This is a puli who is brushed and cut vs. corded. Straight from Critter Clippers.

I have been going to Critter Clippers and seeing owner Linda for three decades. My dogs have not been the easiest to groom. I've owned two pulis, a breed of Hungarian sheepdogs that has super dense hair (not fur). Linda has bathed, brushed, trimmed and sculpted my muscular, sturdy dogs. She loves them, and they have loved her. Linda's attention to the kind of cut I want - stovepipe legs, straight up hair on the head and nothing that resembles a poodle - is outstanding. She has tremendous patience with animals and pet parents, and she has shown through her own pet ownership that she deeply loves animals. I'm so glad she's reopened after the Covid-19 shutdown. I trimmed my dog myself for a bit, and found that my appreciation for Linda, while always huge, grew 10x. And so with that heightened regard, I submit this long overdue review. Linda and Critter Clippers rock.

This place is amazing! This was my first time taking my baby Tippy to Critter Clippers and we were NOT disappointed. The owner cares so much about making sure each dog is comfortable, and ensuring the right cut - to leave the owner and pup happy. I've never trusted someone with my dog more! Linda (the owner's name I believe) is SO NICE and knows SO much about dogs. She knows so much about dogs' health - she even told me a toothbrush brand to try out for my dog's teeth. She also let me know that having my dog's ear hair pulled out would leave him susceptible to infection - which was helpful for me to make an informed decision (we left his ears furry!) His coat is so soft and it's already been 24 hours since he was groomed. Definitely will be back!! Just a note that this is a higher end groomer, so the prices match that expertise.

Pleasant owner and very communicative. That said, eighty-something price tag for regular trimming became $150 because a cut to even his coat was recommended. Despite providing a picture of what his breed (cavapoochon) should look like, we got something else. Also, if you don't like seeing all your puppy's private parts, specify specify-eek!

I have recently started taking Toby to Linda. Reason I like her 1. She is very gentle with Toby, she takes time to understand the cut I want and reconfirms when I pick up Toby. 2. Toby doesn't like to be in crate or stay in leash, she adjusts his time accordingly so that she can groom him in one go. I got late couple of times and I was happy to see there was a groomer playing with Toby. 3. I get a reminder call a day before the grooming(trust me it really helps). 4. It's very clean.

I've been a big fan of since taking our Samoyed for many years. They always did fantastic work on such a hard to groom, fluffy dog. And Trixie loved being there. Today, I took our new Chihuahua there for the first time. He loved it. The staff took amazing care of him, including special attention to his nails which can't just be clipped. We'll be back soon!

Soda Pop after Amy spruced her up so beautifully. We love Amy! ...& Linda, Daniel & all. Miss Pop gets so excited when they greet her! :-)

I got a full bath session for my pet exotic shorthair…read more When I adopted him from a rescue he came with ringworm, and after 3 months of being in a cone and biweekly lime sulfur dips he was finally free of it. But, due to the inability to groom himself with a cone on, and the harsh chemical nature of lime sulfur his paws and face had gotten quite dirty while his overall fur and skin became very dry and damaged. Wet Paw's did a great job! They approaching grooming cats and dogs differently, since both animals have different grooming and temperamental needs. I really appreciate them explaining the differences to me and informing me of what they plan to use and do. And I liked being able to see a video of the bathing and drying process (I think they showed me out of courtesy, I'm not sure if they record every session). I've got to say, I have never seen my cat's face so clean. Due to the smushed-face nature of exotics they tend to have issues with crevices with dirt/food/dead skin accumulation and staining from weeping. But, my cat's face has never been so clean!! It has convinced me that maybe I should bring him in more often, as I did not know his face could be this clean (and I wipe his face daily). Not a single spec of dirt on his face that night I wiped his face wrinkles! I also want to thank them for putting extra time in conditioning my cat's fur. As mentioned earlier, his skin and fur was in a bad state due to 3 months worth of lime sulfur dips. It really helped him, and I think he is feeling less itchy too (they noted he had a lot of dry skin). One thing to note, was that I brought in the cat carrier while holding it. And I think they were were respectful as they did not leave my carrier on the floor. And only put it on the floor after I let them know it's okay to place it there. It's a small gesture that I could have easily missed, but I really want to express my appreciation of that kind of thoughtfulness. Some things to consider when you bring your cat: I think it would probably be asked in their intake form. But, during the session they gave some treats to my cat (they informed me of this, so it was not a surprise), so if your cat has any food allergies I would bring it up. Second, the conditioner they used on my cat has a scent. So, if your cat is sensitive to scents maybe you can bring it up and ask if there is scent free conditioner. They're very accommodating and I don't think it hurts to ask in advance. That you for the amazing groom! Feline approved.

It was so bad that I bought shears myself and have been bathing and cutting his hair at home. I've been trying to get into Jenna's calendar for months now and am so glad I waited! She smoothed over all my rookie choppy hair cutting and made my li'l boy look ever so handsome again. And she did it in half the time the mobile van took! Booking was simple and easy - I texted Jenna the current/old pics I had of my dog, mentioned the coat condition/length, age, and what kind of cut I wanted. I inquired about the price and availability and it was within my range and booked it for the next following week. I also sent her photos of "cute shih tzu teddy bear cut" of what I wanted, and she said she was able to do it. I drove all the way from San Jose to Palo Alto into her shop (located at a neighborhood house). I was able to drop my dog off a bit early and Jenna took him in. Meeting her in person was really nice and she was very friendly and sweet to my dog and I! Jenna let me know that my dog would be finished in 1.5-2 hours ish. When I picked up my dog, he was EXTRA CUTE and Jenna nailed the teddy bear cut artwork of what I was looking for!!! My dog was happy and my family is happy. I will totally go back to Jenna again for future cuts. Highly recommend & fyi she takes Venmo/check/cash.
