Tom told me to go to Google. First that is not where I found you! So Sir... Yelp is where I found…read moreyou Yelp is where I will write. Pioneer PL 930 purchased in 83 Of course... I THOUGHT knew how to balance, and set the anti -skate. All I finally had time to listen to some songs on 33's, 45's from '78... while I garden. yeah right. I had not been in this area of town in a while so why not pick United Vtr Service because America can't figure out how to be at this moment in time. Of do a maintenance on the turntable it never been done. The SERVICE Guaranteed. WHAT!!! . impeccable. I love shops that are what some would call "cluttered unorganized" ...the mind of a mechanical genius ... that means the mind is working intense and focused!

I suspected as lightening strike took away the life of my beloved VCR. I still got hundreds of 8mm tapes with old memories. I really need this sucker to stay alive. I searched on Google to see who can fix this poor baby. I came here to see a messy store. I don't know if this was the owner's living room or bedroom. It was completely chaotic. Prescription bottles on the counter and half eaten lunch with wrapper... WTF? Is this a professional establishment? Customers' records exposed to the plain sight. I took a picture and blurred out the details. There are plenty of Feng Shui paraphernalia on the counter. Aw. My. Gawd. What a giant mess. My VCR was of course unrepairable. It cost $80 to check out. I was quoted with a price that was higher than the cost of a working unit and there was no guarantee if it will last. I was okay to let go. For being an outdated technology, I just have to find a cemetery to bury my baby. Overall, I need to find another repair shop to fix other electronics. Just not at United VTR Service.

Found this place because it was very close to where I work, downtown, dropped by got a reasonable quote, went to work, came back paid for the repair after everything was to satisfaction and left, never thought about it again (until this review). I highly recommend this place, according to them they do almost every type of phone, they also do iPad's and laptop repair. I might bring my laptop in for a tune up if I don't decide to buy a new one soon! 5 stars!

I recently dropped my iPhone which caused the glass to crack, but the phone still worked flawlessly, all the typing, swiping and zooming features were fine. I decided to have the glass replaced since it was only a year old and with very little down time it appeared to be as good as new. But right out the door it seemed to have a slight "rose" shade and when compared to my wife's exact phone there in fact was a slight "rose" tint. But hey, whatever... the phone was fixed. But that night, once I started using the phone in the normal manner that I do it started acting up, as if there were multiple fingers on the screen. It would jump up and down with just a down single finger command. Swiping left and right it would at times just not do it. When trying to close the open apps the boxes would go down when I was commanding them to go up. While trying to type the the letter "A" would not type. When making a phone call the number "1" would give me "11". And when using any of my map apps the map would jump all over and zoom out, when again I was only using on finger. So I gave them a call and they told me to bring it in. Of course when I get there the phone decided to not act up as bad, but non the less it did. They told me to restore it from my back up. They could have told me this when we spoke on the phone the first time. So, I go back home to follow their suggestion, but the problem is still there. Back in the car and back down Richmond to show them the problem is still there. After they worked with the phone they did in fact see it acting in the manner I was describing. They are still telling me it has to do with a "software glitch" and that they going to erase everything from the phone and restore the iOS on their end. I get the phone back after waiting and the phone again seems to be working properly, but at this point all I wanted was to get out of the waiting area. I get home and reinstall everything back on to the phone only to have the same issues again. I asked them, how is it that this phone is having problems since the new glass has been installed? If I am having problems with typing and swiping with the new glass, isn't the problem with the glass? They again said it was a "software glitch" and "the phone is sensing the new hardware". Regarding the "software glitch", my wife's phone and our iPad are both backed up to the same iTunes account and laptop, they are both on the iOS 7 and neither one has these problems. I don't enjoy wasting time with these kinds of issues. I don't like to assume but I am not sure if they are using Apple iPhone glass, between the slight "rose" tint and non commanded actions of the phone I am left with only this to believe. Maybe I have slightly defective Apple iPhone glass, but we'll never know since they never offered to simply swap it out. $99 well spent now that I am going to need a new phone after all. Hopefully it will just be a wash with the trade-in program. For the record I read an article from earlier this month that addresses the new iOS "glitches" and non of this phone's problems are listed in "45 Problems With iOS 7.1, and How to Fix Them".
