I went there when Fitchman bought my eye doctor out. Once SightMD bought it I noticed changes. I…read morewas given an appointment card, when I came in they told me my appointment had been rescheduled. I asked why I wasn't informed, they had no answer. Then they closed "temporarily". I asked for my medical records so I could give then to a new doctor. I called, got no answers, I texted, no answers. When I finally got to talk to someone they asked which doctor I was going to. I told them it doesn't concern them, I need my records, please. They told me I had to download a patient records request form and mail it. I did and received nothing. I started all over again 6 weeks later. I found an email address and told them that if I didn't get my records I would get the AGs office involved as itbis my right to have my records. They said they couldn't find my initial request but they needed a request, could I resend? I did, certified mail. That day they called and left a vm stating they found the initial letter and have mailed the records. Sight MD has ruined the former Fitchman practice by getting too big too quick, lack of staffing and lessening the quality of care.

I can't say enough good things about this location. My husband had cataract surgery with Fichman,…read morethe initial appointments and follow up's were in Torrington but the surgery was in Manchester and he came out with 20/20 vision and was extremely happy with the whole experience. Fast forward a couple of years hubby comes down with a case of shingles on his head that also affected his left eye. I called around to make an appointment and was told, well we can fit you in in 2-3+++ months...blah blah. Then it came to me, Fichman!!! Called and the angel Merrell said "we consider this a medical emergency" and got us in the same day! It has been a tough road with loss of vision and another emergency same day visit with a flair up but this office has done everything they could possibly do with no delays and with the utmost compassion. I truly believe if we didn't get an appointment quickly my husband would probably be blind in that eye now. Many thanks and forever grateful!!!

I'm honestly so frustrated with my experience at My Eye Dr. I have been a patient for a long time &…read morealways had wonderful experiences until today. I had an appointment scheduled, and when they called to confirm, they mentioned it was a "virtual appointment in the office." Wait, what? Only one doctor does in-person appointments? Why on earth is that the case? That feels so strange for a practice that should be providing direct eye care, especially when the need for an in-person evaluation can vary so much. When I arrived at the office, they told me they were running a little bit behind, I had another appointment to get to, so I asked how behind & she said 30 minutes. Fine, I get it, things happen. But I waited over an hour for my virtual appointment. No one bothered to reach out ahead of time to let me know the delay, and that just feels incredibly unprofessional. If I were late for my appointment, I'm pretty sure I'd get rescheduled or not seen at all, so why is it acceptable for them to be this behind with no communication? The whole experience raises so many questions. Why is the in-person option so limited? Only one doctor doing in-person appointments? That doesn't seem like great eye care, especially when the purpose of these visits should be to ensure patients are getting personalized attention. I expect more transparency and respect for my time as a patient. Really disappointing overall. When I spoke to the virtual Dr, everything seemed rush, we had a miscommunication about the type of lenses I wanted and I just felt defeated leaving the exam room. I even asked if it was possible to try a different option and was told I'd be charged for that fitting, you're already fitting me, what do you mean? When I checked out, the woman checking me out (Mary I believe was her name) was shocked I was still there since my appointment was 2 hours prior to she apologized and was so super helpful to me. I told her I wasn't comfortable placing an order at this time. But if I decide to do so, I will speak with her directly.

A year ago, I arrived for my appointment and they told me it was a zoom exam and I owed $44. I…read morerefused that and ultimately got to see Dr. Sparks in person. Today I arrived for my appointment and they said I had checked the box for a zoom exam. This was a lie! I would not have done that after I had the bad experience last year. Don't trust them!
