Stout's Footwear is such a gem, and I love supporting a store with deep Indiana roots. Established…read morein 1886, they've built a reputation for carrying hard-to-find sizes and as someone with small feet, that truly matters. Most stores don't carry a size 5 in Hoka, which is my preferred brand to run in, but Stout's had exactly what I needed. I didn't even go in expecting to leave with shoes, but with Robert's expertise and friendly persuasion, I walked out with the perfect pair. The Bondi 9 might be the most comfortable shoe I've ever put on my feet -- an absolute game changer. I can be particular about color and sometimes hard to please when I have something specific in mind, but Robert went above and beyond to help me find the right fit. He was knowledgeable and genuinely eager to help. I left feeling confident in my purchase and so happy with the experience. Stout's is officially my go-to place to shop for high-end running shoes!

He was so patient and really listened when I answered his question about how the shoes felt. He tried different brands to make sure it was the right fit. I made a comment about being lazy with my toe shoes and sliding them on (I know, that's a bad habit). He found a solution for that, too! He was able to find multiple pairs to fit my needs, then even found something to fit my husband. Great experience!

One of the pairs, my Footjoy Classics Spikeless, stopped being produced in 2009 so I wasn't sure how difficult of a project this might be for Mike. Turns out they look better than they did when they were new! More support, better constructed, and they look brand new. Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them. The price is right at Cento Shoes and they carry all the good and necessary shoe care products to keep your shoes in great shape and well nourished. Jennifer who works in the front of the house is just amazing and super kind. She got me taken care of in no time and while I was there picking up my shoes I got some new socks and shoe care accessories too. Cento Shoes has been around longer than I have been alive and Mike Cento has the same passion for shoes that I do. Footwear is really important to me. If it is important to you and want support a locally-owned family business of 50+ years that brings footwear back to life, go see Mike and Jennifer at Cento Shoes, you will not be disappointed. Mike is like the Obi-Wan Kenobi of shoe recrafting. He has a new customer and a friend for life. Thank you!!!

I showed up today after a very long drive already in a mediocre mood. I went up to the front desk to ask about a Facebook Marketplace agreement I had made for a sofa set and the price, only to find out there had been some miscommunication. At first I honestly thought I might have been scammed, which instantly put me in a terrible mood. I definitely huffed around and complained about how far I had driven while trying to sort it out. Long story short...the Facebook Marketplace dealer was not a scam at all. We had simply misunderstood which pieces we were talking about. Fast forward to the end of the visit: three employees (two gentlemen and a woman / I'm sad I didn't get their names) helped me load everything and went the extra mile in every way. They were incredibly kind to me... even after my less-than-great attitude earlier. I tipped them and apologized for being grumpy, but I have to say I left there genuinely believing in people again. They handled the situation with so much patience and kindness. Very cool experience. I'll absolutely be back (with a better attitude!) and I'll be paying that kindness forward. Thank you to those three employees....even helped load my trailer. Seriously nice. Like....extra! Thank yoU!
