They sold me insurance on my glasses telling me if they get scratched , break, get lost or stolen they will be repaired or replaced.. it's a lie... they will not replace them .. they told me I had to pay full price .. it's all about them getting commissioning on sales .. Absolutely amazing from start to finish! As a clinician I am fully aware of how impossible healthcare can be. I had occasion to visit Dr. Romano for a standard eye exam and she took the appropriate time to explain the information behind all of her findings. Fast forward to an injury and again I was seen immediately she provided expert guidance and care and substantiation to support my need as outlined bt my OT and GP so WC was finally on board. They worked to obtain my urgently needed glasses quickly even giving me the option to take the script to see if I could get it filled quicker elsewhere. Everyone in that facility from the receptionist to the manager and even the young ladies who assist with choosing frames...not just based on looks but suitability for how and when the glasses would be used. AND when symptoms still persisted there was a prompt visit and an expedient solution....the staff there is AMAZING, KIND AND WONDERFUL! And being of a certain age, THIS is also valuable info... I have lost trust in the office. Dr. Strand is the great doctor but unfortunately he is not seeing the patients in this location anymore. I was rescheduled with Dr. Romano. That was the worst experience in my life. Dr. Romano is unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. Instead of discussing my treatment, she tried to discuss Dr. Strand personal issues and she told me she has SAME CREDENTIALS like him while I didn't ask her about her background. Her bad manners, unprofessionalism and disrespectful attitude toward patients are the reason for my family, friends and myself to look for another eye doctor/place. read more

I had cataract surgery and was having some complications on a Saturday morning. My opthomologist was closed and there was no one on call. I called Total Vision and left a message. Within a few minutes I received a return call from Dr. Strand. I described my concerns about my vision she asked several questions. She gave her opinion that waiting for my opthomologist to follow up on Monday was appropriate. The following day - a Sunday - Dr. Strand called again to check how I was doing 24 hours later! And I wasn't even their patient yet! Dr. Strand was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. I was very relieved and am very grateful. read more

I will never come to this location to purchase glasses, they like to rip you off. They give you a price and then they send you a bill that you owe them more money. I have a GREAT eye insurance that covers just about everything (VSP). Another unsatisfied costumer. But I will admit the eye doctor and the assistant are fabulous. The only issue here is when you sit with the lady that sells the glasses. She did admit it was her fault when she priced me but I have to pay for her mistake. Not good business. I would love to give a higher review but I just can't. I have lost trust in the office, not Dr. Strand. Been a patient for decades... before he was at this location. Recently slippery behavior has frustrated myself and my family. From not respecting our request to see Dr. Strand himself and making the appointment with other Dr's in the office. To not providing itemized receipts or prescriptions at the end of appointments. To placing material holds on our insurance when it was clearly stated we planned to buy the specialty glasses elsewhere. If you plan to buy your glasses at Total Vision and your insurance pays whatever he charges great. Total Vision is a great place to go. But... if you need an itemized bill for your HSA Card or your script so you can get your glasses/contacts where they are much more affordable? Steer clear, you can get equal care elsewhere without the irritation, hustle or charge. (The fancy picture of the inside of your eye that is $40+ was included free in my son's last exam elsewhere) read more

I waited a half hour to before the doctor came in to exam me. When I went to pick out frames the worker helping left and I had to go find him to tell him I was ready. When I was notified to pick my glasses up I went in and when the worker came out she didn't even sit down when I tried them on. Needless to say I had to go back to get my glasses adjusted. Unfortunately they are still not working well. They don't provide your prescription unless you request a copy which I think is strange. read more

I had a visit at TotalVision today in Newington and it went quite well. I arrived ten minutes early and filled out the paperwork marking that I was not interested in dilation. I was then brought back for pre-screening with a lovely tech. We chatted as I participated in the tests and then went to the exam room where I waited for several minutes. At this point I noticed that I had been in office 45 minutes past my appointment and still had not seen the doctor, a shocking amount of time for a retired optician to experience as I was used to working with doctors who typically exam in 15 minutes and send patients out the door! Having the time and special attention was fine but I would advice to plan accordingly. The doctor generously examined my retina manually and dilation free and sent me in my way with my new personalized prescription. Thank you! read more

The Dr I saw was excellent! The office staff however were kind of rude and said they forgot to charge me for some extra fee. I was told I could pay when I came to pick up my glasses, was not charged again and now they keep sending collection letters. Not impressed with the Office Staff at all. read more

The exam and service are very good and more thorough and complete than I've had anywhere else.The tech and the doctor were excellent. However, be sure to ask lots of questions about glasses and prices BEFORE you select frames. The pricing was very confusing and a little shady and only came back with a clear number AFTER I was about to leave. My insurance only covers glasses or contacts so I chose to apply them to the contacts. I still got them cheaper at Walmart WITHOUT insurance since I wear contacts 95% of the time and I don't need high quality glasses. read more

i went to Total vision when it was on Fenn rd next to stop and shop... pretty bad experience then, probably that's why i would never go back to this place even after they moved to their new location.... the front desk staff just didn't care about the patients.. she told me to take out my contacts..and then go pick out a pair glass frames on the wall... r u serious? maybe the reason I'm wearing contacts is because i can't see that well.. and then when i told her that i can't see that well without my contacts..she mumbled under her breathe... very nice of her!!! she totally made me feel conscious about my eye sight... and then they con me into buying a pair of $400 glasses when they knew i was using them for a week because i had an eye infection.. i haven't wore glasses in 20 years... why on earth would i pay that kinda money on a pair that i would only wear until the infection goes away?? they wouldn't hear of it... "no no.. these are the glasses you want.... " now i realize all their products are super overpriced.. should've known going in... my fault.. read more
