Daria is a true professional in her field. She knows how to do even the most difficult haircuts for purebred dogs, including proper breed-specific and show cuts. It's nearly impossible to find anything close to the quality of her work in most grooming salons in the Bay Area, where the majority of places only offer shaving or very basic cuts. Daria, however, was trained and gained her experience in Europe, where grooming standards are much higher. My dog is an English Cocker Spaniel, a breed with one of the most high-maintenance coats among spaniels. In the Bay Area, there are very few groomers who actually know how to properly care for this breed. Daria takes care of everything the right way, from brushing and deshedding to ear cleaning, paw and pad trimming, proper breed-specific cuts, and even partial hand-stripping. She also takes the time to gently work out any mats in the coat, which makes a huge difference. On top of that, my dog is not easy to handle, she's very sensitive, nervous, and afraid of almost everything. But Daria handles her beautifully, always with patience and kindness, and I honestly don't know how she manages to achieve that.

Took my bichon/poodle mix for his first grooming appointment with Darya! Scheduling was fairly easy online, and Darya was very communicative and easy to talk to. When I came to pick him up, I was shocked by how handsome he looked - he looked completely different but in a good way! The grooming took about 2 hours, and you can tell Darya puts in a lot of effort and time into the process. She also gave us a little bag of treats to take home. read more

I got my first puppy (a mini Golden Doodle named Berkeley) back in November, and I was really nervous about finding an affordable yet high quality groomer. I took a chance on D's pet spa after reading Yelp reviews, and it was the best decision I have made! D's pet spa is the only place I bring my 20lb male cat to get nail trims, bathed, brushed, and sanitary trimmed. She is awesome, he comes home so fresh and soft every time! My cat doesn't like anyone but now he has warmed up to here. My two cats were flea ridden! But Darya not only got rid of the fleas but also cut theirs nails and cleaned their ears! Although my older cat was really mean to her she was still able to get her groomed! 5 stars through and through and i would defiantly recommend anyone to visit her! Darya was very quick and responsive and was able to set up an appointment for my cat, Mimo, very soon! My cat is very timid and afraid of new experiences but Darya did a wonderful job taking care of Mimo (even when Mimo had a few 'accidents' during the grooming ) and once Mimo was home, she was so happy to be clean and deshedded!! I'm sure Mimo appreciates Darya, just in her own way I highly recommend Darya, and I love that she sent some cute pictures of Mimo after the grooming session, and also gave Mimo some treats. I was thrilled to find Darya, who was conveniently located nearby and available to groom Fluffy the next day. I took my two 6 months old kittens in for their first grooming session and I don't know how Darya did it, but she handled them both so well. She did an excellent job with their trimming and grooming, they came out looking so nice and clean, and their fur was so so soft. I had also specifically asked for trimming of a certain area for one of the kittens and she did a great job taking care of that as well. Darya did a very nice job grooming her and was very detail oriented and careful. I had also brought my other dog, a Jack Russel mix to get his nails trimmed, and Darya suggested hand stripping him-- what a difference! We can see his spots for the first time since he was a puppy. After working as an engineer for 15 years, I made a career change when my baby was born. My love for animals and a desire for a more fulfilling profession led me to pursue a grooming business. With over 1.5 years of experience as a groomer, I have discovered a deep passion for caring for and beautifying animals. My engineering background has equipped me with attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic, which I apply to my grooming business. I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable grooming experience for every furry client, ensuring they look and feel their best.

Meet the Business Owner: Dasha S.

Moving from Belarus to Mountain View was a significant change in my life. However, due to my limited knowledge of English and the responsibilities of taking care of a small child, I found it challenging to secure a job at a local salon. Instead of being disheartened, I decided to channel my passion for grooming into starting my own business. Working from home not only allows me to overcome language barriers but also provides me with the flexibility to care for my child. It's a win-win situation that enables me to pursue my career while being present for my family. With a deep love for animals and a desire to create a comfortable environment for them, I opened my grooming business. By offering personalized services, I aim to ensure that each pet receives the utmost care and attention. I got a full bath session for my pet exotic shorthair…read more When I adopted him from a rescue he came with ringworm, and after 3 months of being in a cone and biweekly lime sulfur dips he was finally free of it. But, due to the inability to groom himself with a cone on, and the harsh chemical nature of lime sulfur his paws and face had gotten quite dirty while his overall fur and skin became very dry and damaged. Wet Paw's did a great job! They approaching grooming cats and dogs differently, since both animals have different grooming and temperamental needs. I really appreciate them explaining the differences to me and informing me of what they plan to use and do. And I liked being able to see a video of the bathing and drying process (I think they showed me out of courtesy, I'm not sure if they record every session). I've got to say, I have never seen my cat's face so clean. Due to the smushed-face nature of exotics they tend to have issues with crevices with dirt/food/dead skin accumulation and staining from weeping. But, my cat's face has never been so clean!! It has convinced me that maybe I should bring him in more often, as I did not know his face could be this clean (and I wipe his face daily). Not a single spec of dirt on his face that night I wiped his face wrinkles! I also want to thank them for putting extra time in conditioning my cat's fur. As mentioned earlier, his skin and fur was in a bad state due to 3 months worth of lime sulfur dips. It really helped him, and I think he is feeling less itchy too (they noted he had a lot of dry skin). One thing to note, was that I brought in the cat carrier while holding it. And I think they were were respectful as they did not leave my carrier on the floor. And only put it on the floor after I let them know it's okay to place it there. It's a small gesture that I could have easily missed, but I really want to express my appreciation of that kind of thoughtfulness. Some things to consider when you bring your cat: I think it would probably be asked in their intake form. But, during the session they gave some treats to my cat (they informed me of this, so it was not a surprise), so if your cat has any food allergies I would bring it up. Second, the conditioner they used on my cat has a scent. So, if your cat is sensitive to scents maybe you can bring it up and ask if there is scent free conditioner. They're very accommodating and I don't think it hurts to ask in advance. That you for the amazing groom! Feline approved.

Where do I even begin!! We recently moved from out of state and were desperately trying to find a cat groomer for our Maine Coon, Nova. Her prior groomer said that because of her anxiety it was one of the most dangerous grooms she did because of how scared and flinchy Nova would be, even with gabapentin. So high anxiety for us as well because she would always get so stressed. It took longer to find someone than we had expected, so she was long over due for her cut, but oh my gosh it was such a wonderful experience! Darya was SO kind and understanding, very easy to communicate with. We talked about what we thought would work best for this transition beforehand, and the day of was super smooth! Baby girl came back sleek and happy Darya also gave us some coat advice and incite into some of the things the prior groomer was doing, which was super helpful. I recently took both my pups here! I couldn't be more impressed with the service! Both my pups can be a bit nervous, but Darya handled them with such patience. Also, the grooming itself was fantastic! Darya paid attention to every little request that I had - and both my pups looked absolutely gorgeous after the bath, trim, and nail clipping. Their coat was soft, shiny, and perfectly styled, just the way I had requested. Overall, I highly recommend D's Pet Spa! She clearly loves what she does, and it shows.
