He has always taken time to explain every aspect of your care. When I mentioned having a stoke since my last visit he really bore down with questions and tests to make sure that it did not impact my vision. I am not an expert but Dr Deluca seems to have the latest technology to assist in making a diagnosis. It is important to note that he uses the technology to assist in the diagnosis rather than to make the diagnosis. It is the time he spends evaluating the tests, in your presents, explaining the results for which I am particularly grateful. Dr Deluca recently split with his former partner. I think it says a lot that the entire staff elected to remain with Dr Deluca. I can't say enough about the staff. From the women at reception, the women that assist Dr Deluca, to the men and women that fit and adjust your glasses. They are all top notch. Caring, informative, and above all expert at their jobs I would also like to mention that Dr Deluca had to "fix" the two prescriptions I had prescribed by his former partner. Bottom line. We don't think we can get the same care anywhere. The office staff is as wonderful as the doctors! They are very professional as well as approachable. Any questions you might have during the exam will be answered. They are always very accommodating when we need an appointment and thankfully we've never needed emergency care but we do know other family members who have been in that situation and they were seen immediately. You can't find better eyecare!

After 2 unsuccessful visits to other places I was directed here. Wish I had gone here first! They accepted Medicare and quickly helped me to buy 2 new pairs of glasses, one mostly covered by Medicare. There was a $30 co-pay, which was great for my bifocals and the other pair was reasonable. Now I have both pairs ordered and will soon be wearing my new ones. Everyone at this shop was very helpful and friendly. I'm letting everyone I know about this place.

They do her exam & we go sit down for them to order the glasses and they gave me paperwork for me sign something saying insurance will cover this and that... please keep in mind that I stated numerous times that the insurance doesn't sound right as my husbands insurance through work was no longer active. They said it's pulling up so let them pay. Okay cool. I go to sign paperwork and my daughter's first name is spelled correctly, her last name isn't. My daughter's birthdate is wrong... they initially told me that the woman just copied it over wrong & it's fine... then she begins looking back and forth a bit more closely and finds that the last name is spelled this "incorrect" way... then they ask me if my name is Crystal and I say no. Suddenly everything that was covered through insurance needs to be paid. We cancelled ordering glasses with the understanding that I would just order online and then they tried to charge me for today's visit. They tried justifying it by saying they were reimbursing me for something from our previous visit that should never have been ordered to begin with. I made it clear that I wasn't paying because she has insurance that they apparently no longer take & it's not on me that they ran the wrong one. I did walk out with my refund from the previous visit and I plan to reschedule my daughter's visit with another business. Any business that is okay with brushing off the fact that they were running the wrong insurance as if it's no big deal and has still tried to run it in the beginning is shady. Really makes me wonder what they've been up to. I do intend to report them because this is not okay.

It happened with my primary care physician (as well as his replacement). It happened to my dentist. And it happened to my eye doctor. So that explains why in December 2015, I became a patient of Solinsky Eye Care when they took over my eye doctor's practice upon his retirement. Solinsky has ten locations across Connecticut, and I visit Dr. Jessica Olewnik at the Avon office. She has been fantastic to work with. She is friendly, personable, and extremely thorough and helpful. Solinsky is very proactive on keeping up with technology and industry advances. Did you have one of those field of vision exams? Just a few years ago, the current technology would have you stick your face into a contraption that reminded me of a submarine captain peering into a periscope, like Sean Connery did in "The Hunt for Red October". Well, that is no longer state of the art. Yesterday I had the same test using a Virtual Reality headset! And I have to mention Solinsky's Front Desk Associate (I'm embarrassed I can't remember her name) who may be the greatest goodwill ambassador I've ever seen in a medical setting. She's been there forever and is a holdover from Solinsky's predecessor.

They gave me an appointment for a week after I called. I arrived there at 7:30 am, Angela the Ophthalmic Nurse was very friendly, patient and sweet. She did some tests on my eyes, until the doctor arrived. Doctor Olewnik, confirmed I have dry eye. She prescribed me eyedrops, also gave me a sample of the same drops, so I could use them immediately, until my prescription arrived in the mail. My eyes have healed nicely, and are no longer watering. I'll be returning to Solinsky Eye Care for future eye care needs.
