Mieko san has the patience of a saint!…read more I've always disliked my eyelashes. They're flat, and don't curl. I've tried masacra to either have it come off or my lashes look exactly the same. I'd been wanting to try eyelash extentions for a long time, but I had no idea what it entailed or what it cost. When I called to make an appointment, the call went to voice mail. Meiko san called me back later in the day and told me she had an appoinment available for about two weeks later -- there's a reason why there's a waiting list for her! The day of the appointment, Meiko san sent me a text confirming the appointment. I slept in late, so I was late replying to her and I apologized. She was incredibly nice and said it was ok. I arrived at 1:30pm. Meiko san is this sweet, kind, petite person. She had me fill out a form with questions (similar to a flu shot form) to determine if I was a good candidate. My answers met her expectations, and she assignmed me a C length and 65pp for me, seeing as it was my first time. She explains everything and breaks down the pricing/process, so nothing is a surprise. She has you lie down so she can begin the process. The process is SURREAL. I assumed I would just shut my eyes. Nope -- and this is the process for eyelash extentions anywhere. Your botton eyelids are taped down and one cannot move/talk during the process. I suffer from anxiety and the process started making me antsy. Mieko san said that is normal for a first timer. I was beyond antsy and I kept squirming. Mieko san was incredibly nice and understanding and was chatting with me about her family and the business even though techincally I wasn't supposed to be talking. I know she did it to keep me relaxed and it helped. When she finished, my eyes had a surreal sensation to them but she said it is totally normal. I can't imagine going to another salon and having the tech get mad/ be impatient/annoyed. I'm sorry for being so difficult! She does INCREDIBLE work. My eyelashes look like something out of Hollywood. By the end of the session, Mieko san and I were talking about tv shows and cooking. She really helped ease my nerves. She was also so helpful with my questions/neurosis -- I was texting her throughout the day with my "newbie to eyelash extention" questions and she replied quickly and was just such a sweetheart. Any first timers to eyelash extentions, go to Mieko san -- you won't regret it!

Within 24 hours, there was visible regrowth that clearly had not been removed from the root, which contradicts what I was told about the shaping process. I was informed the brows were primarily tweezed, but the amount of regrowth suggests otherwise, and it appears a razor was used more than communicated. In addition, the tint came out uneven, with a noticeable color mismatch between both brows. The overall result looked unbalanced and not what I would expect from a professional service, especially for the price point. I also had a special event the following day and felt very uncomfortable with how my brows looked, which made the experience even more frustrating. To their credit, the business did respond and offered a complimentary fix, and later a 50% partial refund when I explained I couldn't return due to my schedule and caring for an infant. While I appreciate the response, I do not feel the outcome reflects the quality that is advertised. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations, and I would not return based on the results I received.

I moved to Long Island and take the 1hr drive once a month. They last 3-4 weeks, all staff is extremely professional, the establishment is immaculate and they are reasonably priced. I go to Ava, but all the technicians are great. My eyes are very sensitive and I never have any issues. They're also very fast. It never takes longer than an hour. Lastly, in all my years going they have always run on time.
