This is a new place for me, so as an occasional visitor, I just had to try them out. I visited one afternoon to see their offerings, as they have regular everyday offerings, and special offerings that, if I remember correctly, change monthly. Then, leaving town the next morning, I swung by for the treats to bring home. The place itself is light and open, and well decorated with display cases to the front and the order counter off to one side. I ordered all-new flavors for myself, including lavender honey, pistachio raspberry, strawberry rosé, blueberry lemon, maple bacon, and s'mores. At home, we had a tasting fest, and strangely, much to my chagrin, the s'mores were the LEAST favored! They were described as dry and not tasting "s'morey," and the kids didn't like the "burned marshmallows." So, the s'mores, of which I bought four, sat relatively uneaten save for some nibbles on the edges here and there. The next least favorite was the maple bacon, which also went uneaten. Now, at over $4 for a special donut ($4.02), that caught my attention, but we live and learn. The other flavors were delicious and quite different! They were actually quite fresh and soft compared to the s'mores. We took our time, and even after about two or three days, they were still good. I think that my faves were the blueberry lemon, the pistachio, and the strawberry rosé. The lavender honey was also quite good, too, now that I think about it, so I guess my favorites were all the ones other than the s'mores and maple bacon. In any case, always good to try new things, and with the special flavors here, you will have a chance to do that. read more

Came here to try one of its gourmet doughnuts but ended up enjoying its sandwich more. Doughnuts were good but I'm surrounded by fancy doughnut shops in my area so wasn't overly thrilled. For this area, I would say this place has the best doughnuts. Harvest Moon sandwich was excellent. It's a sandwich with egg, sausage patty, cheddar cheese, arugula, and chipotle aioli. At first I thought it was a bagel sandwich, but the description on the menu indicates savory doughnut. It was definitely a lot softer than a bagel. Red, White, and Blueberry doughnut was pretty good. Was pretty soft with decent amount of blueberry flavor. Dark Chocolate Old Fashioned was just ok. Nothing wrong with the taste but just tasted pretty standard. I wanted to come back on my second day in Solvang to try more of its sandwiches but my plans changed. Will definitely give it another try on my next visit. It's located in a beautiful building with a very elegant interior. It's the fanciest looking doughnut shop I've ever seen. It has another location in Buellton, which is the original location, but its hours of operation are very limited. read more

Came to the the solvang location since I was in town. The place is very spacious inside and a great place enjoy a drink with a friend(s). The doughnuts were very tasty but the drinks stood out for me. The lady helping us was very nice and helped us decide was tasty doughnuts to try and recommended drinks for us as well. read more

This is the newest location of Drover's donuts. I used to visit the original location in Buelton however, the hours and selections in my opinion are better at this location. This location is also better suited for sitting and enjoying your treats and coffee. read more

honestly I was worried about the matcha flavor when I saw the color, but it was surprisingly very tasty! and the donut was so cute and yummy! I ate half there and the other half the next morning - it was still pretty good! a fun, modern little spot in the middle of solvang's small village feel. will definitely stop by again on our next visit to the area! read more

We got there shortly after they opened and I was expecting a nice warm fresh tasting donut (okay maybe not warm) but what we got was a semi cold, semi hard mediocre tasting donut. We go to lots of donut shops and this one misses the mark. The donut is more cakey than doughy. For reference we got the chocolate and the crumble. The actual chocolate topping tasted nice but other than that no flavor, the crumble had no flavor at all and was dry. My boyfriend who looooooves donuts was not to happy with them and I thought they were more like donuts that were previously frozen and thawed out over night. We were so excited to try this spot but both agreed we would not be back. Stick to the danishes when in Solvang. read more

Every donut tastes the same "SUGAR". Way way way to sweet. We got half a dozen mixed donuts on our road trip up to San Francisco. We went here because they had really good reviews on Yelp .My husband and I tried to eat them, We took a bite of the different ones and we could not tell the difference in the flavors. We just ended up throwing away the whole box. Spent almost 40$ on a box of cardboard sugar. I'm giving them three stars because the ladies inside were very very sweet and helpful. Who knew a breakfast doughnut sandwich could be this good? It might sound a little wild, but it totally works. I had the chance to try one during a work meeting where they were served as breakfast, and I was seriously impressed.
