First time in the store yesterday. The salesperson was very very knowledgeable about anything I asked about. Super professional and nice. She showed me their less than lethal projection "gun" and let me fire a few round projectiles to try it out. She explained everything I needed to know about it, how to change out cylinders, maintenance etc... I didn't intend on spending anything, I just wanted to check the place out. So glad I stopped by. I purchased it along with extra practice "balls". This will be the perfect self defense weapon in my RV since we will be traveling for 2 months this summer going across the entire country with multiple states (that have different gun laws) This weapon is legal in all 50 and is not considered a fire arm though it looks like one (and probably will feel like one too briefly for a bad guy). I don't want to risk taking my real gun(s) into Canada or onto many military bases I will be at. read more

Found out about the store by accident. I was on my way to my buddies house in Claremont, and passed by Prep and save. After visiting my buddy, came back to the store and purchased several items. Small store but great selection of products and Kyla (employee) was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great specials they were offering. On Saturdays they cook so, I was able to try Mountain House Fettuccine. Great store!! Be ready!! Pricing is insane... They are taking advantage of people. Cases of N95 masks typically go for about 18 bucks for 20. They are probably paying 9... They are selling them in singles for 7.95 each and limiting purchases to 2... Yes 2... Price gouging is illegal in California, I don't know how they are getting away with this. California Penal Code 396 prohibits price gouging, generally defined as anything greater than a 10 percent increase in price, once a state of emergency has been declared. I resell these also and I have not seen increases from the manufacturer. Availability is very limited but the manufacturer and suppliers have not raised their cost. You are correct that they are hard to get, but your cost is the same. read more

Yes we are in earthquake country and need to be prepared. This store has everything and emergency department could require for first aid and dry food supplies. There are water drums water containers and emergency flashers lights things to survive without electricity. When I went there were 3 people on the floor to help and answer any questions. The store is neatly set up into sections including for your pets as well. Certainly worth picking up some bare minimum of supplies. read more

By my own admission, I need to do more in terms of preparing for an earthquake. I've ordered a kit online at Amazon, but I still didn't think that was enough. Until you come here, you really don't realize all of the things you may need, and believe me, this place will probably have it. The staff here is both knowledgeable and helpful. Limited selections of knives or cool gadgets and i felt like it could use more off the grid items, camping items and literature and definitely in need of more easier guides like guides for dummies kinds of books for someone interested in starting or herbs and medicine for homesteading. I agree about the price issue. My friend ordered masks for $2.99 each. 2 hours later I ordered the same masks and was quoted $2.99 each. When I received the masks the credit card receipt reflected a charge of $7.95 each. I wrote into their customer service a week ago, with images of my friends cc receipt and mine. I have been here a couple of times and always walk out pleased. Prep and Save has great customer service and a wide selection of survival/emergency gear. The store is neatly organized and everything is very easy to find. In the front of the store you can find freeze dried food, rations (which taste great btw), knives, lights, canned water, solar powered charge packs etc. In the back is mainly camping gear, bags/packs, first aid, a huge dried food tasting area, water storage, food storage, pet gear =) I really dig this place. One of my favorite stores in Upland. They have a great selection of everything you need to prep for any natural disaster you are scared of. I personally love going here to expand my growing knife collection because of the great deals. Sometimes they have a clearance sales with unbelievable prices. I once got a $50 drone for $10. Staff is always attentive, friendly and knowledge about all of the items they sell. They also give demos on certain items and samples from their extensive freeze dried foods inventory. read more

These guys have (most)everything you need when it comes to prepping and survival. The customer service is above average for the type of place it is. The employees seem to know what they're talking about. Most survival stores I've visited don't share the same attention to detail as these folks.
