It seems we get the same dish which isn't a bad thing if you like the meal. We ordered the Yui Shan chicken. It comes with a lot of vegetables which I like. It also has a chili pepper by it on the menu meaning it is spicy. In the past, this dish has not really been that spicy. This time it was a bit spicier. I took out two chili peppers. We'll have to remember to say keep it mild spice. It was not unbearable but it did wake up your senses. It was still good. I poured out the chili sauce on the leftovers. Best bang for your buck are the dinner specials for $12.99 which include 2 fried wontons, crispy egg roll, fried rice, lo mein and your choice of chicken, pork or beef dishes like orange chicken, mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork to name a few. As you can see, Dragon Bowl is a small traditional Chinese restaurant. Their menu is extensive, spanning approximately five pages. They have specials for lunch and dinner. The kitchen is lightning fast, and the orders were all accurate. If you order from the regular menu, the portions are huge. If from the specials, they are more than adequate. The wait staff will listen to your requests, then be very clear about what they think you should do. Chicken Orange Flavor was listed as a spicy food. I asked if it was sweet, or if they could make it hot but without any sweetness. It was very clear that if I did not want sweet, I should order something else. I did. Pepper Steak from the Luncheon Special included soup. On the same plate as the main course was a spring roll, fried rice, and a fortune cookie. The Pepper Beef's vegetables were cooked to a tender crisp. The beef was of very good quality. Please ask if you like your food spicy hot. They have chili oil, and it appears they make it themselves. It's good and hot. The happy ending to the meal comes in two parts. Please see the message that was in my fortune cookie. The second part is there was no extra charge for dining with a party of 12. Came here on a Monday date night for the first time. Nice quaint Chinese restaurant located in a very large shopping center. Enough parking for 300+ cars as the parking lot is shared with other businesses. There is no shaded parking so you'll be parking in the hot Phoenix sun during the day. Heard some great songs playing lightly in the background: Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, and other easy listening music. We came hungry so we ordered the following: Mapo tofu with pork. This was delicious, the tofu was very soft so if you like firm tofu than you should tell them to cook it a little longer. Overall flavor was lightly sweet and pork was portioned perfectly. Thai Curry Chicken. This dish was amazing, classic full curry flavor that is mild with a non spicy kick, just full of real authentic curry flavor. Pieces of chicken generously mixed with green bell peppers and onions. Side of fried rice. Freshly made rice full of flavor and not overly salty. Pot of white rice. Hot, fresh, fluffy and added great balance to the rich flavors of the entree dishes. Half roast duck. This was the highlight of the meal. Tender, moist, and cooked evenly throughout. My only feedback is that I would have enjoyed it more if it was more crispier. I'd say it was probably 30% crispy and not fully crispy all over. Served with hoisin dipping sauce. Bbq pork buns. White fluffy cake like buns with a yummy pork filling inside. Came with 4 pieces in one order. Highly recommend this place. Service was prompt and friendly, no mistakes were made with our order. We will come back for sure. Also, the best part is the prices are very reasonable. They do have a very extensive menu with vegetarian options. It's a shame the Owner/Manager is fighting with a long time 10 year customer over if they are right or wrong. The food we received upon delivery hardly had any chicken in it... up to 2 pieces max. I simply called to let them know that this is what transpired. She was more concerned with how right she was, insisting that there was chicken, than listening to me or even offering a resolution of some kind. We live in current times in the US, let's open dialogue and maybe learn from our customers or even better yet, listen to them instead of jabbering on. Well it's hard to find good Chinese food. Sure there's "gourmet" Chinese food here and there but come on, that doesn't make it "good". The location of Dragon Bowl might turn some people off. It is NOT the best neighborhood in town. Don't be fooled, the food makes up for it. The service is super friendly but you came here for the cuisine. Now the prices don't break the bank either (unlike the gourmet places). Not to mention the Inside is quite inviting and comfortable too. But again, food. We came hungry, but with Chinese food there's always leftovers right? Nope. Not this time. Just look at the picture. That's a healthy portion, but not a single piece of chicken or noodle came home with me. I ALMOST finished my rice too. My wife had the same experience. "But why, Dana? Why didn't you have leftovers?" I'm glad you asked. It was, so, damn, good. NOT pictured was the wantons and spring rolls, which had the perfect amount of ginger in the rolls. The War Wonton soup broth had very little seasoning, basically water, and only carrots, pea pods, and cabbage for the vegetables. We also had the steamed bbq pork buns and were disappointed that they had very little meat inside them, 90% bun. I called in a to go order here while moving and getting ready to go back to school. They have a nice lunch menu, which does not at all change the portion of the food you get and it's much cheaper! They just do not have as many options. I called and the guy was frank and to the point. My food was ready within 15 minutes and it's so close. My dad had the chicken teriyaki. This was the first place in AZ I've found that had teriyaki and it was delicious. It tasted just like back home in Seattle. They give you a generous amount of good chicken and two scoops of rice. Every meal also comes with Rangoon's and an egg or spring roll. The spring role was delicious, tasted similar to lumpia. The chicken egg roll wasn't my favorite and lacked flavor. I had the sweet and sour chicken which was delicious. The chicken was breaded and they gave a lot of sauce. The veggies were nice and fresh. I was also able to do half fried rice and half noodles.
