I walked in at 9:30am on a Saturday. There was one person in there getting a pedicure, and one lady waiting. I told them I just wanted a basic manicure. No polish, no frills. He asked me to take a seat. He then said it would be a few minutes. He then called someone and came back over. He said we are very busy, I had to call the manager. I said no problem. A few min later he came back and said can you come back later. I said no. They clearly did not want my business. From the moment I said what service I wanted, I could tell he didn't want my business. I will never go back here again. If taking walk ins was such an issue, don't advertise offering walk in business. read more

I wouldn't expect that a small nail salon in a strip mall would become my new go-to, but it ABSOLUTELY has! I went the first time with a friend for some last minute self care but the quality is so good I will definitely be going back. Cassie is the first nail tech I got and she was wonderful. She's super funny and she did a wonderful job. I was able to see some nail art that she did for other customers and I absolutely intend on coming back to her and getting a full set! So talented. Pretty disappointed. They can do an okay job but be careful when it comes to designs! The only thing they have mastered is solid colors. All I wanted was a fill and French tip manni. She didn't fix the whites!!! When I asked her why she said it was because my nails grew out. Yeah no sh*t!and she wouldn't paint over the tip saying I would have to replace my set with even more expensive nails. So let me get this straight, they can give you a French pedicure no problem but when you want your tips painted white it's a huge issue. NEVER stepping foot in there again! I hate leaving negative reviews. I really do. It's rare for me. But I must... I had a pedi here about a month ago, and had been coming here for probably 8 years. This pedicure was unlike any I'd had before- they dug at a supposed ingrown nail so aggressively that I was almost in tears! Here I am a month later, and when I showed my husband my toe tonight he sent me to urgent care immediately. It's still super sore, red, and inflamed. I saw a doctor and... it's a staph infection. I am starting a round of antibiotics and if it hasn't improved in a week, I'll have to see a specialist. I am so disappointed in Q Nails right now. Ugh. read more

I was so happy I was able to get an appointment in short notice with this salon. I needed a fix before hosting the holidays. While I appreciated that, I did feel like my appointment went on forever. I asked for a pedicure with gel polish and a removal of my acrylic set and a new gel manicure. The woman who worked on my toes was also in charge of answering the phone and left my chair a few times to handle other business. I had just purchased a book from the across the parking lot Barnes and Noble so no big deal, I kept myself busy, but it did elongate my visit. It wasn't the best manicure I've had but by the end of my appointment, I was just happy I was able to check this off my list. My experience was that the techs who worked on me weren't super chatty (like I said, I had a book so that was likely a signal that I preferred some quiet) and with the craziness of my day, I appreciated that I didn't need to force conversation. If I were in a pinch, I wouldn't write this place off. But it wouldn't be my first choice in the area. read more

I have just recently moved to Burnsville and needed a new mail salon because I'm a little obsessed with getting my acrylics done. Week before I got my nails done at a salon in Wayzata and they were already peeling and falling off (gel) so I decided to give this place a try. I was so pleased. I made an appointment and they kept to the time and got in right as I was scheduled. The staff was nice and smiling, the place was clean and very relaxing. Loved the decor!!! I came to this salon for something new and to try out a different shop. I love the organization of this small salon, and it felt cozy and comfortable. I walked in for a gel manicure, and they got me in right away. I had Mai, and she was very focused and tedious with her work. Although it took a while, she made sure each nail looked perfect and added conversation. I'm super in love with my French gel nails for $35 and would recommend this place! I went in with a full set that I wanted removed. Simple enough. She used the drill to remove the color. She then tries using a cuticle cutter to lift my acrylics off my natural nail! NO! it cracked right down the middle. It almost broke my real nail. I told her the needed to be soaked off. She then tried to charge me an extra $10 to soak. $35 for an uneven shaped gel manicure. I am frequent client at this nail salon over the last couple of years as it is on my way home. The staff is very friendly and the salon has always been clean. The prices are comparable to other salons in the metro. I also like the fact that they don't charge you extra to get gel polish removed before a new manicure. They also add a thinly sliced piece of lemon to the bowl of water you rest your hands in at the beginning of a manicure which I find refreshing and smells great. The location is great if you are a "walk-in type" like myself, if you have to wait barnes and noble, total wine, chipotle and target are all within walking distance. Q Nails short cuts the work and they will Over charge You!!! It's all about quantity and NOT quality here! And I agree with the previous posting that they paint nails well but that's Absolutely it! I once inquired with Aimee about doing an almond shaped pink and white overlay with a pointed pink arch, which I even showed her three images on My IPad... She said she could do it for Me, well I arrive for My appt. and sure enough Aimee doesn't have the proper tool to complete My pink point... So I have a different tech work on My nails. Now as I am in the chair with a different tech, I hear Aimee speaking in her language to My tech in a hostile tone, with attitude out loud... I say to My tech, " Why is she upset, she assured Me she could do My nails a certain way and she can't so why is she complaining@ you?" So it was My fault Aimee lied to Me and claimed she could do a job she most certainly could not??? Yes, they carry themselves in this manner!!! Appalling isn't it... Don't set an appointment cuz they will NOT hold it... I had a 10AM appointment with Lin and@ 10:04 AM, I walk in and she just began someone else's nails! What??? She tells Me twenty minutes... Really?! I leave as this was absolutely Unprofessional! And the Final straw for Me coming here! I had been coming to Q nails once per month every month since 2010 for a full pink and white overlay and am letting you know the service and techs quality has diminished. Spending $100, yes ONE HUNDRED Dollars per visit ($25 just for a tip cuz I appreciate the service industry) for a simple pink and white overlay was justified when Mindy was there. She's been gone over a year and I had been seeing Lin (the chair closest to entrance) for the last year. Nails were okay... I like My nails thinner, more natural looking since I have the length. Never had natural looking nails from Lin, real thick nails where you could see where she filled them in cuz they were hazy white in certain spots. She would always stop My appt. and answer phones, do waxing etc... I stayed cuz genuinely I thought she was sweet and did an okay job. Now I know the process and know better! So now you know how they treat loyal customers and gracious tippers... Went to Epic Nails and saw Ken for a completely new set of pink and white overlay and WOW! His process was clean and efficient! Total cost was only $35!!! He did an acetone soak which Lin NEVER did when I would begin a complete new overlay. She would file them down with her tools (quicker process but not the proper way to remove existing gel) which was why My nails were so thick! Not only do I feel Q nails has been cheating Me for My Bill but they were short cutting on My manicure also! She was charging Me for her incorrect removal and splotchy fills ($75)!!! First time here was just by accident and because it was the first place we saw when we were done shopping in Burnsville. We were very impressed. Most nail places I've been to are not so great. They rush through things and do a crappy job. The ladies at Q nails are professional and take their time. I've given qnails several tries because of the convenient location and friendliness of some of the ladies. They have a few good nail techs and a few not so good. Kim is the manager and will soon have to do everyone's nails due to mess ups from other techs. If you go there at 6 mai throws a fit even though the place is open until 8. Or they try to rush you. The tools are not clean. They reuse everything from person to person. They ask that u get cash because they have to pay fees on the credit card machine. They use old nail polish...they gossip about you in Vietnamese...The price is too high for what it is. I never left for less that $80 plus tip. read more

This is definitely the nicest nail place I've been to in the area. It's very clean, with high ceilings and neutral decor so it doesn't feel cramped like a lot of salons. The staff is always friendly and do a great job, and they even wear matching "uniform" shirts, which I think makes it feel more professional. I had been going to Q nails regularly for about a year and had Amy do my services. She is great. The one star that I'm giving is for her. Once last winter, Amy had an appointment with a customer who came late which then pushed my appointment back. I had been soaking my feet for so long that the water got cold. I was a bit annoyed and Mai who must be the owner or manager asked me if I needed something. I nicely said that I've been sitting here for 25 min. She said that I was free to leave if I wanted to.WHAT? You don't speak like that to a customer. Ok, I was pissed at her rudeness and let Amy know it. Amy apologized to me over and over. I haven't had a pedicure in awhile not for any reason except I haven't made time. I called today and got Mai on the phone. When I asked if I could come tomorrow at 4, she rudely said, and I quote " you're the one calling, I don't know, can you come at 4"? That's it, DONE,! I don't care if she the manager, owner, or former Miss Vietnam, she is one rude bitch. I will never be back. I will tell everyone I know to beware of her and her smart ass ways. I walked in on a summer Friday around 1:00 pm. Immediately, I noticed that it did not have that overwhelming polish/remover smell. I was already happy. I was greeted right away by a welcoming and friendly staff. The facility is nicely decorated too. I opted for the deluxe pedicure ($35) with a design ($5). They performed a thorough, relaxing pedicure complete with a very well-done leg and foot massage (you can rarely say that pedicure massages are well done). The services are competitively priced (with specials M-W). This is one of my favorite nail salons that I will return to. (FYI - this was my first visit.) read more

My friend and I went this past weekend and were very happy with our visit! We were able to walk in, pick our color, and sit together right away. The team was very nice and respectful; all four of us were chatting, relaxed, and having a good time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that my friend did pricked when her cuticles were being worked on, but the manicurist felt badly and was working to make my friend as comfortable as possible. Hands down the worst service I have ever received. I never write poor reviews and rarely talk negative about places, but Q nails treated me absolutely awful. I just wanted a regular manicure and the lady told me that I should do gel or acrylics, I insisted I wanted just the manicure (I work in a hospital so I can't have acrylics or gel) and she rolled her eyes at me. I showed her a picture of an idea of the color I wanted and she rolled her eyes at me again. I wanted glitter tips on my nails with white polish. She very messily put the white polish on and then proceeded to freehand the tips instead of taping them first. The first hand looked awful and I stopped her before she started on the other hand and told her I didn't like the tips. She said "too late." Most places will redo it if it's not what you want so I asked if we could just go without the glitter tips. She then painted OVER the tips with more polish. It was the messiest nail job I have ever had- paint all over my fingers, etc. It truly looked like a child had painted my nails. Absolute waste of money.
