West End Eyecare is wonderful. I've been seeing Dr. Hardison for about 4 years now, and it's a pleasure to be in his care. Not only is he an abundance of knowledge, he is compassionate and truly cares about his patients. Not only is Dr. Hardison a great optometrist, but his staff is courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Being a part of this business is like being a part of a family. I'm a type 1 diabetic, along with having some other health issues, and it's been important to me to find a doctor who understands and is familiar with this. Hardison and his team have been my saving grace since I moved to Central Connecticut about 5 years ago. Love, love, love West End Eyecare. They will do anything and everything to take care of you! read more

I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago. They called me daily to confirm my appointment (really annoying). Then cancel my appointment the morning of my appointment. Absolutely no heads up. Zero courtesy. No appointment available for another 2 weeks. Horrible experience. read more

Excellent service. Individual service from astaff unlike anothr opthamologist in West Hartford where you are treated with cattle. Unlike that place, opthamologist takes his time with you rather than rushing out to the next patient. Does not try to sell you hearing ads. read more

West End Eye Care is bar none the best eye practice in Connecticut. Dr. Lauren Colite and her team are beyond amazing. They took care of my eye care needs in a professional and efficient manner. I highly recommend them for all of your eye care needs whether it's glasses, contacts or a routine eye exam. read more

I was trying to schedule a appointment with my doctor. I had called to speak to Sasha because she had got me one appointment last year, first of all when they answered the phone the person who picked up was laughing, as soon as I asked for Sasha they hanged up on my face. I tried calling back and they didn't pick up the phone call. I know it wasn't Sasha because I know her voice. I've called before and never had a problem. It sound like it was either Melissa or Alyssa because like I said I recognize their voice. It was so unprofessional. Luckily I wasn't a family member with a family emergency. read more

It's hard to even explain how much I would recommend this place. They go above and beyond their job to make sure their clients are happy and doing well. They are so friendly and patient with you. Don't just rush you through and are very "every customer matters". You never will feel like just another customer here. Again HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I actually get excited to come here every year. They are the absolute best. Their knowledge and experience is automatically recognized. You end up creating a personal connection to them. In health care the biggest problem is not spending enough time to understand your patients needs. This is not a problem here. They will spend all day with you if it meant you left confident with all your questions answered. I would never leave here. Absolutely amazing every single person here. read more

Wonderful service all around! I came in with my boyfriend today to pick up some new glasses that he selected early last week. First off, the office is pretty huge - I didn't expect such a lovely place judging by the Farmington Ave storefront next to Tisane. Wanda was extremely helpful and efficient - while I moseyed along trying on frames, she made sure Nick was good to go with his new prescription (and made sure he didn't forget his adorable 'goody bag' of glasses cleaner, etc). We were in and out within ten minutes. And even though they were getting ready to close for the day, it didn't feel like the staff were rushing us out. Overall, great experience! I know we're ditching the mall Lenscrafters in favor of West End Eye Care. read more

I came to West End because I needed contacts and glasses. Even though it looks like a big house on Farmington and Whitney it is a nice facility inside. There are two waiting rooms, an optical department and several exam rooms. I met with Dr. Hardison and Dr. Kain and both were friendly and professional. read more

I've found my new eye care location! Convenient location, fun waiting room, fast and friendly workers, great doctor- yes please! read more

West End Eye Care - "Library" waiting area - Optometrists Near Me - Hartford, Connecticut

I recently moved to WeHa and was in long overdue eye care. West End has some of the best reviews and all of them have been well earned. I walked in and was greeted promptly. I can't remember all the names of everything but collectively 5 women helped me and took amazing care of me. The doctor was easy to talk to and very reassuring. I'll definitely be back and hope others visit them as well read more

My name is Emile and I am glad to be able to leave this review. Dr. Colite has diagnosed my retinal tear and took prompt measures to arrange for the immediate procedure to stave off an imminent danger of vision loss. I was taken at once in according to seriousness of the situation. I sat in the chair feeling lost and upset, thinking of my job and my future, if I were to lose vision. This doctor came in and has taken over the process. She was swift but all was done with calm, measured precision that made myself and my family feel safe and in good hands. No concern was minimized or ignored. This happened within hours of clinic closure on the New Year's Eve. Today is December 31 and she has made this the only New Year's gift that mattered. My heartfelt gratitude goes to her efficient staff as well. read more

I came to West End Eyecare after moving back to CT, since it was near my job in Hartford. HORRIBLE mistake. It's a beautiful building, and everything was good with the eye physicians and the exam itself. The issue is the people behind the desk. I first called ahead of time to check the coverage of my insurance and where I would be at after I get a contacts fitting and what I would have afterward left to go toward ordering lenses. I was told good news, that my insurance covers my full exam, fitting, and I'll have a leftover amount toward purchasing lenses. Well, after my fitting I go to pay, and apparently I owed almost $20, which I paid, though I was questioning it all. They told me if I choose to order elsewhere, and find a better price I can go back and order it through them, and they will price match. I call recently to order my lenses, and find out there's no allowance left over in my insurance to pay for my contacts. I call with a secondary insurance, and call my primary to figure out what is going on. In the meanwhile, I'm told they will not price match on contacts for astigmatism (even though I was told TWICE before that they would.) My primary insurance company dealt with one of the women behind the desk, and tells me that I have enough left over to order contacts with both insurances. I come to find out, that this isn't the case when I speak with West End and they talk to me like I have 3 heads!!!! (Even though I spoke with the same woman who spoke to my insurance company.) I am completely annoyed by this business. They charge WAY too much for a fitting, if you ask me. I've had much more pleasant experiences at other optometrists before I moved. In fact, I found they charged double what I would pay when I used to go to an optometrist in Middletown. I will take the extra drive back down there next year when I need another exam. West End will NOT be getting my business ever again. read more

West End Eye Care: the best ophthalmologists we have ever been to in our many years of needing glasses. All of the doctors are excellent-thorough, efficient and friendly. We are from Florida and go to Hartford (where we have a house) for our eye care. Every aspect of this group is really wonderful! read more

West End Eye Care is a staple of the community. I have had my eyes examined there at least three times, but the most recent time that I went happens to be my most memorable. Dr. Lauren B. Coletti was the Optometrist who completed the examination. I went on a Saturday morning, which I was happily able to get with only a 1 month wait. The office is clean, the staff are friendly, and made the experience really fantastic this particular visit. On weekends they have limited hours, so I was surprised that I was the only one in the office. I guess most of their peak business takes place during the week. However, I will say that this particular visit was so fast and efficient it left me somewhat skeptical. The appointment was only 30 minutes as opposed to 1 hour previously. Not that I'm complaining, but I was extremely surprised. But Dr. Coletti was very nice and shared the positive results of previous tests from the past to current to show my eye issues have been improving over the years. That to me was such a wonderful thing, to know I had progressive improvements! I was pleasantly surprised! I would recommend this place to others for exams, but for eyewear you may want to check around. The selections to me are dated and priced out of range for what's being offered (overpriced). read more

Full faith in Dr. Nedelcu care of my eyes. 30 yrs if eye appts, he was the only and 1st to find hole in my right eye. I followed him from his last practice. New office, new staff, and all on point in my book! read more

So I took my previous review down because I received a call this morning from the office manager. She took time out of her morning to discus and come up with a solution to the situation at hand. She apologized for the miss communication and made me as a patient feel important. She explained that the receptionist had a miss communication and she honestly is a nice person. I told her where I can from and she apologized but reassured me that she, the receptionist and staff do care. We have our bad days with misunderstandings. But they took the time to talk to me and understand where I come from. Because of that they are a successful strong office that has a clean slate with me. read more

The optometrists and eye glass lab were recommended by a friend with challenging eye issues. I want to spread the good news about West End Eye Care. The staff is plentiful, competent, polite, efficient and knowledgeable. Appointments are on time and the eye glass lab technicians are fabulous. My vision is in very good hands and I constantly get compliments on my glasses. I feel any issue will be met with kindness and competency by everyone working at West End. I heartily recommend West End Eye Care for eye examinations and a great selection of all types of eye glasses and eye wear. They'll know you by name just like they do me! the staff was wonderful and professional but they sold me a pair of glasses that were unusable when I went back they told me there was nothing they could do and for another $90 they would fix them. read more

I've been a long time customer of this place, and these guys used to be pretty good, but in the last couple of years, they've really gone down-hill. I've had an issue with the last 3 pairs of glasses I've purchased there (chipped lenses, peeling paint on the frame, no A/R coating on one of the lenses--really gave me a headache!!) I previously recommended them to friends, but when the friends also came back, complaining, I knew it wasn't me. You're better off going somewhere else. I'll be buying my glasses and my family's glasses/contacts elsewhere next time. read more

West End Eye Care has been taking good care of my eyes for probably 18 years! Consistently thorough exams. The great bonus is on premise availability of the most up to date eyewear. Excellent customer service, i.e., when a newly purchased frame proved uncomfortable, it was no problem to exchange. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Maureen, West Hartford, CT read more

I made an appointment at West End Eye Care simply because it is walkable from my home and I had a great experience. I typically have trouble finding eye doctors I like but Dr. Colite was knowledgeable, professional and adorable! I also bought glasses, and got a 20% discount (frames and lenses!) for paying in full!
