My dog was looking for a bite!

I live within walking distance of Dragon Hero and finally had time to try it. I ordered ahead for pick up and went with The Rachel, which is a turkey reuben. It was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed it, though there was a kick to it I wasn't expecting. Luckily, I like some heat! I'll be back to try some other items on the menu soon.

The person at the counter was very pleasant, informative with different recommendations. We decided to go for the Jerk Chicken Sub with fries. The place has a small counter to dine at on the side, under the mural. The sub was flavorful. Would highly recommend some peppers or spicy mayo to accompany the fries or sub. The fries were well spiced and hearty. Would definitely return to try another recommendation.

The weight was super busy, but we were able to meet a couple on the way in who had a reservation. When we got up to the front, we noticed that the couple ran to the counter at the bar and got seats. When we asked the hostess, how long the wait for a party of two would be she said one hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. I had to catch my flight so we definitely could not wait that long. Right when we were about leave and walk away, the very kind and nice couple (Montez & Alayna) that we met walking up, told us that they had secured bar seats and that we could take their breakfast brunch dining reservation. THIS WAS A BLESSING! I purchased their first round of drinks because they were generous with their reservation. There are great people in this city, thanks! We were seated right away at a dining table, and the place was packed, as usual. Our server was wonderful. I believe her name was Alisha or Aisha, and she took care of us very well. We ordered: Naan Bread Appetizer, Blueberry Pancakes with Mascarpone, side of chicken sausage, Creme Brûlée French Toast, side of scrambled eggs, and side of Hash browns. For beverages we had coffee and apple juice plus water. Our food came out within 10 to 12 minutes and everything was delicious and amazing. We were so stuffed and really enjoyed our time here. At the end of our reservation the restaurant Manager approached us (named Derek or Ryan) with the gentleman from the couple who gave us his reservation. They surprised us each with a decadent dessert! This was in response to us buying their first round of drinks. The customer service of our server was AMAZING, the food was DELICIOUS, and the surprise desserts were FABULOUS! This is definitely our go-to restaurant in DC. Thank you for another AWESOME experience!! it's about to rain. I see it.

Still, had to wait a few minutes but no biggie. Server came by almost immediately but then disappeared for some time, I think she was slammed. After we ordered the food arrived pretty promptly. Food was pretty good, standard comfort food. I also had a spicy bloody mary and enjoyed it even though I dont typically like them. I do contunue to think celery is an affront to humankind though. People watching was pretty good, an important component for brunch. Would I go back? Not sure there are many good places to brunch.

I ordered the chimichurri steak plate and really enjoyed it. Funnily enough, the chimichurri itself was the least enjoyable item. I didn't love the texture of it (much too coarse) but, fortunately, it was packaged in a small container separate instead of on the steak itself. The salad probably had a bit too much dressing but I had the option to order that on the side so that's on me. Nonetheless, the steak, potatoes, salad, corn, avocado were all excellent. I also added chips, a lemon zest cookie, and a blueberry breeze handcrafted drink. The cookie is big and chewy, unlike others I have had. It's definitely not something to eat in one sitting. The drink was a little blah and nothing I would order again. All in all, very good!

A delicious bowl. My partner got the Baja bowl (dressing on the side), which they also enjoyed. We were each surprised how big and how filling the bowls were. We ordered a side of hummus ($7.79). It was a nice portion with pita bread, but the hummus was kind of "meh." Texture was good but not much flavor. A disappointment. The beverage bar has an interesting variety of self-serve drinks, including unsweetened tea, tea with pineapple, a mango drink and a drink with a kale base. I tried several of them and mixed some together. It was $4. Worth a try. The place was not crowded when we were there and it's comfortable. Nice upbeat music playing not-too-loudly in the background.

The sandwich I got on my first visit was really good and exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up going back a few days later and ordered the chicken parm, thinking it would be another sandwich. It actually came as a salad instead. On the in-store menu it looked like it was listed under sandwiches, so I'm not sure if it was user error or just a menu layout issue, but it's something to double check when ordering. That said, the chicken parm itself was still good, I just wasn't expecting it on a salad. Overall, the food quality is there, just make sure you're ordering exactly what you want. Also, they're on InKind, so definitely take advantage of that if you use it. Don't feel forced to order from the kiosk, you do have the option to order from the front.

Cilantro and lemon aioli on a club? I would have never thought of that combination, but it works. Between those flavors and the high quality bacon they use, every bite hit exactly how it needed to. Truly impressive. I ordered through the kiosk, so I can't really comment much on customer service. They just called my name when it was ready, and everything ran smoothly, so no issues there. I am already planning my return because that buffalo caesar wrap is calling my name next. If it tastes anything like that turkey club, I already know I'll be back again.

As we were walking back towards our hotel, we actually were passing here so I chose it for our din din spot. I thought for sure it was going to be packed but luckily it was not. I knew I wanted a burger but was struggling with choosing which one. Hubs knew he wanted the Cheesesteak and knew I wanted fries. I went with the Smokehouse burger. We grabbed a seat and did not wait long for our food to come out. I really enjoyed my burger and scarfed it down! I paid for sauces, which were tiny and super overpriced. Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I think the prices were pretty steep so I might skip on the fries next time. The food could have been warmer as well. Definitely worth a visit and will most likely be back when in DC again.

The food isn't greasy and has a mild spicy kick! I really like the updated menu with Classic Indian Plates and Burritos. The Saag Paneer is delicious with large chunks of paneer. It has a mild spicy kick and the quinoa was perfectx to pair it with. It's really easy to go overboard with the galore of toppings with the DIY bowl option (made that rookie mistake a couple of times!). The menu and classic bowls are a great place to start! The sauces are very flavorful and the Tikka Tomato and Garlic sauce has a spicy kick! The Caul Me Maybe with Tofu and Cauliflower and peanut sauce and Eat Your Veggies bowl with a heap of veggies and Coconut and Ginger sauce are my favorites! The lemon turmeric rice and supergrains are my jam as a base (leafy greens can't absorb the curry and don't pair well) with Peanut or the Coconut and Ginger Sauce. The fresh tender Tofu and Cauliflower and onions are my protein pick, the Sweet Potato meatball Tikki are a bit mushy. My favorite veggies are sauteed spinach, great way to get in my greens (the salads don't pair well with the curries)! The baingan bharta eggplant is quite flavorful (the channa masala isn't bad, but not my top pick). The beets, cucumbers, carrots, and corn salsa topped with crunchy pumpkin seeds are my favorite toppings. The lentil chips and chickpea noodles "sev" are also fun toppings! The service has notably gone down at this location as well as the Crystal City location, but the menu has expanded with more food options. Rasa has delicious, healthy Indian food, and part of my lunch rotation!

The build a bowl concept is not hip anymore. The basics are there to make it work with Indian food, but the execution wasn't. I had an option for a greens or grains bowl but their salad looked weak so I went with quinoa, which is not exactly Indian but is good. I ended up with paneer; their veggie option was potato and cauliflower which is neither good nor high in protein. The paneer was a respectable portion, but the overall bowl was a bit weak, when you consider that you only get to add one vegetable (out of two choices), and a few smaller fixins at the end. I appreciated that they offer a chai with oat milk, which was pretty good. The food just didn't get to what I wanted in terms of variety of options. A fast casual Indian place should have three different dals, various breads and street foods, and a whole lot more than two vegetables.
