It was Labor day weekend and I did need some new tennis shoes and dress shoes, so I decided to go to my favorite shoe store, DSW, to see if they had any sales going on for the Labor day weekend. DSW Shoe Warehouse has always been my favorite shoe store and go to place for shoes. They have a great selection of designer shoes, and the price is right for what you pay for. I always go to the clearance rack first in the men's department to see if I can snag some great deals. This Labor day weekend they did have some great deals. I found a pair of New Balance tennis shoes for 30% off and I found a pair of dress shoes for 40% off. The value you get for your shoes is magnificent! The service is good from the staff. They are willing to help you find a particular brand of shoes in your size if it is not out on the display floor. They do go the extra mile for you if you need something. DSW is a fantastic shoe store for shoes and I would not go anywhere else for shoes because it is just that great of a place to shop for shoes. Check out DSW for your next pair of shoes. DSW is a tried-and-true shopping spot for shoes. It's been at Clay Terrace for as long as I can remember, and I hope it never goes away. It's so much easier to try on shoes in person versus ordering online. Depending on the brand and style shoe, I can be a size 9, 9.5, 10 or 10.5. Whether I'm looking for a casual white sneaker, a fashionable sandal, or a simple pair of black dress shoes, there are always options to explore at DSW - and at reasonable price points. There are often sales, and you can sign up for their DSW Rewards program. I'm also typically able to find my shoe size in the styles I'm browsing, too. While a self try-on shoe store could easily be a mess, the aisles are typically clean and clear. All around, a good experience here at DSW! read more

Tried to return a pair of shoes today -- and I swear, the workers were absolutely clueless. How are you going to tell me I can't return shoes I bought TWO days ago with a receipt? Maybe if you actually knew your own return policy -- or better yet, clearly stated it at the time of purchase -- you wouldn't be wasting people's time. If you work in customer service and can't explain basic policies, you honestly don't deserve the job. read more

DSW overwhelms me. There must be over an acre of shoes in the store. I don't often find what I looking for but I learned something useful today. A clerk encouraged me to shop online and if the shoes do not work I could return them at the store. The return policy is a generous 60 days. I normally like to try shoes for comfort first, but will give this a try. They carry in-season shoes in the store and clearance racks of post season shoes that get marked down progressively. Today, they had boots, athletic shoes, dress and casual shoes. I was looking for sandals for an upcoming trip and was out of luck. But I will check on line. They carry a limited assortment of handbags but a broad assortment of specialty accessories including hosiery. Check out was very, very painfully slow with customer returns taking a lot of time to process and only two clerks. We waited a good fifteen minutes to move forward one spot to check out. The line was quite long when we left. I guess we needed a Disney fast pass. The clerks were friendly despite the crowd. The store is accessible with plenty of nearby parking. read more

Didn't need anything but had some expiring coupons (that's how they getcha!) so I stopped in. I always make a bee-line for the Clearance section first and often don't need to visit the rest of the store. Tonight was no exception. They had some cute heeled and flat boots, dress shoes, casual sneakers, and even some sandals (still, in February) in my size. I found some I forgot I needed and some I didn't know I needed ;) The Clearance shoes are stickered with color-coded discounts from 20-60% off, and since I also had a "progressive coupon" (eg. $10 off $49, $20 off $99, $60 off $199), it was time for some serious math. I ended up getting a few (!) pair and was able to apply to my haul, on top of the clearance prices, 3 different discounts. The trick with DSW definitely is to join their VIP program such that you get points, which translate to $off coupons, for purchases, shoe donations, and occasional product reviews. You also get $off coupons for your birthday and during special sales, which are generally very often. Furthermore, you can opt into 2x and 3x points days which can increase your $off coupons that much more. They have an app that makes it easy to track, and you can opt in to emails. So, that is how I ended up with 3 different discounts to apply. The cashiers at this location are generally helpful and well-trained. I've been in often to notice that the manager can seem a little high strung, but she has helped me through some tricky returns and exchanges so it's fine. Yes the line can sometimes be long, so I browse until the line goes down. I also shop DSW online. If you find a shoe but not the size you need, they will look for it in other stores and ship it to you for free. I've taken advantage of this handy feature a handful of times (especially for my picky teenager) and love it. If you are in to take advantage of a free giveaway with purchase, be aware that they almost always run out in the first few days. In the 4-5 times I've tried for it I've only gotten a gift w/purchase once, unlike most other stores that run these sorts of promos. They also have a good selection of bags, tights and other hosiery, and some travel accessories. I generally buy all my shoes and accoutrements either here or at Nordstrom's The Rack, but DSW has much better selection. read more

One of my go-to spots for shoes. I don't like ordering shoes online, as it's hard to find a shoe that fits perfectly. Just ask Cinderella. I appreciate that I can pop in here, have tons of options, and not have to ask employees to find my size. You can help yourself, try on ten similar items to see which one feels best, and head on your way. There's also usually a pretty decent coupon with their rewards system, and I've found some of my favorite shoes ever on their sales racks. Along my route of redeeming loyalty birthday rewards; I stopped in to DSW to redeem my rewards. I had $10 worth of coupons to redeem. I was only trying to redeem my rewards with as little out of pocket as possible. I have enough shoes, boots, and sandals to last a lifetime. I wish I could say that's an exaggeration but it's not. Because my goal was to pop in and out quickly; I headed straight to the accessories section. I found a multi pack of socks for my grandson and a camo print fanny pac perfect to hold my phone while walking. I ended up spending a couple of bucks out of pocket. DSW has a good loyalty program and I like to redeem the rewards given. read more

Generally the store associates have seemed helpful and friendly with the exception of one. This guy was so rude and unprofessional to his associate while standing in front of a line full of customers. He was so disrespectful to her, if i was his manager he would've been canned on the spot. She was embarrassed and he has zero right to treat people like that. read more

This store is such a rip off. I visited and found a pair of boots that I liked, but thought they were a little pricey for what I had planned on spending. So I went home and looked online, and immediately the DSW site offered me $20 off, but I can't pick them up from that location for 4-7 business days, even though I saw them there an hour ago. I asked customer service if I can just pay for them online and pick them up right away (or price match in store), and they said no. So then I looked on the manufacturer's own website for $40 cheaper. read more

This place is big and lots of options. One thing I really appreciate is that there are plenty of employees all around. Everyone seems pleasant and offers their help without being overbearing. Huge selection of footwear and other accessories. The clearance section is always stocked up, and that's usually the only area I look at in the store. I've managed to snag a few awesome deals over the years. It seems like the very best times to hit up the clearance section is when the seasons are in transition. I just went to DSW yesterday and the clearance was full of super cute summery heels and flats. Great location in Clay Terrace and just off Keystone/US-31. Music is upbeat and funky. I'm never shopping here again. I ordered shoes online, paid for them with Afterpay for the first time. I go to the store to return one of the shoes in the order and instead the cashier returns the shoes and repurchases a bigger size but on a merchant credit. I called to cancel the entire order because I wanted my refund for 2/3 shoes. Was told several times by two managers that the order would be cancelled and yet my order still hasn't been cancelled. DSW online won't do anything because it's in the store's hands but they seem to care more about money than customer service. read more

This place is huge with a big selection of all types of shoes. Their clearance section was the biggest I have seen at any of their stores. I think they have a few too many people on the floor because I got asked about half a dozen times if I needed help. That's better than not being able to find anyone if you have a question but it's also an indication that they could probably cut back on the help. I've been to this massive shoe store several times, always just to see if their clearance section possessed any worthwhile size 13s. I will get lucky from time to time, like a pair of Clark shoes that were 60% off, which is a good deal for the particular pair. However: Why does the staff constantly talk to one another in their earpiece/microphones? What on Earth could merit the constant interchange of shoe-related gossip? The staff is always well dressed, and generally kind enough, but seriously--It is a shoe store. The freakin' Secret Service talks less on their high-tech walkie-talkies. Why such a massive building? The ceiling is approximately 900 feet tall. And the shoe shelves only go up to my waist. I suppose a store must cater to both the severely height inclined and disadvantaged, but this store must cost three million dollars a day to keep at a pleasant shopping temperature. Finally, who the heck buys the blue microsuede trendily printed with scrolling design slip on dude shoes that cost 119 bucks? I'm certainly one for looking interesting and professional, but c'mon. But I suppose there may still be a market for court jester style toe curlers? read more

Sadly zero stars is not an option but I was trying to buy a pair of shoes and I tried to flag down an associate to see if they had my size. Her name was Diana and she rushed past me making eye contact and giving me a very dirty look not even saying anything to me. I walked away and put the shoes back and then later went back trying to see if I could flag her down again as everyone else was at the register and she did the same thing again and went to some display shoes and started fiddling with them. They need more people on the floor or at least associates who are willing to help a customer. read more

Giving this store just two stars. One for cleanliness as it's always clean when I've visited. The second star is for the staff. They are friendly and not pushy at all. More than willing to help with the limited supply they are given. With that being said, this location has yet to have larger sizes in stock and I've tried multiple times over the years. They must order 1-2 pairs for anything size 9 and up. Except of course in heels. Always a bunch of leftovers in those. Not sure there's a large percentage of ladies out there who wear a 10+ that need the extra height. I'm told I can order online, they have it at another store, etc. Once, just once, it would be nice to buy something in store and leave feeling just as happy as those who wear smaller sizes. Will be happy to retract this review when something changes but been disappointed way to many times to think that will happen. Let's hope I'm wrong. read more

As a shoe lover, I frequent this DSW often. I'm always greeted when I walk in the door, and the workers on the floor are eager to help. There have been a few times that I haven't found what I'm looking for, but it's rare. For the most part, I end up buying more than what I went in for! read more

The employees were really helpful, one person helped me pick out some extra shoe pads for a pair of shoes that were a little too big (I am between sizes, all the shoes were either too big or too small) Decent deal on shoes but same as other DSW stores. They were having a "massive clearance sale" 70% off . Neon green banners everywhere in the store. You walk down the shoe aisle and randomly you would see neon green stickers on some of the shoeboxes. I asked the sales clerk if the neon green stickers (that matched their neon green banners) indicated the shoes/sizes that were on clearance. "No those are just random sizing stickers." The " massive clearance sale" was basically a few aisles. read more
