I will not get my lashes done anywhere else. I've gone to several places over the years in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island and no place compared to them. I moved to Long Island and take the 1hr drive once a month. They last 3-4 weeks, all staff is extremely professional, the establishment is immaculate and they are reasonably priced. I go to Ava, but all the technicians are great. My eyes are very sensitive and I never have any issues. They're also very fast. It never takes longer than an hour. This will probably be my last time getting my lashes done here. And here are the reasons why: 1. The third time I had my lashes done and Linda is the woman who did them. Unfortunately, like in my previous review, she did accidental pokes on my eye AND put pressure on my head AND on my newly done lashes, which is why in the picture below showed her progress of my lashes after a week later. More than half of my lashes were falling off. And I believe she didn't even dry them long enough. I talked to the manager about the situation and they gave a discount which is fine and allowed me to come in another time for a cheaper price. Thankfully, it stayed long enough and I had them done with Irene. Irene was probably the only person who does so well on my lashes so props to her. However, after that appointment, my experience with this location began to drift. Which leads me to reason number two. 2. I booked my lash appointment with Meena. I usually set up my appointments through their website and when I got to the place, Meena told me it would be $80 however I wanted a $50 for 2 weeks. I was genuinely confused about the booking process so I asked her why and was charging me extra. She laughs at my for being ridiculous and said that it is that way because I passed the time after 2 weeks which was definitely so odd since the fucked up my lashes and gave me another set of lashes for three weeks with a discount. My honest opinion, if it was that way then why allow the customer to even pick the option on the website if they were going to give me the original price at the place? It's just very misleading. Another thing, Meena could've been more reasonable and look at the customer's perspective more rather than LAUGHING at them. It's just awfully rude and disrespectful. Anyway, after the appointment, AGAIN, didn't dry my lashes long enough. Hopefully nothing goes wrong but I'm just letting everyone know from my experience that this place is just awful. Lash tech: Mary I'm so disappointed because I literally had the worst eyelash extension of my life here lol :/ I've never had such a painful experience before. Sure, there have been the accidental pokes before elsewhere, but today it felt like my tech just kept poking my lid with the extension and/or pulling my own lash? Felt like I was getting some lashes pulled out too. At one point of the session it was so bad that I said "it hurts" out loud. She didn't even reply to me. LOL?? I was so relieved when she turned the fan on, signaling that she was done. I hoped that at least I would like how it looked.... However, I saw that she had put multiple lashes together on each of my lashes, which I do not like. We had discussed what I wanted beforehand and the word "natural" was definitely emphasized at least 3-5 times lol. I knew I fucked up when my lash lady started using scissors to even out my lashes. Irene was really nice but did not do what I asked for. I showed her two reference pictures from yelp and when I looked in the mirror it looked nothing like it. She told me it was eye shape.. Now it's been a couple days and I look at my lashes, they're completely uneven, different sizes lashes that are really really noticeable. Irene also did not put lashes on my full lash line. Towards the end and the beginning you can clearly see my eyelashes poking out. Irene put the extensions underneath my real lashes rather than inbetween the lashes so when I close my eyes, you can see all of my lashes separating from my extensions. It's really embarrassing. I went here to get my lashes done before my trip to Cancún pre-COVID with high expectations because of the pictures I saw on their yelp. It was my first time getting my lashes done professionally and the lady who did my lashes did not even offer to suggest what she thought would look best with my eye shape. When I decided on volume lashes + cat eye style, she gave me attitude. She also incorrectly taped my lower lash line down too low. My eyes got so irritated & dry. They ended up turning out nice but I was annoyed by the lack of care and customer service. They did a good job with the lash extensions, but none of it matters if you're walking out with an eye infection. I arrived at the place, which is at a third floor walk up shared with other businesses. The room itself was nice, but the business across the hall was very noisy and there was lots of yelling coming from there. It made the experience the opposite of calm. If you're going to have your eyes shut for the next 1-2 hrs, you don't want to feel panicked the whole time. To make things worse, my tech was speaking very loudly with the tech next to her. Is it really necessary to have a loud conversation while you're hovering so close over my face, especially since you're selling a calm environment to get something as intricate as lash extensions done. My tech was sick. She was coughing the whole time. I don't know if she put on a mask after I shut my eyes, but when I opened my eyes at the end, she wasn't wearing one. When she put the adhesive paper down on my left eye, I felt it go into my eye. My left eye was hurting and turning red after I opened it and the tech told me "that's normal", then handed me a fan to air my eye. A day later, my left eye is bloodshot red, swollen, and hurting. Just came back from the doctor's office and I have my first eye infection in my 33 years of life. Thanks. My eyes were fine before I went to this place FYI. I wanted this to be my eyelash spot but very disappointed from my last experience. I requested the same technician but apparently they had two technicians with the same name spelled different and I spelled the wrong one. But when I got there, there was no communication with anything. They didn't even explain to me why I didn't get the same technician until after I complained. It really depends who does your lashes. My first time was amazing and I loved them. My second and last time here, my technician got glue in my hair.. the lashes were much shorter even though I told her to go 1 length down. They honestly looked like natural lashes with no curl. I was so disappointed because I paid 120$ however when I messaged them they seemed annoyed and frustrated and my concerns and disappointment. I requested a refund and after going back and forth they only refunded me 20$. It was sad how they spoke to me she even told me I was getting "intense". These lashes started falling off the next day and also I noticed a chunk of glue on one eye so I have a gap within the first week. I didn't bother calling them back because they clearly didn't care. okay so I usually never write bad reviews on businesses no matter how bad my experience is but this one just needed to be out... i got my lashes done a little over a week ago by the lady that's stationed at the last bed, closest to the wall/window. This was my first time in this establishment. I asked for 3D volume wispy lashes. As a lash tech in training, 3D= 3 lashes per fan. first of all the fans placed on my lashes consisted of ATLEAST 8-10 individual lashes, not to mention they weren't fanned out like a wispy set should be & there was no isolation. They're falling out so quickly and multiple natural lashes are stuck to it. I've been getting my lashes done for about a year and a half now, i chose to go here last minute because my original lash tech did not have availability and I've heard good reviews from this place. The service was okay, when you walk in a lady asks for your name and I immediately got attended to. it took a total of 40 minutes so it was clearly rushed. Update: When I told them about the eye infection they basically blamed it on the glue and said that the technicians use hand sanitizer and they don't touch our eye. This place is amazing. I've been to three other eyelash extension locations in Flushing, and none compare to here! The lashes they use here are top notch. The best part is they last up to 3 weeks (for me personally).I initially came here prior to going on vacation 2 months ago, and have been revisiting for refills ever since! They do an incredible job in catering to your preferences. My lashes always look so flawless and natural that people sometimes ask me what mascara I use. Hah. Ive had 3 different ladies fill my lashes but all are wonderful and highly skilled. SOMETIMES it's a hit or miss but My go to is Lauren or Mary. The ONLY negative thing I have to say (and the reason I took one star off) is that there's ALWAYS a wait when I arrive here at my appointment time. They have a LOT of customers so it's understandable however it pushes over 10-15 minutes sometimes. Plus, I've had 2 instances as of late where I've woken up with red puffy eyes the day after. So I'm wondering now if this is related to improper sanitization, or if it's just my eyes that are sensitive? This never happened before in the history of me coming here (7-8 months) so perhaps it is due to an influx of customers / more exposure? Who knows. Also, the location is kind of shady. The business that's next door they provide "special massages" and I frequently see older men coming in and out while waiting. YUCK. I deleted my initial review about not being fully satisfied with the end results of my visit due to not only the language barrier which lead to a miscommunication which resulted in a lash style I didn't desire but also for not feeling completely comfortable with the lash tech I was given. Immediately after addressing my dissatisfaction, the owner contacted me to apologize and offer to fix the issue free of charge. SPACE: The place itself is small, with only 4-5 beds separated by curtains, but they try to create an atmosphere of relaxation for the room regardless. The place is clean, and they also provide blankets in case you get cold laying on the salon bed. PRICES: This salon has the best competitive prices, beating out other places almost every time! I really really want to give this place 5 stars, but I can't. I've been here twice now and my second visit here was much better than my first. I've gotten lash extensions only once before but they weren't individual lashes...they ended up ripping all of my natural lashes out so I swore off of lash extensions for years and finally decided to give them another go this past month. My girlfriend gets her lashes done here and they look great on her so I decided to book an appointment here as well. The salon is located on the third floor of a dingy building but the inside of the salon looks clean enough. I was greeted by the only available lash technician at the time. I never got her name but she has bangs and works at the last station closest to the window. I'm fairly new to volume lashes so I asked her what she would recommend for my eyes because it was my first time there. As soon as I mentioned that I was a new customer she gave me the weirdest look and proceeded to tell me that I've been there before when I haven't. She then asked me to confirm my name and phone number and starts to type my information to someone else through wechat?!?! I didn't say anything because I assumed that there must be a mistake. She kept insisting that I was an existing client and that I was just there this past April...but I wasn't. That really rubbed me the way and was kinda sketchy. The discount isn't much, only $20 so I conceded and just went through with the appointment anyway but I definitely felt cheated. The girl that did my lashes did a solid job and my lashes still look pretty good after two weeks. When I went in for my refill earlier this week, Lina did my lashes and I'm so happy that she did. They look crazy full and super fluttery. I want to give Lina five stars because she's so accommodating and so good at what she does, but I'm also annoyed that they didn't believe me when I told them that I was a new client during my first visit. Never again!!!! I paid for a full 3D set. They looked okay, not natural but it was fine. However, it lasted a week!!!!! I paid so much money for what? I took care of them, avoided too much water touching them, brushed them the way I was supposed to and it lasted a week. I called and set an appointment for my two week fill in seriously pissed but thinking if I try another lady it might work. Of course, they said I should've taken care of them better but I did everything I was supposed to do! What can I say about this place?! I am absolutely in love with the work that Meana does. She is always willing to squeeze you in her calendar and most of all she is so welcoming at all times. She lets you know which lashes are good for you and also advices you on how to take care of them. Her prices are extremely REASONABLE for the amount of work she puts in. She is very gentle and the room always feels cozy, that's a plus! What I love the most is that if I don't have cash on me, I can always QUICK PAY HER! I've only been to one other eyelash salon in Great Neck but ever since that shut down I've been on the hunt for a new place. I read many reviews and decided to stick with Ele. I'm a little spoiled by Long Island's free parking lots so having to park in a garage and pay was a bit annoying. Took me a while to find the place. The spot isn't as luxurious as what I'm used to but I'm still giving this review a 5 star because of how satisfied I am with my lashes. I've been coming here since March 2018 and they always come out looking great. At first I did the cateye look but unfortunately for me, the outer ends of the lashes hang down so I was recommended to do the natural shape. For me it was a trial-an-error with this location. But after Lin did my lashes , I couldn't be happier! Two weeks later, I booked my appt w Lin (with the help of the receptionist to figure out her name) to get a retouch and two weeks after that , my eyelashes still looked great ! I usually do the 3D Volume set but the last time for the holidays I tried the 3D Super Volume set and after like two weeks my eyelashes STILL looked great !! I trust Lin with my lashes. To anyone reading this.... RUN BITCH RUN!!!!!! I just had my eyelash extensions done and I'm so unhappy with them. I repeatedly told my stylist that this was my first time so I was expecting to be told the different types of styles, length, aftercare, and etc. I had to pull information out of this woman who couldn't give a damn about her customer as long as she got paid. She only asked about my preference for the type of individual lash and the length. She never mentioned how it was going to be styled or the outcome of the volume until afterwards. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE COME ACROSS! Your job is to fully inform me of the procedure and what the expected outcome is supposed to be before the procedure. I was expecting full voluminous lashes for the price ($80 + tip = robbed). I came out with sparse eyelashes that look like $20 job from a blind woman. My friends even commented that they look strange. I politely asked her to make it more voluminous to which she replied that my natural lashes would not have been able to support anymore volume.
