We travel over an hour to see Dr Reiners for the care of our eyes. He treats us with such care and…read morecompassion; it keeps us coming back. He is thoughtful and through in his approach to our care. He is knowledgeable and experienced. His office staff is helpful and pleasant to work with, I would not hesitate to recommend this office to anyone for complete and total eyecare.

I've had several visits at BEC and have never been satisfied…read more My first visit, I was not introduced to the doctor. He didn't come into the exam and say anything other than to begin the exam. I found this to be rude. I brought my own frames and asked that the progressive lenses be fitted to what I was giving them. At first he fought me, but I insisted. I got the glasses during an extremely busy period at work and didn't go back for three months to tell him the prescription was way off. He wanted to charge me for new lenses saying that I waited too long to tell them. I fought this vigorously. Eventually, he conceded and corrected the lenses which I still felt were not strong enough. Nine months later, I wanted two new frames filled and was doing so as I still had insurance and was retiring and would no longer have coverage. He insisted on another eye exam, which was charged to insurance. When I got the two pairs (one was progressive sunglasses, the other regular progressives), neither came out right. This time I went back immediately. He said he would only fix one (at his cost). The other I'd have to pay for the change. I saw a review by someone named Jonathan, and I agree with him. I feel like the doctor is giving prescriptions that are slightly off to ensure a customer's return in a year to upgrade their prescription and thereby incur another expense. The glasses were slightly off and the way I knew they could have been better was by putting on my old prescription! I'm not going back.

Great office to work with and friendly staff! Good care with a classic style doctor's office feel.read more

REVIEW:After asking for a record of my prescription, which I was supposed to be given initially for…read moremy records, I was denied. Following suite, my request for my own medical records, something I am unequivocally entitled to as part of my HIPAA rights, was immediately followed by the termination of care not only for me, but also for my wife and my five-year-old son. This sequence of events strongly suggests their decision was retaliatory in nature. It is particularly troubling that my child's care was discontinued despite him having no involvement in this matter. You can see the letter sent to a five year old! Terminating treatment for a minor under these circumstances reflects poorly on this practice's judgment and raises ethical concerns. Though we found the doctor to be very good, there were repeated instances of unprofessional and dismissive behavior from their front desk staff (a trend, I see, according to other reviews). These included: -Resistance to addressing a defect in an expensive, newly purchased lens -Dismissive communication when I attempted to clarify that I had not received my prescription -A general unwillingness to acknowledge that patients are legally entitled to receive their prescriptions without needing to request them These experiences demonstrated a pattern of prioritizing administrative convenience and financial interests over patient respect and basic professional courtesy. This practice's response to a lawful records request--culminating in termination of care--only reinforced our concerns. Patients should not feel that exercising their legal rights will result in punitive action.
