The best part about duck donuts is how each donut you order is fried to order. I have never been to a donut shop that makes each order fresh, and I have to say I will never ever be buying a donut any other way ever again. The counterperson was helpful and patient when we ordered since we weren't familiar with the order format. When I went I ordered three donuts for myself and my wife ordered one for herself. We get the box of donuts and they gave us an extra cinnamon sugar donut! That was a pleasant surprise for sure. We stayed and ate the donuts by the window seating they have available, and I am glad we did. The donuts would have tasted great either way, but when they're fresh and all the toppings are melty it is truly an experience. Just a tip, don't eat them with your bare hands like I did, ask for a knife and fork! I am an avid calorie counter and was also happy to find that they have a nutritional breakdown of their toppings which made my whole three donut breakfast under 900 kcal. I had been meaning to stop by and try them before the pandemic but didn't get around to it. I decided to try them one day when I took a drive. It was a very pleasant experience! I ordered curbside. The young lady came out (in mask) to find out who I was. She stayed about 6 feet back as she questioned me and returned pretty quickly with my order. I "thought" she accidentally left my orange juice inside. She hadn't. She explained that she waited until the moment I got my donuts to go get the juice to keep it as cold as possible. The juice was ice cold. The donuts were warm, soft and gooey. Well, as gooey as could be considering the toppings I chose. Having them iced in this fashion was a new thing for me, however, it won't stay new for long! I really loved this style. I felt that as an establishment they went out of their way to provide a clean, hygienic and polite experience. I've already recommended them to family and friends as a spot that they will fall in love with too. To that end, this won't be my last time visiting them. Caution: be sure to check their hours of operation on their website. This is a unique period in time and some businesses reflect that in their hours of operation. The Marlton location's real hours don't match Yelp's hours. However, the hours they are open are still reasonable, especially for the weekend. read more

I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of Duck Donuts ever since we came across the coming soon sign on their storefront. After a very long wait they officially opened on Friday! A little miscommunication on their Facebook page had me on edge as they made it seem that they may not be opening on their scheduled Friday date. They never updated on whether or not they were opening so I assumed it would be delayed. Turns out they opened so I was a little bitter to say the least. But I won't cry over spilt donuts, milk, or whatever...I did however make it in on Sunday and was delighted to see the line really wasn't that bad. The smell as you walk in is just super inviting and instantly makes you starved for donuts. I liked how it was set up all open, so you could watch them make your donuts and what not. I probably stood in line for about 25-30 minutes. But it really didn't feel that long (granted I stood in line for 8 hours at another bakery opening a few years ago). I never understand why people complain constantly while in line. Its a part of life you stand in line, you get stuff...get over it. Service was decent but not as friendly as I was excepting for opening week, but I get it, they've probably been slammed since Friday non stop. A dozen donuts will run you just under $20, so these are a more premium treat. I ordered 4 because I knew if I got a dozen I'd eat them all....myself. The maple bacon is by far the best IMO. They were very fresh and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Overall I wasn't disappointed. I'll go back when its not so crazy..or maybe i'll go back tomorrow! It was extremely busy when we came on Saturday. It took about an hour to order and receive our donuts with how many people were there. You get an order form and can pick what donuts you want. They have some set donuts or you can do all custom. Despite the fact that they were packed, everyone was moving as fast as they could and they were all super polite. It was worth the wait! I had been waiting for DD to open since I read about it in the paper over a year ago! I went on opening day and it was a MAD HOUSE. The staff is great, and the young staff is still getting use to the "build to order" donuts, but I know over time they will know each donut like the back of their hand and it'll be fast from beginning to end. I'm so glad you're a part of the neighborhood. Really. Your donuts are made fresh, on the spot, and your staff is so nice. If you go to their Facebook page you can see that they have done giveaways, community service, and close when its dangerous outside (i.e. bad weather - snow). Stopped by for Sunday morning breakfast- along with many others, as the line reached the door when we arrived. On the right when you walk in are paper menus and pencils, with which you record your order. There are a few favorites listed at the top, and then you have the option to create your own combos by choosing a coating, topping, and a drizzle. The donuts are made fresh to order and the line moves along relatively quickly, especially when you're distracted by all the choices on the menu. Once we placed our order, the donuts were made pretty quickly. However, it did take quite a bit for them to make the coffee. Once the donuts are done, they showed us the box and asked if they looked good, upon which my sister and I requested that they add more powder onto our powder donuts (which they did). I ordered one powder and one with chocolate coating/chocolate topping/fudge drizzle. The donuts were absolutely delicious! My sister enjoyed her powdered, and her graham cracker sprinkled creation was tasty as well. My boyfriend enjoyed his pb & jelly donut, and he was surprised that he also liked the bacon donut. There's a fridge with some beverages such as apple juice and etc, but I prefer my donuts with a cold milk. Milks were only sold via tiny carton, so I had to buy 2. My only suggestion is that they supply the fridge with larger cartons. I'm sure we'll be back again soon. read more

First time here yesterday and we loved the donuts! We loved the build your own concept which is great because you get to try different combinations of the things you like! Here are my thoughts, something to consider when you go: Pros: 1) Long line packed with people but the wait for the donuts weren't long considering the amount of people there. 2) When you get to the counter, you kinda already know what you want because they have order forms for you to fill out while waiting in line so the lines move pretty quickly. 3) You can let them know if peanut allergies and they can accommodate 4) Donuts are made fresh constantly Cons: 1) If you have a nut allergy, your choices are limited in what you can order. For example, you can't get the s'mores one (which is the one we wanted). 2) The order forms does not list all the specialty donuts that were available so you'll have to make that decision at the counter. 3) I wanted to order iced coffee, on the menu, but was told that they didn't have iced coffee. I would have to get a cup of ice and poor hot coffee over it. You can guess why this wouldn't work. All in all, we loved the donuts and had a pleasant experience with the kids. The pros do outweigh the cons for sure. The cons are more for FYI if you're a first timer like us. read more

Yes, it's $1.85 a donut but so, so worth it. The employees were super friendly and they ask you if the donuts are to your liking prior to putting the top on. These donuts when eaten fresh and warm are incredible. I was initially hesitant to even give this place a try, because I'm not usually a fan of cakey donuts. I often find cakey donuts either too dense and heavy or dry, but clearly I never had a good one. I've even tried Federal Donuts in Philly but was not a fan. Anyway, I was finally convinced by others to give it a try. You can either pick from their signature recommendations or customize create your own donut! That in itself is pretty cool! Whatever you do, eat it fresh and warm, because that is when it is the most mind blowing! After sitting for a day they become just meh. You could reheat in the microwave for 8-10 seconds, which does make it better, but the initial magic is gone. Being around the Jersey area, we do love our L & M donuts, but Duck Donuts is a close second. If you have a chance to download the app, I highly recommend it. It is a "create your own donut" place, so you start with a vanilla donut base and then choose an icing topping, a sprinkle or crumb topping and a drizzle. They are some combo suggestions at the front. I went for a glazed, graham cracker topping with a salted caramel drizzle. The donut was served and was delicious! Would recommend stopping by. One of the topics discussed in my home, and with my friends is about the proverbial tip jar. I don't agree with leaving a tip for someone handing me a product off the shelf, placing it in a box, and handing it to me. Duck Donuts is not that stale product of the shelf operation. I watched as the young lady added the coating and the toppings to a plain cake doughnut to create the various choices I made for my 1/2 dozen. I felt awful that I did not leave a tip for the work she put in creating these fancy delicacies. I can say that I will put an extra buck in the jar my next visit, but I don't think I am going back. The staff was friendly, the doughnuts were prepared with artistry, but taste wise, I don't get what all the hype is about. Is it my plain jane taste-buds? Is it my ole school bakery bias? I have consumed fancy doughnuts before from places like Fed Nuts in Philadelphia, and Doughnut Plant in NYC and seemed to truly enjoy those. Four words to describe Duck Donuts: Deliciousness in a box! I was familiar with this donut concept from another amazing donut franchise in Tampa, FL, but my wife and I moved shorty after we discovered it, so we were only able to indulge for a few months :(. This was heartbreaking for me because I have a huge sweet tooth. My face lit up after we walked in to Duck Donuts in Marlton. We finally went to Duck Donuts yesterday, as it was highly recommended to us by a co-worker. Pretty much everything mirrored that of the other franchise, except the Donuts were larger. Unfortunately, the lines were extremely similar. We waited in line for about 15 minutes to order and then another 10 for the actual donuts to come out, but man were they worth it. The Donuts were perfect. I had the maple bacon donut as it is my absolute favorite. The donut almost dissolved in my mouth with the bacon pieces staying intact to finish each bite out with a crunch. The donut was not overpowering with sweetness and was the perfect combination I was looking for. I do feel bad for their washing machine as their aprons were covered in icing, lol. We ordered a 1/2 dozen donuts and 2 regular coffees. The total came to about $15. This will be a regular stop for us, but we know we will have to carve out some time for the line. Don't let the line discourage you. This is a hot new location that will be buzzing for months! When you open at 630, you should be ready to go at 630. I stopped in to grab donuts at 650, didn't leave until 745 due to the staff still setting up. Coffee wasn't out, they were still in the back bring out toppings, making the batter, employees were just coming to their shift, and making bacon etc. They didn't start making order #3 until 720 because they weren't even set up or had topping ready. They were a few small order a head of me, but it shouldn't take almost hour for all the orders, because the staff and the store isn't ready. I understand it takes time to make the donuts and it can get busy. It is unacceptable for it to be due to a extreme unpreparedness of the staff. It is really nice to see a known chain come to the area, bring business, and jobs into the area. However, this is something that needs to be addressed. read more

This is my new favorite donut place! For starters the donuts are made fresh to order so right away you know that you are in for a treat. When you walk in, you place your order with the cashier. While you are placing your order they have pictures of what the donuts look like. You also have the option to create your own. You can order donuts, coffee, donut breakfast sandwiches, and they even do donut sundaes! So far I have only just ordered their donuts but I am eager to try their coffee! Very excited to actually make it here and left feeling a bit mixed. The good was the young man (Terrance) taking our order was super friendly and personable. The maple bacon doughnut was incredibly good and perfectly warm. My gf had brought this donut home a few days after it opened and was def good but coming out fresh it was amazing and I need more. The bad was the girl that called out number and gave us the order was amazingly....there. She wasn't rude necessarily she just called out number and said nothing as we thanked her. Less than two weeks in and with the place dead and she can't even muster anything past a blank face or half hearted smile makes me weep for her future at this place. The powdered donut (as seen in picture) was barely more than a plain doughnut and it certainly wasn't the end of the world but either they got that one wrong or just didn't care. I don't think this will be a place I will be a frequent patron of but if I'm in the area (even though I only live 5 miles away) I might swing by. Stopped in last weekend with my boyfriend before a trip to Trader Joe's and left really impressed. Because the doughnuts are made to order and customizable with toppings, drizzles, and icings, there really is something for everyone here. We ordered what we wanted and two cups of coffee and awaited our doughnut-y goodness. For a spot whose main focus is doughnuts, the coffee was pretty good- we both opted for the lightest roast. The staff was incredibly personable and friendly. You can tell that this place gets pretty busy (especially because it's still relatively new-), but everyone working faced the customers with smiles. The doughnuts themselves were delicious. My boyfriend really enjoyed his maple frosted with sprinkles and me, I'm a traditionalist- so I indulged in a glazed with sprinkles. They don't make the cheapest donut or the fastest donut, so if you want that, Duck Donuts isn't for you. But if you want the best donut you ever had, no doubt partially because you got to pick the topping and drizzle on it, Ducks is for you. They somehow combined the fast casual model (I.e. the Chipotle ordering style) with donuts perfectly. The donut alone, even without toppings, is delicious. It's a cake donut that is perfectly warm, soft, and sweet, but not overbearing. I don't have the worlds biggest sweet tooth so I consistently get the cinnamon sugar donut which is heaven on earth. But they have tons of toppings and recommended suggestions too. If a donut is as much of an occasional treat for you as it is for me, you might as well make it worth it.
