid!!!! Different staff every visit. Revolving door. A shame that a once great company has come to this. read more

I am not a mechanic. But even cursory knowledge of automobiles dictates that you DON'T OVER-TORQUE SHIT. Drain plugs, engine hardware, brake bolts, body bolts, and of course, LUG NUTS. 80 foot pounds of torque give or take depending on the vehicle... this is common knowledge. Firestone were the last to touch my rear wheels when they mounted my tires a few months back. Now it was time to do the back brakes on my own (after doing the fronts went 100% smoothly, mind you). Couldn't believe what I found... All the lug nuts on my passenger rear wheel were over-torqued, and one in particular was so bad, it required spray lubricant, a blow torch, a sledgehammer, a sacrificed socket, a sacrificed lug nut, and 45 minutes of pure hell. So I actually gave up on doing the brakes. I discovered this was NOT by chance when I handed the brake job over to my local driveway mechanic. He was the first to touch the driver's side rear wheel, and guess what: Same. Exact. Thing. Horribly over-torqued lug nuts, as he endured great suffering just to get one of them off. $15 to replace 2 OEM lug nuts, thanks to Firestone. What are your people doing here? Not caring, that's for certain. Thank goodness I didn't drive this thing too much prior to doing the brakes. Never again. read more

There is something very shady going on over there. We brought the car in for a tire plug. Took them all day to repair it. Go to pick up the car. We realized right away when we got in the car that the seatbelt was different. The seatbelt did not match the rest of the seatbelts in the car. The original seat belt was dirty. The new one was clean and had a thicker clip on it. They basically stole a seatbelt out of the car and replaced it with a different one. I called the dealership to see how much a new seat costs. $200 plus labor. We were customers for years and years. My whole family brought their vehicles there. The next step is calling the Better Business Bureau and bringing them to small claims court. I even called the dealership where the car was bought. Nothing was replaced in that car and we are not imagining things. Everyone who has driven that car in my family. We have all noticed that the-seat belt was different. Bring your vehicle there. You may leave with something missing from your car. Someone should be fired for it. Whoever worked on my car that day. They should be fired. The clip they replaced it with. It doesn't even clip right into the mechanism that was not replaced. The complete clip was a lot thicker than the original as well. That's how we know it was replaced. They have some shady workers in there. It's disgusting. I will be telling everyone about my experience here. read more

Fast, efficient and helpful car service. I've been a Firestone customer for many years and my recent experience at this Cromwell location was great. The service was very friendly and quick. I was having an issue with multiple engine lights being stuck on, including the check engine and traction control lights. Multiple auto stores said I needed a lot of work done (7 error codes), but I was skeptical. I came to Firestone to have both of the O2 sensors replaced. The Toyota Camry has 120,000 miles and those sensors have a history of malfunctioning and 4 of the error codes were related to the O2 sensors. The other codes were vague. I came here at 8 in the morning and within 90 minutes, both sensors were replaced and they did a full error code check and reset of the check engine light. They said the O2 sensor error was tripping off other codes and error lights. I was told I was good to go and should drive the car 50 miles just to make sure the light didn't go back on. I drove around for the day and the dashboard has no lights on. Finally. After being quoted at over $1,000 by multiple places, Firestone fixed the issue fast with no nonsense. I just had my emissions test the same day and passed! I highly recommend this location. read more

I would like to share my experience with your Cromwell store and the exceptional customer service I have been provided. On Sunday 6/21 , I brought my van in for a winter tire changeover, TPMS warning light and alignment. That service was done sooner than expected and much cheaper than I was anticipating and the store said that the TPMS light should go away within 60 miles and if it doesn't bring it back and they will replace it . I brought my own used tires in for the summer set and apparently they weren't as good as I thought and this whole week I have been having issues with them keeping air and the TPMS light didn't go off so I returned to the store today. Jason was there today and he's the same manager that helped me on Sunday which was awesome because he knew about this TPMS sensor issue and said he would just replace it. They had the part at the store so I didnt have to wait at all, he also told me that one of the tires was just no repairable and the second one had problems Also but was repairable. I really appreciated how I was not pressured to buy 2 new tires because I only needed one. I really appreciate how Jason explains vehicle issues and how we can fix them and breaks Down mechanical terminology that I may not understand or know anything about. Jason is very very understanding , he always has a great attitude when dealing with customers and he always greets his customers with a smile ; which is very underrated nowadays but a smile can go along way with customers and making people feel comfortable and happy with the service they are receiving. Jason never seems to overcharge - he even goes above and beyond trying to find coupons or discounts for the service ticket. He is always a pleasure to work with and talk to, I live in a neighboring town and there are many many automotive stores I can go to but I choose to drive to Cromwell and go to this location because of the incredible customer service and great repair work I receive . I first came to Firestone 2 years ago because I received a gift card for Christmas and I needed to use it, and when I first arrived I met Jason and he's helped me out ever since. I feel like he's looks out for my vehicle, my wallet and my time every time I see him and I am always so happy to see when he's working because I know I'm not going to get over charged, i will never be pressured and everything will be explained to me where I can understand --not many people will do all that for their customers and that makes him someone who is very appreciated. I was on my way to Maine from NY to visit my daughter at college for parents weekend. I got my oil changed at home in August and I got my tires balanced and rotated for the trip. Unfortunately the place I had work done at previously did a less than optimal job and I started having serious issues while driving. Fortunately for me, I got off 91 and luckily was directed to this Firestone location. There was quite a bit wrong with it unfortunately but after a lot of work they were able to fix my car. They worked with me to get me an affordable solution and after 5 hours, they got me on the road and I was able to get to Maine without any problems. These guys have always been honest with me and have gone out of their way to accomodate. I've lived in Cromwell for years and I've been going to Firestone for brakes, tires, and mutiple auto fixes. The staff always seems friendly and straight forward. On one occasion I bent a rim on one of my tires and they fixed it for me free of charge. I usually end up dropping my car off if I have an issue and returning when they call me back, so I can't speak to their efficiency. I was in recently and bought all new tires. The sales staff at the desk were really great, very accommodating and friendly. I was there for 2 hours and overhead several conversations with customers. It was a very busy day having just had some snow in the area. Every time the staff provided great customer service and recovery for those who needed it. I have been going to this location for may years and have done numerous business with them. Everything from tires, brakes oil changes and now a/c work on my GMC Yukon Denali. I dropped my vehicle off overnight and when I went to pick it up, the right rear bumper cover was hanging off. Upon questioning Andrew, I was told that I brought it in this way, which was total BS. I take very good of my vehicles and would never have it looking like this, never mind driving it like this. I was told that the service writer had noted it on the work order that I left the vehicle off this way and the damage was done by me. He basically called me a liar. Stay away from this place, they are a bunch of liars. What a shame, I will never go back here again. read more

Don't come here! I'be taken my car here a few times for an oil change and gave never had a problem until this last visit. I made an appointment for 11:30 for an oil change, it took them 2 hours and a call from me to actually get my car done. I paid for the car complete check and it wasn't done. The worst thing about this visit is that I found two HUGE bolts under my hood! When I called to complain the guy denied that they would have come from them and gave me so much attitude! I have been to Firestone about a zillion times. The best thing I can say about a mechanic...I don't think that they completely screw you over. Every time I come to this place, whether for an oil change or a flat tire, they end up finding something that needs to be fixed. Bad brake pads, worn timing belt, faulty flux capacitor...something. The good thing is that, when you ask for detail, they can give you the lo-down on whether it's an emergency or whether it's a "nice to have." One thing that really annoys me about the place, though, is when they charge me 20 bucks for a "vehicle inspection" when I just dropped 300 bucks for the latest issue. Don't pay it. Just say no! You can go here, be cautious and ask questions. Ask for a discount. Say no to the 20 dollar vehicle inspection. You'll drop some dough but they'll fix your car. You'll be fine. read more

Will never go back. Three out of three times that I've been there recently I've had nothing but issues. Today I called ahead before going down for emissions. verified that there wouldn't be a wait, waited 25 minutes and they didn't even touch my car. Last time I went for an oil change I asked them to check my air filter because it hasn't been changed by them in three oil changes. they assured me it's fine I get back to the office and checked it myself and it was disgusting. Time before that they didn't put the plug back in right for the oil change. I knew I had a long drive after stopping for my oil change so I got gas and checked my oil before getting on the highway, only to find there was none in my car! I've rarely had a problem here. Always get the job done that day, which makes it a bit pricey but it beats taking it to a mechanic who may or may not get to it that day, then have him keep it for a few nights and leave you without a ride. People who work there are always really nice and courteous, have also been really chill about topping off coolant or oil free of charge. The mechanics have a good eye when going through the car; found errors that other dealerships had made on my car (such as unplugging my AC after supposedly fixing it). They will give you what needs to be done to the car in the long term which initially comes off pricey; one of the fellows tried convincing me that I'd need to lay down almost 1000 to fix my exhaust system. When I took it to another mechanic he patched up what needed to be done in the short term, much cheaper. Anyway, overall, I'm satisfied with them :) read more
