I tried to wait patiently the last time but got discouraged and left. Apparently they don't care either. I explained to the lady at her desk next to the front door that I couldn't wait any longer because there's to many other places I could take my business to. She politely said, "that's ok, have a nice day". My feeling is that this family owned business with which seems like at least 10 employees (including office staff) have unfortunately lost all care and concern for new Customers. I gave the 2 stars because I also bought my gun there the month prior. But even then I never felt appreciated. The whole staff, they wander around doing their own thing and completely ignore walk-ins. Got a question, take a #. Never again will I return to this store and I would not recommend them to anyone.

They recently opened up their new location ( across the street from their previous location ) and man it's coming together. Far bigger store where they get to put up more goods to sell. The team is generally full of well informed and expert opinions that can guide your purchasing decisions. Special shout outs to Ethan who was one of the first staff members I interacted with and have since developed an immense gratitude for his knowledge and service attitude, frequently picking his brain and taking up his time, never making me feel rushed. Additionally aside from Ethan , it's been great getting to know Tyler and Kyle whom also exemplify great knowledge, great service, and general patience for a guy like me with a million questions. The shops selection is insane with your usual popular options and even select harder find options that aren't readily available at other lgs. The team/staff seem to be growing to match their high customer volume ( of which I have had the opportunity to work with through my several purchases ). Also while not directly involved in my purchases with processing paperwork's but often giving approval or influencing the deals that make purchases easy, Aubri has also been impactful and always takes the time to say hello! The og's that I mentioned have led/taught the growing staff well. If the owner/owners are reading this, please understand how much impact the aforementioned staff have made for guys like me. She showed me their less than lethal projection "gun" and let me fire a few round projectiles to try it out. She explained everything I needed to know about it, how to change out cylinders, maintenance etc... I didn't intend on spending anything, I just wanted to check the place out. So glad I stopped by. I purchased it along with extra practice "balls". This will be the perfect self defense weapon in my RV since we will be traveling for 2 months this summer going across the entire country with multiple states (that have different gun laws) This weapon is legal in all 50 and is not considered a fire arm though it looks like one (and probably will feel like one too briefly for a bad guy). I don't want to risk taking my real gun(s) into Canada or onto many military bases I will be at.

So, they were able to purchase ammo. I noticed they had some sales and deals on certain items in the store. The ammo be expensive though. That's normal I believe. We spent $300 on ammo for shooting. Seems like a lot, but ammo goes quick when you are shooting. Service was fine. They were friendly and helpful.

I had a really frustrating experience at Bass Pro Shop today. I waited almost two hours at the ammo…read morecounter just to be helped. When it was finally my turn, the employee refused to even run the California ammo eligibility check on my driver's license. The reason? My license shows my city as "Rancho Cucamo" instead of spelling out "Rancho Cucamonga." This is a standard DMV abbreviation because the full city name is too long to fit on the license. Instead of simply running the check and letting the system decide, the employee said he didn't want to process it because the city wasn't spelled out fully. Waiting that long just to be turned away for something printed by the DMV was extremely frustrating. I understand stores have to follow California laws, but refusing to even try the check after a two-hour wait felt unprofessional and like a waste of a customer's time. Hopefully Bass Pro Shop improves training and customer service at the ammo counter so others don't have to deal with the same experience.
