I had such a great experience at Occulus. It was my first time attending this office and the office itself is really nice and clean, and everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. I was trying to get an appointment this month but they were fully booked. They still added me to a cancellation list, and I ended up getting in way sooner, which I really appreciated. Dr. Cha was honestly the best. She was so sweet and easy to talk to, and she didn't rush at all. She took the time to show me images of my eyes and really explain everything, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. She also gave me a printed sheet with different therapies to help with my dry eyes, which I thought was super helpful. I will come back next year :) read more

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. J. Cha for many, many years. In fact, we followed her here since the Lens Crafters by us closed and moved because that's how we originally found Dr. Cha. This Glastonbury location is very tidy and clean. Anyone that is going near my eyes and examining them MUST be clean! Dr. Cha and her staff are nothing short of exceptional. They're all professional, knowledgeable, helpful and super personable. It's always a pleasant atmosphere in her office and there's never any pushy upselling of any kind. It's a simple and no pressure eye doctor visit. I enjoy browsing the eyewear without someone hounding me and trying to upsell me. The two individuals that are in charge of the eyewear area are very nice and laid back. They're honest with their feedback and suggest what looks best but leave the ultimate decision to you. This office has the most up to date technology!!!! I'm forever grateful for the new puff of air device that is handheld now and it's just a "tickle". Great eyewear selection. Glasses come with a one year warranty on frames and lenses. We are bringing our son here for his very first eye exam. I highly recommend OculusDocs! read more

OculusDocs was recommended to me by a close friend due to the quality of care and service they had received - and they were not exagerating. Everyone in the office was very welcoming, friendly and professional. The office is clean (super clean) and full of impressive imaging machines - being a geek I notice those things - and they had machines for diagnostic tests that I usually have to go to a specialist for. The selection of refreshments near the front desk was a surprise. Dr. O'Neal, who I was meant to see, was not available but Dr. Cha (who I found out later was the owner) had a cancellation and stepped in immediately. She took her time to explain everything she was doing and to make sure I was comfortable throughout the exam. She explained things about my eyes that no other specialist i've seen has ever mentioned. Her remote scribe, Ainry was very funny and kept me company during the short wait for Dr. Cha. When shopping for new glasses, I'm usually ignored or pressured into higher cost frames so I was honesty was just going to put the new perscription in my old frames, but Christian was welcoming and low pressure. He very quickly picked out 5 or 6 frames of varying styles and let me decide whether to try them or stick with my original plan. One of the frames he choose fit me like a glove so I ended up with thoses and still used my old frames as a backup pair. This was the best optometrist experience I've had, ever - everyone is professional, knowledgeable, and thorough - but still kind, funny and welcoming. read more

So far I have been in here twice. It was time for an eye doctor closer to home and I took a chance on a new place. I saw 3 different people and they were all so kind and very informative. I asked a ton of questions and they were happy to explain every little detail to me. Their office was clean and bright and full of help! I would definitely recommend. They also have someone who works specifically with contacts which was so helpful. They have coffee and water to grab while you wait. read more

I got an eye glasses perscription at this oculus and ordered glasses with that perscription online. The perscription in the glasses did not look clear and sharp, so I took the glasses back to lense crafters this oculus is located in to be checked. The glasses were made correctly according to the perscription I was given, so the perscription may have been wrong. I scheduled a recheck at this oculus, but the morning of the recheck I got a call from the practice owner that they would not do the recheck. The practice owner said I was a problem patient because I had declined the pupil dilation and eye pressure test which is required to give an accurate perscription so rechecking would be a liability to them and they would not do the recheck. I said I did not know this and would be happy to do it at the recheck but they still refused to do the recheck. I was given a perscription at the first appointment and they scheduled a recheck for me, so why didn't they say any of this earlier? I would have done the other parts of the exam if I knew it was required to get a good perscription. The practice owner said they would not charge my insurance and would refund my co pay, which is fair. But it seems like they may not give accurate perscriptions and don't stand behind their gaurantee. I will not go to this oculus again. I went to another oculus in CT two years ago and it was fine. When I called Lense crafters they said they don't own the practice so could not do anything about this. I now have to wait a few weeks for an appointment somewhere else, take more time off work, and pay for another pair of glasses. read more

Had a great experience! Needed an exam and they were able to fit me in the next available time which was awesome. The front desk girls were very nice (and funny/easy to talk to) but also really knew their stuff. The doc was very thorough and I was in and out in a reasonable time. My brother needs an exam and he's going next week, definitely would recommend this place to anyone! What a relief! read more

They did not provide me with a prescription for my contact lenses (which is illegal see: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0116-prescription-glasses-and-contact-lenses) and when I called to obtain it, they refused to give it to me. Go somewhere that doesn't break the laws. read more

This review is for the Oculus Optometry group located inside the Middletown LensCrafters. I made my appt online - easy. Got a call and email from receptionist to complete some missing info - easy. I was greeted nicely by the receptionist. They were running on time which is always nice for a doctor's office. Dr. Jola Rzegocki is excellent. She listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I felt well cared for and not rushed. I left with prescription in hand (not sure yet if I'll get new glasses, prescription didn't change much). All-in-all a great, smooth experience. I definitely recommend Dr. Rzegocki, and I'll definitely see her again next year. read more

The worst, most counterproductive and unprofessional environment I've ever experienced. Took four, absolutely useless appointments to get something as simple as another years supply of contacts that rescheduled what seemed to be 100 times. My eyes have been completely different prescriptions my whole life and have been getting progressively worse. After these four appointments, I ended up with a less powerful prescription... and same for both eyes. Being so frustrated by the forth appointment that I had no contacts I paid for the incorrect prescription just to have contacts. Now I'm stuck with a years supply, can barely see and they could clearly care less. Absolutely a terribly ran show there. Will not return. read more
