Might have been good in the past but horrible now. Check the recent reviews! Went here on a Groupon and wanted to get my lashes done. I was their first appointment that morning and no one else showed up the whole time I was there. Did not get to choose lashes and did my lashes super quick- less than hour for both sides. Super sparse, barely noticeable, and the lashes we're placed on in all directions. I have some lashes pointing up (as they should be), some pointing down, some pointing left, and some seriously straight pointing up touching the eye lid. Even after calling to complain right after they told me it's my fault I have so little natural lashes and can not add more (which seems to be the same lie other girls have been told to cheat unsuspecting girls out of getting their full lashes as promoted). Had high hopes for this place seeing how it got good reviews but left disappointed. I went here with a Groupon and went back for a touch-up. A few things to note: the space is SMALL and very bare bones. Like literally a room with 2 tables and the staff. It's cash only if you need to pay for anything additional and just something to note if you're Asian, the workers speak both Chinese and Korean (and of course, English lol) because they will ask you. Anyway, I found that the workers do solid work. The very first time I got eyelash extensions was at a place in the city and I thought they were great until an extension fell off an hour later (uhhh what?). So, after visiting Barbi, I was surprised at how much better the work they did was in comparison. I was so happy with how they came out and with how long they lasted. The process is long and if you don't end up passing out, you can start to get a bit jumpy, but they do play some calming music while they work on you, so it helps a little (kind of). Location is super convenient. On Roosevelt right next to a bunch of stores and Macy's and there's a sign directing you to the second floor. My experience at Barbi's eyelash extension was great! I'll be very honest here -- First of all, I have been contemplating on the extensions for over 3 months. I searched, I looked, I read reviews, I heard from people's experiences. I finally did it! Found a Group-on for this place and gave it a try. At first I was a bit skeptical of the location, customer service lady didn't explain much to me. I went in and it's a quiet place with 3 beds - First time ever but the nice lady at the desk didn't explain much as far as length, what I have to do, what I shouldn't do etc. HOWEVER, she spoke to one of her employees "Grace" to take care of me and my needs. I mentioned I want extensions that are very curled but natural. Length 12 is great for a natural type of look. Very quiet gentle process while they apply the extensions on.. its 2 hours. I think I might've fell asleep for a little. Grace explained to me afterwards: No mascara, No water (don't wet them), No cream and No oils for 5 hours. I did just that -- actually I did that for a whole day. And 4 days later.. still have all of them on as if it was just a few hours ago she put them on :) I will be back in 2 weeks. (If you drive -- the ONLY downfall is PARKING. There's a parking lot nearby. However, everyone apparently parks there so you go around and around within the parking lot to find a spot. I am not happy with my lashes at all. I had got a Groupon as a gift for Christmas. I was so hyped to go because I've heard nothing but good things about Barbi, unfortunately that was not the case for me. First of I was supposed to receive MINK lashes and instead I was given SILK, the Groupon clearly states Mink. Next it has been less then a week, my appointment was on Monday, January 8th at 5:30pm with Reana and the outside corner and instead corner of my eyelash extensions are gone, only the middle is left. I am very disappointed and still can't believe this. Don't put up a Groupon if your not going to do people right and then say the prices for a fill-in for Mink lashes but give them Silk. Uh.. not sure how to feel about this place. I came here because I needed a last minute session and I couldn't get an appointment at my usual spot so I bought the Groupon deal for this place. When I called to make the appointment, the woman insisted that it would be the same price in person (..it wasn't, they tried to up-charge me) and to not pay by Groupon. I paid by Groupon anyway because I knew they were being sketchy. I will say that they were really accommodating, I was about 15 minutes late because parking in the area is absolutely horrible. However, I'm not sure if the photos that they watermark on here are of their work... (?) I get my lashes done often, same style every time -- mink C curl, 13-14, and I go for a more glamorous look (longer lashes in the center, shorter towards the end) instead of cat eye (shorter lashes in the center, longer lashes towards the end). I explained this to them and they had no idea what I was talking about, cool. They gave me a cat eye anyway, and the lashes are very sparse and not full at all. It almost looks as if I bought the individual lashes from the drugstore and applied them myself, they just didn't do a good job. It's very thin and doesn't look like a full set. She also took 2 hours and 15 minutes to do it, which is long for a job that wasn't that well done. I would honestly suggest going somewhere else if you can. read more

I found this place through groupon and decided ill give this place a try since the reviews were really good. I had eyelash extensions before so I know what to expect. I went with two other friends. Upon entering there were two technicians and another technician soon came later. She brought a friend with her that spoke korean with her the whole time she was doing my eyelashes. It got really annoying but I figure i didnt care as long as the eyelashes turned out good. Boyy was I disappointed. The technicians barely spoke english which wasnt a problem because I was able to translate for my friend who didnt speak chinese. The technicians just wants to get to work and sort of dismiss our the questions we have regarding what curl and length to get. After a while we decided on the c curl and a more natural look. After about 45 minute of torture of my technician speaking korean loud and constantly while she was doing my lashes with the friend that she brought with her I was excited to see my lashes. I looked at my lashes and was immediately disappointed. They were no where near full. So sparsed and barely any lashes on the inner and outer corner of the eyes. I addressed it to her about the sparseness and she continue to say that it is because i have very sparse lashes to begin with. Like what i said i had lash extension done before so I know what to expect. I looked at my friends lashes that were done by the other technicians and they look slightly better but no where near full. Leaving the place so unsatisfied we still tipped the 20 percent that was expected of us and the tax of the original price of the service, not the groupon price. My friend weeks later went to get her lashes remove and redone at JJ lashes and she told me how much better and full her lashes looked. I might try them out next. Had a great experience at Barbi. They honored my Groupon price first time I went which was nice. I got the lashes done for a wedding and it came out very nice. The 2 biggest problems is location and price. For one, it took forever to find parking to make my appointment. I drove in circles and down neighborhoods and finally found something after an hour that I just wouldn't do it again. And secondly the price is just too expensive for the headache of getting to the place. I think it was close to $100 for a mink refill. Maybe that's not terrible but I found a great spot closer to me at a cheaper price so I won't be returning. But if you're in the area, it's def a great clean and comfortable spot. read more

I got a Groupon as a gift for getting the mink eyelash extensions. Luckily, I made it to the last appointment for the night and had Sarah do my eyelash extensions. She was very helpful with helping me choose what length to go with. It took an hour or so but she did a wonderful job with my eyelashes. I tipped her less than what I could because I had forgotten that you had to pay a fee of $5 for using groupon and they unfortunately do not take credit card. Since Sarah did a great job, I came in the next day to tip her more but unfortunately she wasn't working that day so instead, I left a note with her tips in it. Hopefully she gets it the next day. Hello! I came here with a Groupon and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. I got eyelash extensions for the first time yesterday by Chloe. She did an amazing job! I was pretty nervous to get them done because I've heard so many botched stories but I'm so happy I came here for my first set of extensions. The whole process was relI'll never go anywhere else. I have very shaky and twitchy eyes when I try to keep them closed but she still managed to put the eyelashes on perfectly which really surprised me! I got 70 mink lashes. They'll offer you more for a little extra money, $15 or $20 I believe. If you want a more dramatic look I recommend purchasing it. If this is your first time getting extensions I recommend coming here 100%. ZERO eyelashes have fallen out 24 hours later. Keep in mind I toss and turn a lot when I sleep. I woke pleasantly surprised to see they were still intact. I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I'll be swimming and hiking and doing a lot of activities. I will update my review to see if they hold up which I'm sure they will! Thank you sooo much Chloe and to the nice ladies at this location. Also this is a very tedious job to do so make sure you tip well! 15% of the original price!! P.S if you're gonna wear mascara make sure to use an oil free mascara and an oil free cleanser when removing it to make your lashes last as long as possible :) Said that'd update after my vacation! Going into it, I did lots of research both on Groupon and Yelp, and after reading both many horror and fairytale stories about eyelash extension places, I took a leap of faith and came here. It seems as if God was really on my side, because I had the best experience ever. The ladies here really know what they're doing, they may come off a little pushy at first, but everyone has their own personalities and it's understandable there's flaws in communication at times. But no doubt my lashes came out beautiful, glam and at the same time very natural looking! I'm writing this nearly 2 months after getting them done, and it's because I was very impressed on how long lasting the extensions remained intact. Of course I was also very careful in maintaining them, but I went 4 strong weeks with them still looking as full as the first time they were put on. It was my first time coming here and will be my last. Here is why: 1. For first time customer, I was told price was around maybe $85/75 something like that, but then tells me my lashes right now have mink on them, so if I wanted mink it's 100. I said ok, fine. Then as the girl is removing my previous lashes, she adds that its $20 charge for removal? Ok? where is the first time customer discount? Most lash places usually offer a small discount so you can try their business out - I ended up paying $120, as a first time customer. I can imagine how much ill pay if I wasn't their first time customer. And $120 was the MOST i have paid at other lashes places. Of course not including tip. 2. The girl was setting up her tools before we started and drops the tweezer and uses a paper towel and hand sanitizer to wipe! What? Also if I didn't to call her out she wouldnt have even done anything to it! 3. What really bothered me: During the session, she pinched not just my left but also right side of my eye lid really hard ( no joke). I almost wanted to curse her out but i kept my cool. All I said was HOLY (shxt).. I regret tipping her from what I experienced, but I guess for that moment I was one of those passive customers who dont like to complain. I shouldve. However, at Barbi eyelash extension, the glue has 100% not stung my eye or made me tear, which is a totally A+++ in my book. My eyes are usually very sensitive. But not with Barbi eyelash. I've been getting silk lash extensions for a year and a half straight now. I decided to try Barbi out since the groupon deal was too good to resist. I explained exactly what I wanted, showed pics and the length desired. I'm so disappointed in my lashes! First off, they didn't use the 80 lashes per eye that I paid for. They didn't even use 30 each. I even paid extra in person for the mink- and they looked exactly like the silk so that was a rip off. I had my first extension on almost a week ago, i feel itchy the second thought it will go away but i am getting very itchy from it up till today. I notice swelling and couldn't stop rubbing cause it is so itchy, my left eye is red and i feel something scratching the inside of my eye. I cant see when they applied the extension because we have to keep our eyes close. Now i have to find a way to remove it. Almost when the eyelash falls off your own lashes fall with it. I had my lashes done for the very first time, but was a bit disappointed that they weren't as curly and full as I wanted. Within the 3rd day the lashes were a bit uneven and so I went back to let them know that I wasn't fully satisfied with them. They immediately agreed to fix them for me without any hesitation. Regarding the lash curls, it was mentioned that it would have to be done in the future when I got a new set, since I already had the 11mm, C curls on. During the touch up, she gave me fuller lashes, which I am very satisfied with! In terms of curls, she definitely recommended that I stay with my current lashes cause the curlier they are the more likely they'll tangle. Good advice! It's been about 3 weeks since I first and last went to barbi and this is about the overall experience. I bought a groupon for the mink set- well they honored the groupon and I made an appointment to go in on Saturday at 1 pm. I got a full new set and it's been a few years since I've done my lashes but needed it to get through the summer. The facility itself was....a joke. It's a small office space wth 3 beds and 3 techs. Just imagine walking into a room about 15x10 (that's being generous) and it's Just crowded. I asked to use the bathroom and they hand you a roll of toilet paper and I wanted to throw up. The facilities are not sanitary there. Now the lashes- I felt like they were sparse and a lot of glue was used but it was what it was. I have big eyes and expected more from this experience but it was a groupon price so you can't complain. My other gripe is that the refills are too expensive for that small of a space & its tough to get an appointment. My friend tried this spot and suggested it to me. After seeing the deal ($26.88 for full set of natural premium silk) on Groupon, I decided to give it a try. Arrived on time for appointment and waited roughly 20-25 min. Reception commented my lash is very thin and sparse for the silk lashes and maybe I could return the Groupon and try something else. At this spot, silk is the thickest and roughest lash. However, my friend also has Asian lashes and it looked fine on her. Reception recommended other types of lashes for additional charge (cashmere for $50 or something like that). It felt like she didn't want to honor my Groupon because price paid was so cheap. When I go to my usual lash spots I usually upgrade ($10) for the silk(which is typically softer). I settled with mint (softer) for 10$ additional, and $5 for tax on the $10 charge. Don't get me wrong, the technician that took care of me (Nuna?) was great. She was very skilled, gentle and respectful. Lashes came out looking good. The whole sales pitch just didn't sit well with me. After lashes were done, she tried to sell me lash serums to rescue my sparse lashes (2 for $100). I saw a bunch of Groupons but this place had the best Yelp reviews so I decided to take the long ride from BK to Queens. I was very apprehensive to get lashes after seeing and reading horror stories about infections, bacteria, irritation etc. You have the choice between Mink & Silk. I decided to go with the silk $40 with Groupon $80 Regular Price. This place is a small room in a commercial space shared with other companies. There are only 2 beds and they make appointments on the top of every hour. Dana was very sweet and suggested I get the j curl 13mm. I knew that I wanted something super lush and had never done this before so I trusted her decision. I was very nervous and twitching at first because your bottom eye is taped down. I noticed very quickly that Dana was gentle and made things painless. So painless in fact that I somehow fell asleep! After everything was over (about 1 hr) my lashes looked great!! Long and full, I cant wait to go swimming and do excursions without the worry of mascara. My lash line looks flawless as you would never ever know that I had any enhancement done. I'm not sure how long they will last yet that is still to be determined but I'm hoping at least 2-3 weeks.
