This place used to be excellent. Back at the end of January, I ordered from them and later that evening, I got sick as a dog and it lasted for three days. I thought it was just a coincidence, but I just ordered again and the food was terrible. The shrimp tasted off and there were two different sizes. The regular size you'd expect but also tiny little shrimp. the filling of the wonton in the soup Tasted spoiled. It was greasy and just plain nasty. it went down the garbage disposal. Tried Dragon Bowl for the first time last night. Our go-to Chinese restaurant closed now so I found DB on GrubHub. Excellent food, good portion size and very fresh tasting. Had the clams with black bean sauce and it was very authentic Chinese. The Mushu Pork had home made wraps which were moist and pliable, not the usual stiff tortilla type. My family and I went dined in here for Chinese food for the first time since many other Chinese restaurants were closed for dine in. I moved into a new apartment recently so I'm Not sure what there is to eat in this area so I google "food that delivers " in my area. Not knowing what I want to eat. Dragon bowl is the first on the list. After reading the reviews and seeing pictures I decide to give it a try. The guy that answered the phone was very nice took my order says 45 min for delivery food was here in about 30 min delivered by a very nice guy holding a box of Chinese food and a 2 liter which I didn't order confused I say I don't think they got my order right. He says no this is on the house Honestly I think this is the best Chinese food I ever had ! I got orange chicken general toso chicken king pow beef wontons and cream puffs and fried rice every single bite was amazing ! There is so much food for the price I'll have left overs for days ! The food was hot, fresh, plentiful, and delivered on time. The driver seemed friendly enough and made a little small talk at the door. I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner combo, and it somehow managed to be bland. The meat wasn't really seasoned and the lo mein was kind of 'meh'. I could have made a pun there, but I respect you too much, dear readers. My roommate's pepper beef was kind of the same. I liked the egg rolls and we both enjoyed the crab puffs. The sweet and sour sauce for dippng was quite good: heavier oh the sour than the sweet. My roomie bought the food, which probably saved an incident at the door, when the bill was magically $35. According to their website, which is linked to their Yelp page, the dinner combos were about $8 and the crab puffs were $5. We also ordered a 2 litre of Pepsi, the price of which wasn't listed on the site. Had I answered the door and been presented with a $35 tab (the total wasn't given on the phone) I would have refused delivery. Had the price been closer to what I expected ($25 plus tax) I probably would have given a four star review, even if the food was underwhelming. I expect more at around $17 bucks a head. read more

Our first time here and it won't be our last. We ordered the crab puffs, Dragon Bowl Spicy chicken, and Mu Shu pork. The puffs were fresh and standard quality. Still OUTSTANDING & EXCELLENT as usual. We have been here every 2-3 weeks this summer (2019) with all of the food being terrific and an outstanding value. The steamed buns (pork) and other appetizers (eggrolls and pot stickers, et al.) are always a treat. The meals with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, & scallops are consistently well prepared, quickly served, and overall EXCELLENT (Am I using the word EXCELLENT too often? Answer: NO!). The rice, noodle, vegetable dishes are in a similar category. I have historically never been a fan of green beans, but their pork with green beans is really a treat. The service is friendly and enthusiastic without being overbearing. Our routine there lately is to order an extra meal to have as leftovers on a subsequent day. Keep up the good work Dragon Bowl. We discovered this gem during Christmas Day and we have been back 4x since then. This place reminded me of the Chinese restaurants in China Town in NY. My favorites are the Mapo Tofu, Rock Cod Fillet with the sauce on the side, Deep fried Squid w/ Garlic & Pepper, Walnut Shrimp and Lettuce Wraps. Their food is consistently good. The Szechuan flavor to their dishes is authentic. Service is fast too. I highly recommend this place! read more

I had Kung Pao. Also had an order of lettuce wraps. Both entrées were very good. If you're a lover of "that other place's" lettuce wraps, then those found here are very different. 2-16-2019: I use to love the Dragon Bowl and have eaten there for decades. Today I ordered fried shrimp, egg rolls, and calamari and it was horrible looking and tasted frozen. The food was all pale looking, not something that had been freshly fried. In fact, it was all the same color - like a saltine cracker. The shrimp were small and covered in a lot of batter instead of the old way they made it which was a light batter. I called to get a partial refund (they refused) and the young woman said it's the way it's always been made. Not the truth since I live around the corner and have eaten there since 1993. They will not get my business again, partially for the bland food, and partially for the poor customer service. Oh my GOD. This place. Guys. This. Place. We ordered delivery and the price was good, we were told a wait time of 45 minutes. Delivery arrived early, food nice and hot, with a free treat, to boot (Pepsi). The food is amazing and they really know what they're doing with their sauces. Husband got sesame chicken, I got the Thai spicy basil tofu. Both are just incredible. Great fresh vegetables, fragrant spices, perfect crisp on everything. My bf got teriyaki chicken dinner combo and unfortunately didn't like the chicken and didn't even eat anymore of it but he really enjoyed the fried rice and lo mein as did I. The truth of the matter is your experience at Dragon Bowl will depend, entirely, on who happens to be cooking when you show up. I have eaten here well over 30 times, and I have realized that the food quality is literally determined by who cooked it. In my many visits, I have seen a total of three different cooks. Two of them are clearly full time employees, but the third one I have only seen a couple of times. Unfortunately, it would be a struggle to try and describe which one is which - but suffice to say, one of them gets it right EVERY time and my family has enjoyed every meal prepared by this specific chef. On the other hand, the other full-time chef does not appear to have anywhere near the cooking talent of the first one. I have had a few tolerable meals prepared by him, but it is VERY obvious when he is the chef, as the difference in quality is incredibly apparent. I have not yet been able to solve the riddles that are their work schedules, or I would share the secret with you. I have, however, noticed that the "good one" tends to always be there on Saturdays. So, if you'd like to sample their food at it's best, I would suggest dropping in on a Saturday. If you go any other time, just realize that you're rolling the dice with the quality of your food. I have been a customer of Dragon Bowl for YEARS. I started going there when they were on the SW corner before CVS was ever even though of. Last night, I ordered Chicken Lo Mein. It was the worst I've ever had at Dragon Bowl. There was very little chicken and the noodles and broth were indescribably gross. I also ordered the Honey Chicken and it was so-so. The sauce was very thin and watery, nothing like a thick honey consistency like in the past. I'm not sure if other family remembers are running this place but if they don't improve, this place will be short lived. The young waiter was wonderful!!!! read more

Granted it was not overly greasy but by far not the best. I know my family owns 6 restaurants in California. Whoever touted it as outstanding needs to visit other establishments. Some of the food was good, and some of it was not so good. But what stood out most was the service...and NOT in a good way. Our server was eating her dinner at a table when we walked into the completely empty restaurant. We were seated and asked if we wanted anything to drink. I ordered hot tea and was told they were out of it. Odd for a Chinese restaurant to be out of hot tea, but, ok. We ordered an appetizer and before we were done our entrees came out. Which was fine, except our server wouldn't let us keep the app plate on the table and wanted us to take what was left and put it on our dinner plates. Ok. So after we finished our entrees, we still had some food left. The server brought over a few styrofoam boxes. I asked if we could have a few more because we wanted to split the food. Apparently this offended her and she rolled her eyes, huffed and stalked off to get more boxes. When she returned, I was scooping food into one of the boxes. As I sat there with a spoon of food above the plate, she picked the plate up and slid the rest of the food into my box, picked up my dinner plate, put it in a pile and rudely asked if I was done. As I sat there, shocked, still holding a spoon of food above a now empty stack of plates, I said "I guess I don't have a choice!" What was suppose to be a fun annual Chinese dinner with my best friend, left me with stomach cramps, aggravation and a crazy story to tell! read more
