At my last visit approximately six months ago, my eye pressure was well controlled, and there were no significant changes. I use two glaucoma medications daily and understand the importance of regular follow-up. Unfortunately, after missing a recent appointment, I called to reschedule and was told that the earliest available appointment was at the end of December. I asked whether I could see another provider within the practice sooner, but was told that no earlier appointments were available. I found this extremely disappointing. As a long-term patient with a chronic eye condition that requires ongoing monitoring, I expected better access to care and greater consideration for established patients. What concerns me most is that a practice should not accept more patients than it can reasonably care for. When long-term patients cannot obtain a follow-up appointment for many months, it raises serious questions about access to care and patient service. This experience left me feeling frustrated, undervalued, and disappointed. Rather than waiting until December, I have decided to look for another ophthalmologist. I hope Consulting Ophthalmologists will reconsider how it manages follow-up care for long-term patients with chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma.

In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind. The waiting area is large and generally busy. Be prepared to wait, in stages, from your initial check-in, to another area for post eye dilating drops to kick-in, and of course in the examination room. Other then that no complaints and I'm grateful for their service and every member of their staff. Off the waiting area is their Optometry shop with a full range of eye ware for all ages and activity levels including eye ware for sports enthusiasts.
