It's always a pleasant atmosphere in her office and there's never any pushy upselling of any kind. It's a simple and no pressure eye doctor visit. I enjoy browsing the eyewear without someone hounding me and trying to upsell me. The two individuals that are in charge of the eyewear area are very nice and laid back. They're honest with their feedback and suggest what looks best but leave the ultimate decision to you. This office has the most up to date technology!!!! She took the time to show me images of my eyes and really explain everything, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. She also gave me a printed sheet with different therapies to help with my dry eyes, which I thought was super helpful. I will come back next year :)

Dr. Epstein's office staff is warm, friendly, and very accommodating. The wait time for my appointment was very brief. I needed to get both of my surgeries done within a month's time to benefit from having met my insurance deductibles that calendar year. Cheryl, his office manager, was able to fit me in to the surgical center's schedule. Dr. Epstein is a very kind and gentle person. He is an extraordinarily exceptional surgeon, and he pays very close attention to exacting standards and patient comfort. His bedside manner is perfect. He is a very calm and thorough doctor.I wore glasses all of my life since grade 3, and now I am enjoying 20/20 vision for the first time in my life. I experienced absolutely no discomfort whatsoever. The day after the surgery I was able to see! I had to remind myself to avoid bending and lifting, because it did not feel as though I had any surgery at all. I wish that I could stand on a street corner and tell everyone I saw how ecstatic I am with my cataract surgery performed by Dr. Epstein. I am an artist and my eyes are my livelihood. I had a great deal of trepidation going to a new office after my trusted physician of many years retired. I saw Dr. Epstein on the advice from my cardiologist, despite the fact his office is at the opposite end of the state from my home. He is worth the travel. Cheryl contacted me prior to my appointment and explained in detail what to expect. She sent me all the necessary paperwork so I was able to complete it in the comfort of my home. I was happy to find the office is a free standing clean medical building with ample free parking. Julie greeted me at the front desk and is very kind and personable. She gave me a key for the restroom which is a single room and very clean. Tara took down my initial medical information in a kind and caring manner. Dr. Epstein arrived very prepared, addressed me by name and was clearly aware of my medical history. He obviously does his homework. My surgeries went exactly as he said it would. The entire process was very smooth. Cheryl provided me with a comprehensive check list for the eyedrops, which was so helpful. I know friends whom used other providers were very confused by this and received no instructions. Dr. Epstein's medical acumen is surpassed only by his care and compassionate bedside manner; a trait that is only too rare in physicians today. Go to this man. You will be glad you did. The whole tenor of this office is calm and happy. Dr. Epstein's office deserves a million stars!

It happened with my primary care physician (as well as his replacement). It happened to my dentist. And it happened to my eye doctor. So that explains why in December 2015, I became a patient of Solinsky Eye Care when they took over my eye doctor's practice upon his retirement. Solinsky has ten locations across Connecticut, and I visit Dr. Jessica Olewnik at the Avon office. She has been fantastic to work with. She is friendly, personable, and extremely thorough and helpful. Solinsky is very proactive on keeping up with technology and industry advances. Did you have one of those field of vision exams? Just a few years ago, the current technology would have you stick your face into a contraption that reminded me of a submarine captain peering into a periscope, like Sean Connery did in "The Hunt for Red October". Well, that is no longer state of the art. Yesterday I had the same test using a Virtual Reality headset! And I have to mention Solinsky's Front Desk Associate (I'm embarrassed I can't remember her name) who may be the greatest goodwill ambassador I've ever seen in a medical setting. She's been there forever and is a holdover from Solinsky's predecessor.

They gave me an appointment for a week after I called. I arrived there at 7:30 am, Angela the Ophthalmic Nurse was very friendly, patient and sweet. She did some tests on my eyes, until the doctor arrived. Doctor Olewnik, confirmed I have dry eye. She prescribed me eyedrops, also gave me a sample of the same drops, so I could use them immediately, until my prescription arrived in the mail. My eyes have healed nicely, and are no longer watering. I'll be returning to Solinsky Eye Care for future eye care needs.

She continues to display the utmost professionalism, expertise, honesty, and if needed empathy. We always leave our visit knowing she has the best interest in the well being our vision. Additionally, the staff is and always has been fantastic. "Moddi" continues to be an expert in helping us pick out just the right glasses for our face frame... We were extremely apprehensive to attend our visit during Covid 19, as I am an OSHA Safety Trainer as well as an Educator in Infection Control Practices, I unconsciously watch to see if everyone is following guidelines. Needless to say, this office practice was spot on and received a 100. The door was locked and only patients who had an appointment were allowed to enter. The entire office was immaculate, seats and touch areas were immediately washed after use. Masks all worn properly, hands washed, touch surfaces such as countertops were washed, glasses that were tried on were sanitized, equipment washed in front of us prior to use. What I didn't like about this office was how much they push sales. When I was getting fitted for glasses I just wanted to get what the insurance would completely pay for-which was one pair of frames on the rack. I didn't want any of the extra add-ons or insurance and even after saying no it was continuously repeated to me. I get that it's their job to sell but if I say I don't want it, I don't want it. I also had retinal imaging done while I was there and I was informed that it wasn't covered by the insurance, it was a $30 charge. I had it done and as I was sitting with the optician my break down of benefits that she had in front of her very clearly stated that retinal imaging was covered under my plan. They still charged me and said that they will bill my insurance for the procedure but it wasn't a covered service. I later spoke to my insurance and they did confirm that the break down of benefits was correct and that I shouldn't have been charged for the imaging. A few days after the appointment I called my insurance to make sure that the retinal imaging was billed, and the office left it off the claim. The office in turn lied when they said they would still bill my insurance. The office staff also gave me a problem when I asked for my pupillary distance and my frame measurements. I understand that they want the patients to order frames through their office, but in the event that I need to replace my glasses, I will not pay the hundreds of dollars when there are much more affordable ones online and a much wide seThe patient has every right to obtain their own information and the office can't withhold it for their own benefit.
