Very rude hostess, drink never refilled by waiter, and food not even decent. If you like hash browns soggy and undercooked, then go ahead and order that. I ate here about five years ago and do not live in the area. I have thought about how great my meal was back then and today as I'm traveling through my husband and I decided to try it again. It did not disappoint! Service was right on, the food plentiful came to the table hot. I normally don't eat pancakes, but this is the place you've definitely want a pancake! I stopped here for breakfast on a trip to Grand Junction and really enjoyed my experience! The interior cute and the vibe reminds me of the Snooze chain in Denver. The servers were lovely and friendly. There is a variety of morning cocktails, including mimosas, bloody marys and spiked coffee. I tried the strawberry mimosa which was really delicious and a sizable drink. My partner got the cinnamon roll french toast (not pictured) and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend getting this. We also were kind enough to have gotten a cinnamon roll on the house, so we were able to compare the two. Both were respectively food but I say the French toast is the way to go! I ordered the white water breakfast wrap, which was good, but I thought it could've used more seasoning or a dipper on the side- like salsa. There was ample seating inside and outdoor seating out front. Dream cafe offers vegetarian, vegan, non-dairy, and gluten free accommodations. this is a good spot to come with a friend or a bigger group. As a long-time restaurant owner, I was excited to try the Dream. The place was busy and a bit noisy. The cinnamon roll was good. My husband's Mavric Bennie was good. My salmon Bennie should have been good, but there was disgusting skin left on half of the salmon. There was also an upcharge on the already high prices, .75 per egg, so $1.50 per meal. The Dream had this printed on the menu, not an added sticker. This makes no sense. Put the real price on the menu. When I asked the hostess, she rudely responded, "Read the menu." Dream used to be our go-to breakfast and lunch place for many years. Ambiance was comfortable but modest diner type; prices were reasonable for what you get; food was fresh and good with service to match. A few years ago the restaurant was sold and it has gone steadily downhill ever since. The quality of the food has seriously dropped and the general "vibe" in the restaurant has gotten poor. We passed by on a Sunday during what appeared to be their rush hour (10-11am) there where lots of folks waiting but the wait was totally reasonable at like 20 minutes or so. We waited over an hour (were told it would be 30). When tables did clear there was no hustle to get them prepped for the next guest. It was one of the best french toasts I've ever had. Make sure to ask for the caramel and icing along with the syrup. They come with the cinnamon roll, but for some reason the french toast comes with less sauce options. The interior is a charming, modern diner vibe and there are a few tables al fresco. My daughter ordered a specialty drink and we shared the salmon Benedict with two additional eggs. My brother-in-law picked a breakfast burrito and my sister wanted the biscuits and gravy. Our Benedict looked great but they brought two burritos and weren't very nice when my sister repeated her order. It would have been a better experience for the entire table for her to have some of the burrito while she waited but they took it away, missing an opportunity. From service and venue to coffee and quality of food, I definitely stumbled upon a gem in Grand Junction. Well actually, a friend who used to live here told me about it. I was immediately seated on the shaded outdoor patio--prime for people watching. What stood out most to me on the menu was the Jalapeño Steak Bene. I mean, how often do you see something like that? Grilled steak with jalapenos, chipotle cream cheese, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and pico de gallo. YUM!! My mouth is watering just reading over that again. That along with a side of hash browns is exactly what I needed that morning. Customer service is fantastic, always delivering smiles and hot cups of coffee.
