We are big fans of the Oakridge mall food court. I have tried almost all the food stalls at the food court except for a few. Now I can cross off Duan's Kitchen off the list. We arrived for a Saturday early dinner at Duan's Kitchen. The food stall is located at the Oakridge mall in San Jose. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot surrounding the mall. We ordered shrimp fried rice, popcorn chicken, shrimp dumplings and shrimp siu mai. Everything is delicious and tasted like they came from an authentic dim sum restaurant. My favorite was the popcorn chicken which was crispy and tender. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Duan's Kitchen. The staff was friendly and helpful. We don't have to just go to a dim sum restaurant to have some legit dim sum food. We can just go to the mall and straight to the food court at Oakridge for some tasty dim sum. We will definitely be back to try the other food items on the menu.

I had a craving for Taiwanese braised ground pork rice and my Yelp directions took me straight to the Oakridge Mall in San Jose. It's a place located in my the food court. The restaurant has several meal choices, with side favorites like xai long bao. The pork bento box was quite tasty, with braised ground pork, vegetables, small egg roll, kimchi, sweet steamed bread, and I also ordered the popcorn chicken as a side dish. Try it out if you're shopping at the mall!

Located in the main eatery area at Oakridge mall. We picked Duan's Kitchen since we never had and the items on the menu looked appetizing. We placed our order on the kiosk and realized there was an add on deal so we opted for that. For 2 we ordered: - Beef Meat Sauce Bento: 2.5/5 - the eggrolls were drenched in oil and soggy; the bun was okay, only had half of one; the bokchoy and kimchi were good; the meat to rice ratio was a bit sad.. we had barely any meat to even finish the rice. - Popcorn Chicken: 3.5/5 - big pieces, not bad but not great Overall, it was okay wish we didn't have to waste/toss away ~20% of the food.

Had a good time trying out this place with my mom and sister on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm. Not busy whatsoever that there wasn't anyone lingering around waiting for food, so I easily placed my dine in order. They have a variety of soups, bento boxes, and rice based dishes from pork, beef, or chicken. They have a bright lit signs that attract the eyes of shoppers to become diners. It took about 10 minutes for the food, so I was happy with the speed of service. We ordered a bento box, beef soup, and pork fried rice. I was very impressed by the bento box since it was only $10 but had a great variety of kimchi, bok choy, one eggroll, kimchi, 2 fried buns, and meat and rice. The kimchi was refreshing and not too strong. The fried buns were a bit hard but had great flavor from the condensed milk coating. The eggrolls weren't special, reminded me of Panda Express. The soup was underwhelming. The noodles and broth were under seasoned. Good portions but quality wasn't great. The pork fried rice could have been crispier and the rice was okay.

We came on a busy Saturday afternoon. The whole mall is very new & we really like the original location of DCZ in Cupertino, the ordering process was super fast they had a tablet with the photos of items. We did like that there was the beef noodle soup (which honestly is probably their best dish which NO other food appt and we ended up ordering the pork chop fried rice (get this it's freshly prepared!!) compared to panda tbh this is freshly cooked and panda is just sitting under a heatlamp. The ambiance was definitely trying to be fast casual but I do think DCZ in Cupertino sit down style is stilll my fave ambiance for this food :)

Food court setting really degraded the quality of the noodle soup here. Soup wasn't flavorful. Should just stick with the restaurant version

The beef meat sauce bento has been my favorite. Nice beefy flavor with an assortment of other veggies. I like their fried rice with pork chop as well. Great comfort food!

First time here at Duan's Kitchen in Oakridge Mall, and unfortunately it was not a great experience. I ordered the brisket noodle, and while the presentation looked decent, the taste was very disappointing. The broth lacked depth and flavor and tasted very bland, almost like it was missing seasoning or spices. A good noodle soup should be rich and comforting, but this one fell flat. The brisket itself was tender, but it didn't have much flavor either, which made the dish feel unfinished. Even adding condiments didn't help much. The noodles were okay, but without a flavorful broth, the whole meal felt underwhelming. For Chinese food, I was really expecting bold, savory flavors, and that just wasn't the case here. Considering the location inside Oakridge Mall and the price point, I expected a lot more quality and flavor. I wanted to like this place and give it a fair chance, but this meal didn't meet expectations. Overall, the food was edible but not enjoyable, and it's not something I'd order again. Sadly, based on this experience, I won't be coming back.

While wandering Oakridge Mall, I suddenly craved beef noodle soup and stumbled upon this spot. I ordered the N2. Beef Shank Noodle Soup for $18. Heads-up if you're ordering through delivery apps, even for pick up, the price jumps to $21 on DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub. The food was ready in about 5 minutes and overall, it hit the spot. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the beef was tender, the bok choy had a nice crunch and the broth was comforting and satisfying. I slurped it down to the last drop. Is it worth it? I'd say yes considering it's inside a mall. It's convenient, fast and satisfying. With that said, the same price at a traditional noodle house few miles away would usually get you a bigger bowl with more beef and classic toppings such as pickled mustard greens and cilantro.

Finally got a nice beef noodle place close to Blossom valley. Great beef noodle soup as always. Easy dine in and to go options.

It's 2025 and I never would have guessed that I'd be reviewing TWO hand pulled noodles restaurants in TWO separate malls! Life is good. I've been to the stand alone Duan Chun Zhen restaurant in Cupertino and thoroughly enjoyed their rich, flavorful broth with just enough portion to prevent you from overeating. I'm a big fan of that location and a coworker mentioned that their family lives in front of the original location in Taiwan. I was surprised to see this location pop up at Oakridge! Broth was the same beefy and hearty taste and I believe there were several different noodle options. I chose the thicker hand pulled noodles, which I think stands up better to the savory broth. I finished my meal, ordered another to go order for my dad, and it was packed nicely separated so the noodles wouldn't soak up the broth. Like the other noodle place I reviewed, I wish the noodles weren't served in plastic to go containers, but I understand that there are limitations to what you can do at the mall. Cheers to this location, mega props to the guy/owner? who took the time to explain the menu to me. I think it is important to have at least one person around to explain such a menu. I'm going to try one of the rice dishes I've been looking at for some time now...

The Sichuan high wok was tasty, but it got spicier and spicier the more I ate it, so just be ready for that. Honey walnut shrimp came out very crispy and the sauce was light. The flavor was not too bad, but the shrimp flavor did not come through as much. The Yunnan rice noodle soup with pork and pickled cabbage was good, and the soup itself had nice flavor, but I wish it had more meat. Beef and scallion dumplings were average. Sauteed greens were solid and definitely necessary to balance out the meal. Service was relatively quick, which was nice since we ordered a good amount of food. Everything came out at a good pace, and the meal felt easy overall. Nothing too fancy on the service side, but it got the job done. The inside feels like a big cafeteria. With so much ramen competition in the Bay Area, I had to try it out for myself and Uzumakiya's unfortunately does not stand out. It's your standard tonkotsu ramen, but you can definitely find better Hakata-style ramen elsewhere. My personal favorite being Ramen Hajime. To speak more on the ramen itself, the broth leaned more on the thin, watery side rather than the rich, creamy pork bone broth you'd expect from a good tonkotsu. It was also a bit salty. Noodles were fine, al dente. The waiter kindly explained that the only difference between the "Tokusei" (deluxe) ramen and the classic version was an added egg, extra pork belly, and seaweed. That didn't feel worth the additional $5 to me, so I opted for the classic black garlic ramen and added an egg for $2 instead. Overall, I don't think transitioning to ramen was the best move, especially because their udon was so special. I've genuinely never had udon like theirs in the Bay Area, which makes it even more disappointing that they no longer serve it on their normal menu. I'm sure many others feel the same way. I used to come frequently back when they specialized in udon, but I don't think I'll be returning unless they bring it back or if it's for their Aburi Shime Saba. Wishing Uzumakiya all the best regardless!

Even with them moving out to the East Bay, they make periodic drives just to enjoy what KN has to offer. I've had one dining experience here previously and was not impressed. This lead to not returning. Fast forward 2.5 years or so, here I was again. Our large party of 9 arrived at opening hours and the owners were so very welcoming. The restaurant was clean and the condiments were in tip top shape. Our family's order was massive. We started the meal with xiu mai [Vietnamese pork meat balls] and Chinese donut sticks. This then continued with mi do bien, filet mignon and beef ball pho, & a variety of nam vang noodle versions. The great thing about Kali Noodles are the multiple options of noodles they provide. There are a number of combinations that could be made with the 6 offerings. The food was surprisingly really good- so much better than what my first visit was. The bowls were presented neatly but plated in a way where the large chunks of lettuce made the bowls seem a lot more fuller that it really was. The noodle soups also consisted a lot more broth than noodles. Having said that, the egg noodles are really really good!! The restaurant cooks them perfectly- chewy with a slight bite that keeps you wanting more and more. Hu tieu dai was unfortunately too mushy in texture for my liking. 4 stars overall. Customer service from the owners were exceptional. They were attentive to each person's order and were so welcoming. The food was good but maximize the deliciousness by strictly going for the thin egg noodles. You will not be disappointed and this recommendation is coming from a person who typically steers clear of this. I'd happily return.

The melted cheese on top added a creamy, indulgent layer that made the dish even more satisfying. The banchan that came with the meal were delightful and well-prepared, offering a nice variety of flavors that complemented the main dish perfectly. Service was great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it adds to the cozy and intimate dining atmosphere.

When going with AYCE you pick your broth (from the menu) then go make your sauce concoction, grab veggies and such from buffet, and bring everything back to the table. You order the meat from the menu and it will be delivered to your table too (usually very quickly). If you do not want All You Can Eat, you can get any of their pre-made hot pots. The people working there are friendly and helpful.

Been dining at this location for as long as I can remember and I'm definitely a fan of their soups…read more My go-to is their beef hot soup medium spice level which hits the spot every single time. The broth is flavorful, meat slices are fair, and I enjoy all of the other various fish balls, veggies, and more provided as well. Their soybean paste is my favorite and it pairs well with everything. I've dined here when they tried doing Malatang and I wasn't much of a fan so I'm glad they got rid of that style. Now they offer AYCE and I very much enjoy it! They updated the place with new tables and different stations offering a variety of fish balls, veggies, tofu, noodles, a drink station, sauce bar, and more that you can choose from. They also have ice cream to end your meal. As for the meats, out of all the choices I'm a fan of their angus marbled beef slices and angus beef slices. The meats are good quality, not frozen, sliced thin, and cooked very fast. I got the tom yum broth and it was flavorful. It was cool that our server was able to accommodate my mom as she wanted the cheesy milk broth since it isn't offered on the AYCE menu. I was already a fan of their hot pots before the AYCE option, and now I enjoy it even more!
