She didn't remember me at first but after I said I specifically asked for tips with acrylic she's like no you said gel builder. I told her no I never asked for that because I've been getting them done at a different place but the same style for years and they always last me a month plus. I'm upset because they are extremely thin and bend whenever I put a sock on or they rub against something. I expressed to her this is not what I asked for and they weren't done correctly. When they fixed my toe the first time it doesn't even match the color as the other ones and it was done poorly as you can tell by the photo. Now this is the second nail that has broken off. First one cracked off from bedding after putting on a sock. Second one broke off from moving my toe against my blanket. One employee did tell me she remembers when I said acrylic but the manager said to lady doing my toes to do gel builder. Also, did ask for them shorter but they didn't do it either. My mistake for not paying more attention and speaking up. Probably was done to get the job done faster. Extremely dissatisfied with this service. The manager (owner) really tried to blame me for choosing gel builder even though I did not and I told her over and over I did not choose it. Unfortunately, my last several experiences have been disappointing. Almost every time I schedule an appointment, I end up waiting 10-15 minutes past my scheduled time because they're so busy accommodating walk-ins. I completely understand that salons get busy, but what's the point of making an appointment if it isn't respected? Once I finally get in the chair, the service feels rushed, and the quality of my nails has definitely suffered. My most recent visit was especially frustrating. I went in for a fill but was told I needed an entirely new set. My acrylics hadn't been on that long and seemed perfectly fine to me, but I trusted the professional's recommendation. What wasn't explained beforehand was that I would be charged separately for the removal AND the new full set. To make matters worse, the polish looks terrible. It's lumpy, has what appears to be air bubbles, and is so poorly cured that I can actually push the polish around on top of my nails. For a service that cost over $70 before tip, I expect much better quality. I really wanted to continue supporting Lumi because I've been a loyal customer, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to justify the prices when the quality and overall experience continue to decline. It feels like they're prioritizing getting as many customers through the door as possible rather than taking care of the ones who have made appointments. Unfortunately, I think it's time to start looking for a new nail salon.
