When I was little, my parents would get me a six pack of Dr. Pepper as a treat on a semi-annual basis. Other than that, my relationship with soda was as flat as a 2-liter bottle on day 3. Usually I just mixed seltzer with fruit juice and that was more than sufficient for me; then I discovered Reed's products and retailers started carrying Mexican Coke. After that, HFCS-based sodas tasted awful to me. Soda was back on my radar, but more importantly I began to seek more obscure HFCS-free sodas to quench my thirst. One day, while cruising the aisles at Wegmans, I spied DRY Lavender and was immediately enchanted. After a sip, I became an instant fan. Since then, I've tried Cucumber, Vanilla Bean and Blood Orange. I actually found Blood Orange at my local Homegoods (they had Lavender as well) priced at $3.99. Deal! I noticed that a lot of people have relatively sharp opinions regarding some of the flavors, so I'll throw mine into the ring: Cucumber is awesome - incredibly refreshing - I'm guessing Bath & Body Works' cucumber melon soap ruined it for some people. Lavender is incredible and I don't understand why the flavor isn't more widely used. Vanilla Bean tastes like a clean & pure cream soda without the HFCS stickiness. Blood Orange was my least favorite so far; a little weak, nothing wrong with it though. I can't wait to try Rhubarb and Juniper Berry, if I can find them! I hope to see some more herbal and floral flavors, maybe even tea-inspired... elderflower, coriander, jasmine, fingerlime! read more

My husband and I felt so lucky to stumble upon this place and the free soda tasting!! I'm pregnant at the moment, and it was such a treat! After tasting all of them, I will def. be buying these (especially Lavender!) even though I'll have to pay to ship them since they aren't sold in my area. The sodas have less sugar than a "normal" soda (based on 50-70 kcal per 12 oz bottle probably 1/4 to 1/3 the sugar), and is made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, so these are perfect when you want a refreshment that doesn't hit you over the head with sweetness. read more

I was recently reminded of this place driving my the hood on this weekends food trip here in Seattle. I WAS here a few years ago with my best friend. It's a low cal soda shop where we did lectures and tasting. The soda is sold back home, however, it was nice to be at the main store front. I am addicted to the cucumber soda (yes you heard me). I've tried Dry Soda at Ray's Boathouse and a couple of other places. Perfect refreshing drink if you're alternating wine and non alcoholic drinks at dinner but don't want water. Blood Orange is the strongest flavor to me so best on its own but Rhubarb and Lemongrass are yummy with food. read more

I can't recommend the product but I can recommend a tasting at Dry Soda. I used to have an office above them and we'd come down occasionally to sample. The very idea of a soda tasting is a bit silly and usually one of the clowns I came in with would begin to challenge the server on that very concept. Then, onto the drinks. Giving out samples has to be counter productive for Dry Soda. Most everything tastes the same with only very minor hints of difference. I don't understand. read more

I would give this place a 3.5 in regards to taste. I walked in with my bf and was kindly greeted by girl working behind the counter. She asked us if we'd like to sample the sodas. She have us each a wine glass and we tried the: vanilla, cherry, apple, and blood orange. The sodas are called "dry soda" because there is less sugar so it's got more of a carbonated crisp. I really enjoyed the apple the most and the cherry. The blood orange does not taste like blood orange, and the vanilla is close to a creamsicle taste. They definitely need to work on the ambience, not very inviting. But I will admit that the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

What an amazing experience! I randomly found this place on yelp and decided to visit. I was the only person there and they treated me like royalty. I tried all the drinks one by one and the employee serving me was extremely knowledgeable about the soda and its contents. I really loved the rhubarb and blood orange flavor and was pleasantly surprised by the juniper berry flavor. Great products, awesome employees, what more can you ask for? read more

I really expected to love this soda. No artificial sweetener, not too sugary, interesting flavors ... should have been a home run. (One of my favorite homemade soft drinks is mineral water flavored with just a little bit of fruit juice.) Rhubarb is one of my favorite things, so I tried that flavor as an accompaniment to an otherwise fantastic vegetarian meal at a very nice restaurant in Dry's native Seattle. I wish I could say I detected any hint of rhubarb in the stuff. Instead, it tasted like plastic. One of my dinner companions ordered the lemongrass Dry soda and couldn't finish it. I tasted some of hers and had pretty much the same reaction I had to the rhubarb. (Where's the lemongrass?) Yes, the minimal sweetness could be a win. The problem is that the rest of the flavoring is even more minimal. As in, "nearly absent." read more

I've never been to the tasting room, but I've tried their soda. It's amazing! I really dislike the overly sugared soda that one usually gets. It overwhelms any meal you eat, and it really just isn't that good. These dry sodas are delicious alone (it's a subtle but good flavor) and fantastic as a drink to pair with food. I really wish this stuff was more available, because I'd love to have it with a restaurant meal. I've mostly had their lavender soda, but I want to try the others. My dad couldn't taste the lavender. I don't know why. I've always been very sensitive to different flavors (I always went straight for the all-natural cereals because I disliked the taste of the preservatives in the kid cereals). I want them to come up with a ginger soda. I've had, and enjoyed, ginger ale, but I'd love a lower sugar version. I'm hoping to try more soon. read more

False advertisement: The company advertizes its soda as having 4 "ALL NATURAL" ingredients, but this is a lie. It contains Phosphoric acid for flavoring - phosphoric acid is NOT "all natural", it's an artificial flavoring cooked up in a lab, used as a cheaper mass-produced alternative to natural flavorings like citric acid. If you want a soda that really is All Natural, try a brand like Blue Sky or Zevia. I refuse to buy DrySoda based on false advertisement alone. read more

I first tried Dry Soda over a year ago at Seven Salon. Vanilla was the first flavor I had and I immediately fell in love. Over time I tried a few different flavors of Dry Soda at Seven until they sadly stopped carrying it. Since I had never seen it before, I thought I probably wouldn't ever see it again.....that is until I found it at QFC! Since Dry Soda is so addicting I decided to look it up online to learn more about it and found that they had a location downtown where you could get tastings. At once I knew that this was an adventure I would soon go on. Except.....it wasn't soon. It ended up taking me a year and a half to get around to going due to a busy schedule and friends (who I had also gotten addicted to Dry Soda) canceling. But hey, at least I finally ended up going. My roommate and I ended up going together and we had expected it to be where they made Dry Soda (like when you go to a chocolate factory and they give you a tour and then samples) but it turned out to be a small location near the Grand Central Bakery. They had cute stools for you to sit on while they gave you champagne glasses and samplings of each of their flavors in an expertly coordinated order. They have come out with a lot of new flavors since i first tried Dry Soda so i was really excited to try them all and I'm definitely glad I did since I found a few new favorites! I wish they would have given us the champagne glasses to keep but alas they did not. If anyone who works for the Dry Soda company is reading this, please offer a deal where if you buy two packs or more (which both my roommate and I ended up doing....you can even mix and match flavors per pack!) you get one of those cute champagne flutes with the Dry Soda logo on them! On a weekend trip to Seattle my midwest friends and I decided to stop by and do a tasting. I was surprised that the soda didn't have more taste (even natural taste). Their flavors come from what I view as very strong ingredients, but the soda tastes watered down. Cool idea, good experience, great straws. read more

My favorite is the rhubarb - tart, slightly sweet and refreshing. I've never cared for overly sweet soda and I find these much more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying all of the flavors. read more
