GROUPON helped me find this amazing office. The staff is really friendly but the best part is Dr. Shah. I just picked up my 2 glasses yesterday and gotta say, I love the way I see through them and for the first time in a couple of years, I haven't had headaches with them. The BEST part is that I paid less than half than I used to when going to LensCrafters in the past thanks to the amazing GROUPON deal. Dr. Shah was really thorough in his exam and he actually took the time to listen to my concerns rather than just rushing me through the exam process. Really great optometrist's office--they answered all my questions through Yelp, phone, and text. Dr. Shah answered all of my questions and he explained various eye conditions thoroughly. I was intrigued about how Dr. Shah was able to determine the strength of each of my glasses lens without me telling him, and he let me look into a microscope-like device. He explained that the device shoots a laser through the glass and can determine the strength of the lens. That was pretty neat. The entire vision testing process itself took maybe 15 minutes. 20 minutes, tops. I came in early so there was no waiting in the lounge--I literally brought some study materials with me but I had to put them away a minute later because the doctor was ready to see me. The staff already knew me by name before I even entered the office. Dr. Shah is able to look up frames by style/model if you have a very specific frame that you want. I had to have my glasses frames special-ordered because the design was discontinued (but I really liked these frames). The other optometrists I spoke to didn't take the time to look up whether the frame was in stoc, they just assumed it was an older model (and perhaps these other optometrists were hoping I'd come in and buy more expensive frames), but Dr. Shah worked with my budget (and my not-so-great personal vision insurance coverage). The parking lot was pretty empty when I came in on a weekend morning, so there's plenty of parking and you're not driving straight out into a busy street. Dr. Shah is an Elite doctor and the beautiful ladies in the front are superbly kind and answered all my question. They have one of the best selections of glasses and sunglasses. Everyone at this office has been so accommodating, I just had to leave a review. The service here is absolutely amazing! I came in for the first time back in January (2018) for an eye exam and was very pleased from the moment I walked in. On my first visit, I met Susan. If I'm being honest, I was pretty rude to her due to miscommunication on my end, but not once did she approach me in a negative way. I returned recently as I had an eye infection because of the eyelash glue I was using. I let it get so bad that my eyelids started to swell up. My primary doctor was out of town and I was debating whether or not to go to urgent care, but after doing some research online and speaking to Nelly over the phone, she suggested it'd be best I come in as they had all the proper equipment to see what was really going on. I asked her to schedule me in ASAP and she was able to get me in that same day (4/22/19); it worked out perfectly as the scheduled time was during my lunch break. I arrived right on the dot and didn't wait more than 5 minutes before Maggie called me in. Dr. Shah immediately walked in and got started. I thought it was very sweet that even after a year he would remember me, mind you this was only my 2nd time here. I didn't feel rushed and he answered all my questions. He doesn't just give yes or no answers, he goes into detail on why you can or can't do something which is really helpful. I should also mention, I wasn't going in for an eye exam but Dr. Shah asked to check my vision, which got worse and totally sucks!!! I have a follow-up appointment on Tuesday to see how well the ointment has worked and will most likely be getting my yearly eye exam. I was referred to Dr. Shah by my Costco Optometrist because I was diagnosed with super high astigmatism due to a disease called Keratoconus. I couldn't really see well with my glasses and needed some special Scleral lenses for Keratoconus. I was told by my Optometrist that Dr. Shah specializes in these and I needed to see him. I'm so glad I did. His staff was awesome working me into his schedule fast and they did a whole bunch of tests on my eye and took pictures with some cool state of the art machines for the doctor. Dr. Shah then did my exam and reviewed my condition in great detail with me. Explained why my eyes were shaped irregularly and what his game plan was to fix my issue. I really appreciated that he spent a lot of time with me answering all my questions and concerns. I was freaking out cuz I thought I was going blind and Dr. Shah made me feel relaxed and assured me that he was gonna be able to help me see much better. He also worked with my insurance to make sure everything was covered by them. So here's the best part. When I received my contacts, I was able to see better than I've ever seen before in my life. IT IS AMAZING!!!! I've never seen as clearly as I do now. I really appreciate what Dr. Shah did for me. He has changed my life. I've never met a doctor who's so willing to spend time with patients as much time as he spent with me and made me feel so calm as I was a nervous wreck the whole time. The whole experience was great. I even purchased a couple of sunglasses from there and their prices were way more reasonable than other places I've been to in the past. They are so friendly and helpful, it's nice. I'm so glad specialists like him exist to help people like me. I've gone thru 30+ years of my life seeing poorly and no idea why. This man changed my life. First off, Dr Shah's office is THE BEST. I've been going to him for years now, and I'll never see another optometrist as long as I can help it. His reception team is so sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable. They're efficient and one of the few doctors office's I've ever been to that actually honors your appointment time. Most other offices have me waiting 30+ mins after my scheduled time, but that is never the case at Dr. Shah's! Seeing the doctor himself is my favorite part. He's so patient and has taken the time to explain things to me in layman's terms at basically every single appointment I've had with him. Both of my parents also see him, and he'll even take the time to explain things to me about conditions they have and how I can prevent them while I'm young. He never makes me feel bad or scared to ask questions, and he's got a really good eye for frames that fit your face and personality! I'm turning 26 this year and will officially be kicked off my mom's health insurance, and I cannot express how grateful I am that Dr Shah has a groupon out that will allow me to continue seeing him. Honestly, even if he didn't have the groupon, I would still go and use money from my savings or something because that's how much I love this office. Its not just for the cute frames I always walk out with-- the staff here is legitimately my favorite. For example, Dr Shah knows I'm a freelancer who is constantly broke, so he always takes tactful care of me (and my wallet) by showing me the insurance-covered frames first. He and his receptionists never make me feel bad for wanting to price out so many different options, and really let me take my time with that process. I can't say enough how much I appreciate that! Any other optometrist I've been to hasn't come close to creating the warm, welcoming environment that this office offers. Also, last note! The turnaround between my appointment and actually receiving my frames is always so quick, like one week instead of two! Dr. Shah was really friendly Long story short I had a good and bad experience here. First off, I got a frame I guess is unique in the sense it is difficult to adjust. I wish they told me this before I chose the frame because it is painful and does not stay on correctly. With that said, I went back and both Dr. Shah and Susan helped readjust my glasses. And they said they are more than happy to let me choose another frame which is awesome. They did not make me feel uncomfortable for readjusting and they even suggested to offer me different lenses. I found them on Groupon, since I'm a stay at home mom/student, I thought the deal was great. The Dr did the exam and was very polite and awesome, until we came to pick out my glasses. He wanted me to pick some $650+ frames, I politely told him that I was on a budget, as soon as I refused his designer frames, his attitude changed and sent his assistant to help me instead, he was being a little rude about it, I quickly picked out some frames and left. Over all, the frames are very nice and get compliments about them almost every day. Never again would I go there, I felt uncomfortable at the end. :/ read more

After seeing the raving reviews on Dr Shah, I decided to utilize my insurance benefit here. The receptionist lady was super friendly and it was easy breezy to book my appointment after verifying they took my insurance there. Check in & pre screen by staff: The place is one of the smaller offices I have been to but it is neatly kept. The staff greeted me upon entering. I filled out some paperwork and was brought in to get my eyes pre-checked (the hot air balloon image and the puff of air for glaucoma screen). I was pleasantly surprised by the puff of air test because it was not as forceful as all the other places I have been to in the past. I was definitely relieved. Dr Hakimi stopped by to say it is new technology that tests it the same way but is not harsh or startling like the old school ones. Dr one on one: After the testing, I met the doctor for the close up exam in the room. He was the most thorough doctor I have visited and he takes his time when it comes to the visit. It was during my visit that he informed me I had astigmatism (football eyes). Great... I confessed that I was non compliant with glasses wear and wondered what would happen if I chose to opt out of glasses. He kindly said my astigmatism would gradually get worse. There is no cure, but we can prevent it from worsening as fast. It was not great news but glad he took the time to ensure I understood everything explained to me. I even confessed about how I am over sized contact wearer. He did not scold me but informed me there is a high risk for infection. He knew his response would not stop me from wearing them since I like them for cosmetic purposes but just take note and be aware of my eye condition. If there is an issue, please come in and get it checked. Ah... He is so nice. I feel like I can tell him anything :) Choosing glasses: this process seriously took me about two hours (no joke). First off, I did not want to get glasses because the chance of me wearing are minimal. Then, I run into the issue with my face being too round and big and frames looking weird on me. The girl in charge of helping with frames constantly checked up on me but I told her it would take a while. I went from pleasant to unpleasant and frustrated real fast. I told my husband I did not want any glasses since I would not wear them as instructed. He encouraged me to get a pair and wear as needed. At least I will have them there... True. The girl was very patient and even asked if I wanted to go eat first before making a decision. It did not sound right coming out at the time but she clarified saying sometimes people get frustrated because they are hungry. I was appreciative of the recommendation but did not want to return for this tedious process. In the end, we finally chose a pair I was satisfied with and shall pick it up 7-10 business day. I bought a pair of glasses from your years ago the last me longer than any other pair I've ever owned. So of course I decided to get another pair glasses came apart within the first few months on the left side due to manufacturers defect. I called in to the office and spoke to Dr shah who completely took care of me. He offered to replace the frames at no cost even though they had no warranty or guarantee. I have never heard of another optometrist willing to go so far for a patient even though they did not have any obligation to do so, simply because they felt it's the right thing to do. I can't tell you how impressed I am with Dr. Shah and his staff. I've done medical & efficacy reviews for state & federal health depts, and have a good take on what constitutes merely passable vs SUPERLATIVE service (I'm also an Amazon top reviewer). After reading their great reviews on Yelp, I purchased an Amazon Local coupon for optometry services. Though impressed with the warmth & conscientiousness of Dr. Shah and his staff (for example, the extremely thorough eye exam), I expected more of a discount on the glasses, & complained. I"m afraid i wasn"t very reasonable about it, or polite, I'm ashamed to say- you know, everything had gone wrong that day, plus short on money, etc. How merchants/practitioners handle complaints is a great way to gauge their integrity. Not only did they take no offense whatsoever, did not take my belligerence personally, they obviously had only one central concern- my well-being and satisfaction. Dr. Shah called me at home to explain the ins and outs of the amazon progam. The discount would have been greater but I needed highly specialized lenses due to multiple problems with my eyes (indeed, I visited another optometrist a few months earlier and she missed the early stages of cataracts and macular problems, & the glasses I received did little to help my vision). Dr. Shah took the time to explain every detail, both during the exam and later on the phone. What a kind and ultra-conscientious man. The office manager and other staff were just as kind and helpful. A TIP: (from Dr. Shah's assistant): Call in advance to get an idea of costs, especially regarding coupons. She told me many prospective clients call before purchasing coupons, or call to find out about insurance co-pays, etc. They welcome such calls. I actually saved a LOT on the glasses, and now I can SEE (though I'll be needing surgery at some point). I threw the glasses I got from the previous optometrist in the trash, useless. Dr. Shah and his staff get my HIGHEST recommendation, not accorded lightly. Besides all the foregoing, they have an eclectic selection of top quality frames. Found this place on Yelp & through my insurance. 1. Walk-ins are welcome- it really means you sit and hope the appts are no-shows 2. I needed glasses, the dr told me my written prescription looked like bifocals. Later, I verified and was told the prescription was written like that in case I wanted progressives...not bifocals. So, who knows what the dr was talking about. But, he told me he knew how to fill my prescription. But, didn't he just say they were bifocals? 3. We asked about retinal images. The dr tried to tell us he does everything the imaging does without the images. Talking fast trying to convince us but I continued to ask questions to find out it's a basic eye exam. 4. My eyeglass prescription is low. The dr told me my insurance wouldn't cover my glasses. We went back & forth. I asked to verify MY insurance. He kept debating. Finally he started checking something on the computer. So, when I got home, I verified with my insurance that my glasses are covered. 5. He told me Lenscrafters is out of network. I told him they are in-network. Why the debates with this dr? We just left. He tried to get us to stay but no. Debate with another patient. Others had luck here. We didn't. We both went on to Lenscrafters and are waiting for our glasses to arrive. read more

I've been coming to this place since I was in middle school. Well... I'm 23 now, and every single visit has been a pleasant experience. All of the staff are very polite and professional. Dr. Shah is very straight forward on what he thinks is best for you. He knows exactly what to get for you based on your daily lifestyle and budget. In addition, a few years ago, he recommended me for LASIK surgery. It was truly the best thing I ever did! I just went for my annual eye exam with Dr. Shah. The office is clean, welcoming, and COVID protocol is strictly adhered to. But this is not why I have chosen, since 2004, to come here for my eye care. I go because of the professionalism and care that I receive from the staff. I always receive a friendly greeting and conversation from everyone working the front desk when I walk in. Dr. Shah often greets me in the waiting area and lets me know he'll be with me soon. I appreciate the personal approach Dr. Shah has with his patients. We usually spend the first 5 minutes discussing basketball - the NBA draft, trades, next season, and everything Lakers. I came here because groupon, doctor is really helpful, but lenses selection is poor, no brand lenses, and the one in stock are not the best in quality, and prices for frames are high compared to any other store.
