    Giant cinnamon buns

Great selection, pretty much every meat type and combination of eggs you can imagine. Giant cinnamon rolls. Neighborly service. Home made corned beef hash. Bun type coffee you'd expect in a neighborhood diner. Good choice for a filling diner breakfast. Years later and still great! Country Benedict with grits photo posted

The best Corned Beef Hash and Eggs ever, the taste is unique

This's a small breakfast place that will impress you. The service and the food are outstanding. I loved it and if I come back to Grand Junction, I'll stop at Randy's again for sure

    Loved the food and people!!!

It's ok. It's a greasy spoon. Eat eggs, sausage and drink coffee, then go to the restroom.

Read my previous review. The back-bone of this restaurants' customer base were long-time older locals from GJ, who had grown used to the personalities of these ladies, some of them having worked here for 13+ years. The new owner deceived the employees that they would retain their jobs, meanwhile training a whole new staff he could pay at a lesser wage. He then methodically fired (not laid off) all the veteran waitstaff right before Thanksgiving. I hope that this incident is the first thing that pops up whenever someone Googles RAUL & CATHY WOLF. The price was moderate, about $10.99 each. It was an all-you-can-eat buffet, with a good selection of mostly American classics. The food quality was mediocre, and the atmosphere was contemporary hotel lobby. Still, the convenience factor made it a good choice. There was also a free breakfast buffet provided for hotel guests which included various hot and cold breakfast items. Breakfast was probably better than the dinner. Prior to arriving in Grand Junction, I had looked up dinner options and the menu for this place…read morelooked really interesting. So we stopped by on a Monday evening for dinner. This is very much an American version of an Irish pub - basically an American bar with all sorts of green everywhere. The hostess was welcoming until she went to seat us at the table right next to the door when there was tons of open seating. So I asked for a different table and she seemed put off by the request. Our server was Brittney and she took our order. I ordered the Highlander Sliders and hubby ordered the Irish Stew and the Malted Vinegar Chips. I checked to be sure the sliders would be well done. When our food arrived, it all looked fairly good. The sliders were burnt, though. Well done doesn't equate to charring the outsides. They were dried out because of that but the sauce they use helped. They sliders came with fries. They were good. Hubby liked his stew but the chips didn't have any vinegar on them and were overly salted. They were served with French onion dip so that was good. Overall this was somewhat of a let down. I was really looking forward to a good dining experience but they missed the mark.

Service…read moreis minimalist by design, ambiance and decor are nice but dark & dreary during the winter months due to the lighting. I could mention several criticisms of recent managerial decisions, but I'll just limit it to one. The "American Breakfast" has disappeared, replaced by an a la carte ordering model. I assume this reflects price creep and the reality that the market will not support a $20 counter-service breakfast (especially one that prompts for pre-tipping) when a comparable $12 option is available across the street at a full-service restaurant. Combined with long wait times and lukewarm food, caused by either amateurs in the kitchen or lackadaisical food delivery by the counter-staff, Cafe Sol has regretfully moved to my "occasionally OK" list.

The greens added a little kick, the onions perfectly sliced; almost paper thin. The green chiles cut into little morsels add that Smokey bit we crave when we think of fiesta style foods. There were bits of queso fresco crumbled over the whole thing, giving that tang. Even the brown rice was treated with the utmost respect and has the most amazing flavor and hearty texture! Lastly, I'm sure someone back there made that citrus crema from scratch and I basically licked that little ramekin clean! Thank you, thank you! A stop anyone in Junction will not regret!

It's been over 5 years since I've reviewed this restaurant! I was just there last night and it is…read morestill as good as it always was. I was not able to make a reservation because it was completely booked when I checked their website. My husband and I arrived at 6:30PM on a Friday night. There were 2 seats at the bar; lucky us! My husband always has the Tanteo Margatini. Former bartender, Kirk's, concoction. He had three last night. It's that good! He calls it "spicy, sweet, yet refreshing ". Spice from jalapeño, sweetness from mango and agave. I usually have the Blueberry Hibiscus Martini. I also tried Pretty In Pink, which is my new favorite! Pretty in Pink was light, sweet, and pleasant on the pallet. Despite the lightness, still got me buzzing after 1 drink. Blueberry Hibiscus, a martini obviously, is stronger vodka taste, with lots of blueberry and floral notes. Very different drinks. I'll change it up based on my mood, haha! To start, always Parmesan Truffle Fries. French fries are my #2 favorite food. My all time favorite fries live at 626. They weigh the portions out so you will always have the same amount of fries. The crisp and potatoness is the perfect ratio. (If you're a fry girl, you get what I'm saying lol.) Blue cheese escargot: flavorful, buttery, garlicky, bubbling hot, soft and tender escargot with slices of baguette to dip in the yummy butter. Calamari-- I didn't have it last night because I couldn't justify ordering a third appetizer but I remember this dish thoroughly. Lightly crisp calamari rings and tentacles, perfectly cooked and tender. I HATE overly cooked, rubbery chewy calamari. You will NEVER get that here. Yummy ponzu sauce to dip. Tempura Cauliflower-- also didn't have last night but another absolute favorite. I had the fish of the moment, which was trout served with purple cabbage and seasonal asparagus. (Another thing I love about 626 is their menu changing based on what's in season. You get that fresh shit!) Trout was perfectly cooked, duh. Flaky, little seasoning, not too much to overpower a delicious filet of trout. Asparagus was also cooked perfect. I hate a mushy, overcooked asparagus. Also love the touch of orange caviar on top. Mid bite, the bartender asked, "is everything tasting amazing?" Yes, yes, yes. Literally no other restaurant can ask this question. My husband had the black angus tenderloin. They recommend medium rare, so of course we have to do it that way. It was tender and delicious. I cut it with a butter knife! We didn't have time for dessert. We were rushing to The Avalon for a show, just 1 block away. But I will tell you my favorite is the crème brûlée. Always the perfect texture and sweetness. Also the almond cake with Enstrom's ice cream added on. My husband and I were there on a BUSY night. Every chair on the floor had a customer. It was loud, but I was still able to have conversation with my husband sitting next to me. Despite the occupied staff, they're always friendly, attentive, warm and waits are minimal. They made sure we made it to our 8PM show on time. (We were 10 minutes early, hehe)

I also had the steak served with a fresh salad of spinach, pears, pomegranate, and goat cheese -- beautifully plated and full of flavor. The service was outstanding.
