I drove to drip collective today, I live an hour away with traffic. I came for the mango sticky rice matcha. Once I walked in immediately I was greeted by a lighter skin male with a curly Afro, I was told they cannot make the last 3 of the specialty drinks. (The drink I came for included). I was told "we are short on bodies (staff), you came 45 minutes before close, and we don't have the ingredients to make the drink" He even felt so bad that he gave me an industry discount on my ube matcha. I sat at the counter and drank my beverage, and right behind me 3 staff members were sitting in the middle of the lounge. (I pieced it together because they were going behind the counter like employees, and then going back out) So I shrug and say whatever, it's fine. But then, 3 white people came in maybe 15 minutes after me, ordered 2 of the mango sticky rice matcha. I went up and asked the group if that's what it was to be sure..... indeed it was. So I told a different employee and they made me the drink free. I'm not sure if this was racial, laziness, or just poor customer service. But I will never go back. And won't recommend it. The ambience was a low key vibes with chill music playing. They used a projected to show an anime show on the wall. The wall art was by a Filipino American displaying peace signs. We've been here 4 times. Tried their ube latte, sesame latte, pourovers and espresso tonic. They were all good but pretty pricey. They are consistently good, which is important for a coffee shop, but nothing super special. The vibes are friendly but give you that "cool" distance feel. I think if you are in the neighborhood this is worth trying. read more

This coffee shop has been on my list for so long and definitely enjoyed it so much! If you are not from Chicago let me just give you a heads up, this place gets PACKED so make sure if you come you are prepared to wait. It's definitely vibe here with the live DJ and they have some fashion artists selling clothing and other nice finds! We were able to try their newest breakfast sandwich collab and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was a small but good portion and it was salty but a hint of sweet. [The open times are wrong here. Theyre open at 7am during the week and 8am weekends; 7 days.] This coffee shop is my fave. They have the basic offerings, along with a fun array of seasonal specials. Reg dairy milk options ofc but also oat and macadamia (and soy? I think?) I once mentioned wishing coffee shops had oil free oat milk and the owner brought some in to try it out. They do interesting popups some weekends (I've heard because crowds are not where you'll find me.) The baristas have been there forever (and are super lovely people you dont even mind seeing before you've had coffee!) and are ACTUALLY baristas, like they know how to foam nutmilk and pull excellent espresso. (Their new espresso machine is dope.) They often feature small growers for (usually) 2 espresso options​, tons of teas, pour overs, etc. If there's a line, you went to late and have only yourself to blame; try again tomorrow. ;) read more

Love the drink options here, I absolutely love the vibe, it is so different from any other coffee shop that I've ever been to. Sometimes I can't do caffeine and I love the fact that I would still be able to go here and get some really great and unique drinks. I was confused by the one-star reviews and then when I saw it was all from nasty people who wanted to bring their dogs inside of the coffee shop It really made me appreciate them. I really wanted to like this place because the décor is nice and the drinks (when they actually have them) are decent, but the service was unbelievably rude. From the moment my party walked in, the worker muttered "oh f***," which immediately set a negative tone. They were out of most drinks, and when my friend simply went to look at the records and décor, she was yelled at. The frustrating part is that she was hesitant to even go up at first because she didn't want to break any rules--but since we saw other guests go up and browse without issue and there was nothing to let us know she wasn't able to go look, she thought it was fine. Instead of calmly explaining, the worker snapped at her in front of everyone. The overall attitude we experienced made us feel completely unwelcome and rushed to leave. Even though the space itself looks cool, the hostility from the staff ruined the entire experience. Overall the taste was really nice, the fruitiness mixed with the matcha gave it was really nice flavor! The shop itself was clean and offered a variety of seating options! Drinks were super delicious, we got the ube matcha and espresso, and the sticky mango drink all tasted good but extremely overpriced. The ube drinks were supposed to be $8 + tax, were charged 9.50 and then asked for a tip when they weren't even attending to us right away. Great ambience. The community/atmosphere makes me feel proud to be a Chicagoan as they represent our city well. Wish my iced Ube latte had more Ube flavor, but I pretty much say that about all Ube coffee drinks. Visited here on a Friday afternoon during their pizza pop up! The cafe has a unique design and decor with great music! There was a the pizza pop up the day that I visited so I was able to try that out as well and it was so delicious and fresh! Theie choice of coffee is also very different than a regular cafe. It was just "ok" on my last visit recently. I've been there on better days last year. All I had on this visit was drip coffee and a pastry. On other visits I've had their specialty drinks which were good, albeit expensive. The space feels a little incoherent with a couple of other small niche businesses sharing the space which don't seem directly coffee-related. None of the seating is particularly comfortable--I switched a few times--eventually settling in at the bar, but the area behind the bar was cluttered and messy so it wasn't a pleasant sight to be seated directly in front of. The service was a little inattentive--it took a while to have someone come take my order, and there was no greeting or acknowledgement that we were there. On the plus side, it's a vibey space, and the barista who actually handed us our coffee was pleasant. I was there just an hour before closing, so maybe they are more enthusiastic earlier in the morning. read more

Very disappointing. Barista forgot the milk we asked for in both our drinks. There was really overpowering incense burning (in a place that serves food?). None of the food was labeled- what looked like a pumpkin muffin was actually extremely spicy(???) - even a heads up would have been nice. Coffee was mid as well. I get loud music in coffee shops, but this was almost nightclub level volume as well. I think they just need to go back to the drawing board. read more

Visiting this place was the worst experience I've had anywhere in the west loop. Upon entering the store i was approached by a staff member and I was asked to chain my service animal outside. I notified the staff member I was accompanied by my service animal to which I was then asked to present my paperwork. That is a major violation of HIPAA, I told this to the staff member and I was very rudely told I was wrong and if I didn't present my paperwork my service animal was not allowed inside. Its very indicative of the staff, management and ownership that they are all incorrect of their understanding of the law and on top of that they are confidently rude to a paying customer. While waiting for my order I was approached by a second staff member who told me my order would be packaged to go as they typically dont allow animals inside the store. I will be filing a complaint with ADA of Chicago through the Department of Justice as this business does not satisfy ADA accessibility and is not HIPAA compliant. Its clear based on how rude the staff were that they have a heightened sense of entitlement and are blissfully ignorant inside of their Urban Outfitters themed coffee shop. read more
