Duck donuts is my go to for birthdays, holidays, book club goodies, or a treat for the office. I love a cake donut and I love the variety.
I went to an event over the weekend and I could not pass up stopping by the Duck Donuts food truck. The service here was great and very quick and the donuts from here never disappoint.
Had to stop by and give them a try , Order a dozen donuts and a coffee And love the whole experience they make each one of the donuts to order and the service was awesome I give them 9 out 10 .
Finally got around to trying the donuts here. This is a small, narrow place where the donuts are "made to order", which of course they are not. Already made cake donuts (all that is offered here) are topped, coated, and drizzled to order. There is no table service. You place your order at the register at the back of the space, and will pick it up at the front. The cooking and prep area is open so you can watch the process if you choose! I simply wanted a couple of ordinary donuts, no exotic drizzled or toppings - a plain cake donut and a standard glazed donut. Traffic was lite so my small order was quickly ready. Both donuts were very good, rich in flavor. These are rather expensive treats, each of mine was $2.65 - Krispy Kreme's glazed singles are $1.99, 33% less expensive. Are these basic donuts good enough to justify that cost difference? To me the answer is no - maybe the coated, topped, and drizzled ones would be worth the premium charged here. Ambiance - 1 Food - 4 Service - 4 Value - 2 Toppings Coatings Drizzles KK glazed donut is $1.99
Looking for a fun, sweet treat as you head into the weekend? Now through July, you can enjoy the perfect patriotic-themed assortment to take to 4th of July picnics and gatherings. Duck Donuts is offering a Patriotic Assortment which features red, white, and blue sprinkles in fun and festive combinations such as: Star-Spangled Sparkler: blue vanilla icing with patriotic sprinkles Patriotic Cinnamon Bun: cinnamon sugar with blue vanilla drizzle Beach Ball Sparkler: vanilla icing with patriotic sprinkles and chocolate drizzle Star-Spangled Swirl: blue vanilla icing with chocolate drizzle Their donuts are the perfect consistency and their glazes and toppings make for a yummy sweet treat. These are a cake style donut so they are more dense and sweet than the doughy versions
I had been having a craving for donuts, so I decided to stop by on my lunch break on a Thursday afternoon after stopping to another store. I ended up placing my order online at 12:25pm while at the other store to save time. The confirmation said it would be ready in approx 20 minutes. When I arrived at 12:40pm, they hadn't started making my order yet because I heard one staff tell another staff state that there is an online order. There was 1 cashier and 1 person making the donuts. As I was waiting, there were people ordering. One male staff was making the orders of the people who had ordered in store. The cashier asked him if he was making the online order. When replied "no", she told him "he's here" referring to me. As I continued to wait, the store cleared and I was the last one waiting... :/ My order wasn't ready until about 12:50pm. I assume that if I want to place an online order in the future, I'll be sure to arrive at the estimated time or simply go inside and order. On the bright side, my donuts were delicious!
My friend who lives in Winston-Salem said this place is a must. This might be the best donuts I've ever tried and I'd move to North Carolina just to have these fresh donuts once a week. All the flavors were amazing. They are freshly made right in front of you, and there is a huge list of flavors to pick from. The staff was very friendly and recommended her favorites donuts for us to try. I wish I remember all the names, but my favorite one was the blueberry pancake donut.
I really liked a couple of things about Duck Donuts and then a couple of things I really did not like. The likes: Made to order. Great flavors, a couple of different maple bacon ones (one of my favorites) Price point was pretty good. Friendly service The not likes: They were super squishy soft, not really a good thing in a donut. The maple bacon, although tasting good, was also very sticky. I was told there is a bathroom there so I should have taken advantage of it rather than hand sanitizer to clean up. Overall, even though I was looking forward to Duck Donuts I can't rate it higher.
It's a solid 5 stars for the donut. It's piping hot, drenched in gooey toppings and you have to eat it with a fork. Only cakes donuts here, no yeast donut options and it's just a plain cake base and the assortment of flavors are all in the toppings, and they have a ton. Service, a sold 1-star. Cashier was boring and seemed uninterested in helping anybody. The donut maker with her sagging pants and underwear hanging out dropping our ticket, picked it up off the floor with her gloves on, and continued to make our donuts. Then she dropped one of our donuts in the floor, picked that up too, wiped her gloves on a dirty towel and started over with our food. Great donuts, but the help needs some help.
This is the best duck donut location I visited. The service was great I got greeted right away and I was out in five minutes. The toppings didn't melt before I got home. The donuts were perfect! The store was cute and clean definitely will be back!
Duck donuts is definitely one of my favorites! It's always better to eat sooner rather than later, because they are warm and gooey and just perfect. Our most recent trip we decided to do an order to bring home. My husband actually got the donut Sundae and I got a s'more's donut. We also added a French toast donut bc you must! The donuts are perfectly sweet without being too much. The s'mores may be my favorite but I am a sucker for things that remind me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch hence the French toast. The pricing is very reasonable the packaging is just the cutest. For my waistline I'd like to say I won't be back but that would be a lie... see you soon duck donuts!
"It's really good" was the consensus in our far! "This is oh my gosh good" was another response. We got a box and one to grow on for the trip home. The location is perfect next to the coffee shop so you have the best of both worlds, especially for those traveling through of i40!
Came for the seasonal fall flavors! Customer service is friendly and quick as always. We tried the pumpkin roll (7/10), pumpkin streusel (8/10), apple pie (8/10), apple cobbler (8/10), pecan pie (8/10), and blueberry pancake (10/10, not seasonal but wanted half a dozen). The donuts were fresh to made as always, so soft and fluffy despite being cake donuts. The flavors were spot on with the pumpkin flavors being less sweet than the apple flavors. There were apple chunks on their seasonal apple donuts which gave a great texture contrast. Overall very delicious and a great sweet treat.

Not a huge Donut fan, but this place changed my mind! The smell is mouthwatering when you enter, you kinda have to look around first because there's so much going on. Then the menu , which there are several, basically you choose your toppings. Of which there are tons, they dip a warm donut in your chosen toppings and serve you a fresh warm, melt in your mouth donut. It's fun to watch them do yours, I chose the lemon dip with raspberry sauce, it's a little sweet but so good, the donuts are more cake like then the yeasty Krispy Kreme ones, which is fine by me, it absorbs the toppings better. It literally is a little happiness in your mouth. Delicious. My friend got the peanut butter with marshmallow and she loved hers too. It definitely hits the sweet craving, which we wanted after lunch next door at Taco mama. It's definitely small inside, there a few seats, some more outside, seemed like most were picking up to go. We managed to snag 2 seats inside. There are so many topping combinations you can do it's limitless. 2 donuts just under $4, not too bad. Maybe I am a donut lover after all! read more

Check out my Instagram for more details and pictures! IG: @zackaryeats Duck Donuts is 100% in the competition for the BEST DONUTS in Winston-Salem. Not only is it currently the fastest growing donut shop in the United States, but it also originates from the Outer Banks, North Carolina! opened. Their name comes from the city, Duck, NC, where one of their first shops opened. Duck Donuts specializes in cake-style donuts, which are denser than the airy donuts found in Krispy Kreme and pack much more flavor. The moment you walk inside one of these stores, you will be smacked with the mouthwatering smell of warm donuts being made. The donuts are made-to-order and have an abundance of various flavors and toppings. Please check this place out if you're looking for a donut shop in addition to Dough Joe's, Krispy Kreme, and Dunkin Donuts. You will NOT be disappointed! WORTH IT? YES ABSOLUTELY! 9/10 read more
We were on our way back from shopping when we did a u-turn and wants to try these donuts people were raving about. There was a line on an early Saturday afternoon and the smell when you walk in is the best advertising they could do. Here's the schtick: Duck Donuts lets you customize donuts your way either through custom flavor combos they offer or you can make your own flavors of toppings. It's a novel concept. We ordered 1/2 dozen for $9.00, very steep. A dozen will run you $15. The donuts were light and tasty, the toppings were really good but in the end they are........donuts. Now that I've tried them, I'm over it. That's a lot of money to pay for a little fried dough and basically sugar. I might get some for a special occasion but as far as going out of my way to go here? Nope. Maybe some people have more income than I do but I can't bring myself to shell out that kind of money for......donuts. Service was fast and friendly. The donuts were good. But a little too pricey for me...... read more

If you haven't experienced Duck Donuts yet, you are missing out! Clever concept created in Duck NC where they start with their basic donut and you get to choose the glaze, toppings and drizzles of your choice. They have signature donuts to choose from, including ones specifically for the season. Fun experience and delicious donuts, doesn't get much better than that! So happy they finally opened this location. Today it was busy, but the line moves quickly. We ordered a dozen of their signature donuts. They present your finished donuts to you at the end and we noticed one was missing (he had made 2 of one of the other flavors we chose) so without a question the guy went and made us an extra of the missing flavor, talk about great customer service! read more

Oh my heavens all mighty! If you've never heard of or had the pleasure and satisfaction of enjoying a @duckdonuts then you my friends have not lived. Y'all know I love food and when I came here I thought nothing of it. Just a donut right? WRONG so wrong. As soon as I tried grabbing it everything in me immediately was at attention because we knew this wasn't just a donut. As I brought the maple bacon Carmel donut closer to my mouth my senses where going wild. The smell the look I couldn't help the inner fat kid in me not being excited. I took the first bite and it was more majestic than I could have ever imagined. My inner google fat man pin was marked. I would travel on foot for days to eat another one. I know understand clearly what Gods manna must have tasted like. I mean just look at the picture! You know you are drooling and googling "DuckDonut" so what are you waiting for go find you some! read more

I've been to a few different a Duck Donuts. This one is a nice place overall. The donuts were hot, fresh, and delicious. The price for Duck Donuts always seems high but you have to consider its a specialty donut. Therefore, it'll cost more than a standard donut. The one complaint I have about this specific location relates to the store layout. I think it would be beneficial to have menus available near the store entrance/along the wall for those waiting in line. The large wall menu doesn't have the donut options listed. The only menus with all the donut options are provided at the register, which I didn't know about until it was my time to order. By providing additional menus to the mid/back of the line, customers won't have to walk past others waiting in line to search for a full menu. Those waiting in line can then check out the many different donut options which inevitably should speed up the time it takes to place an order. read more
Duck Donuts is AMAZING!! I am surprised to not see many reviews, bc these donuts are something else. The donuts are made to order and made fresh in house (i.e. not made until you place your order). They have 20 or so pre-created donut ideas but you can also customize your own cake, icing, and topping if you choose. They are following COVID-19 protocols, only allowing 5 customers in the store at the same time. The donuts taste insanely fresh!! These didn't last more than an day, and were eaten in a hurry. As we are new to the area we were so happy to find a dangerous donut place (which might become our Saturday routine). I got the piña colada and cinnamon swirl, and honestly so hard to say which was best!! The piña colada had a lemon frosting paired with coconut flakes that was delicious. The cinnamon swirl was rolled in cinnamon sugar and had an icing drizzle on top. Surprisingly neither were super heavy donuts, both sweet and light. My fiancé got the chocolate, strawberry, blueberry lemonade, and Oreo. The blueberry lemonade was exquisite, and not like any other donut!!! He said the Oreo was his second fav tasting similar to a fried Oreo. He loved the other flavors too those were just his top. Give this place a shot. I don't think they'll disappoint!! :) read more

I am very fond of sweets, so I was excited when I found Duck Donuts. While the interior is relatively small, they have a wide selection of donuts, milkshakes, and coffees on their menu. When ordering you will definitely have a difficult time choosing which doughnuts you want in your box, since they all look and sound so good. My favorite thing about Duck Donuts is that the doughnuts are made fresh and in front of you. You can see your doughnuts go through every stage. From being dropped in the oil to cook, up until the moment they garnish each doughnut to your choosing. The staff was very kind and patient while I picked out the doughnuts I wanted in my box and at the end, they presented my doughnuts and asked if they look good. Overall, the doughnuts were warm, fresh, and very soft. read more
