We stopped at Drift on a whim when we were in Gloucester because it was a beautiful day and they had open air seating. Drift is a bar like atmosphere. We seating ourselves when we arrived and sat by the open air window with views of the downtown area and the ocean. The service was a little slow because I think there were only two people working the front end of the restaurant. After reviewing the menu and wanting seafood we were told they were in the process of switching over their menu and had no seafood this time of year. We were a little disappointed, but my husband and I each ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and our daughter got the Summer Salad with Chicken. I have to saw we were pleasantly surprised with our meals. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was flavorful. They sandwich's came with tots and an aioli for dipping. The tots were perfectly crispy and the aioli was delicious. Our daughter loved her salad especially the cinnamon pear vinaigrette. We would absolutely return here.

We are not from the neighborhood, but we love to go to drift when Brittany is behind the bar ! She is super friendly kind and have a lot of hospitality! In a town that you get a lot of severs with her you make a friend ! Thank you !!!!

Poor service, poor food, poor drinks. A complete waste aside from the decor and location.

Upon entrance is a doorman who is so friendly and accommodating! He found us an open table and checked on us throughout the night. The place was packed and they only had maybe 5 or 6 employees so the service was a little slow but understandable. I think the longest wait was about 20 minutes when we were waiting to get our initial drink order taken, but everything after that was fairly quick. For drinks I got a thin mint martini because they were out of the chocolate reuge martini I wanted. It was so yummy and came with 3 thin mint cookies. My mom got a pistachio martini and the Jefferson Tea. Both were pretty good but I wouldn't order again. My dad got Dead Mans Redemption which is good if you like bourbon. It comes with a wood topper and they light it on fire, let smoke fill in the drink, and then take the wood off. The drink then has notes of smoked wood in it which is cool. For food we got the crispy spring rolls and pepperoni flatbread. Both were so good!!!! It was absolutely worth the wait!!! I could eat the whole flatbread myself it was that good and I can't wait to go back and get another one. The crowd is definitely much older, not a lot of younger people around. It's a good date night for married couples. Overall it was a nice place and I would come back.

We ordered drinks before the meal. I had a Vermont Red Ale for the first time which was very good and worth remembering. At this time they were serving'cocktails for a cause' in support of the Alzheimer's Association, which my other half decided to have. The drink, Fuchsia Butterflies ($15), was made solarium gin, house-made lemoncello, with a Gran Classico & Violet Rinse. It was quite excellent. I had a sip to try (I am usually not one for cocktails) and enjoyed the taste. Perhaps I will try cocktails in the future. For food we shared curry moules frites, well done, just how I like them, and salt and vinegar Wings - tasty but too salty which detracted from the dish. We ended with a good chocolate mint creme brûlée. The check came to $80 to which we added a decent tip for our friendly server, Triston. We have always enjoyed the vibe and cozy environment of this place and are sure to return.
