The self order kiosk is easy to figure out for selecting your pizza. The large margarita pizza was tasty & I order the next size up next time. Using olive oil instead of tomato sauce lets the tomatoes & basil stand out on the crispy crust. We were there dining for the Mills fund raiser night. Went today to eat, took 45 mins to get food. Which is not bad for a Friday night, but when the food arrived it was awful. The sandwiches had nothing in them.. I could see bread on each side of the bread. My son's meatball sandwich had slices of meatballs that probably added up to 3 meat balls total for the whole sandwich, was dry with barely any sauce. Asked the staff if the sandwiches looked right because they looked absolutely nothing like the pictures and was told, yep they weight out the meat. I could have gotten a better sandwich at subway and paid half the price! Total $31.90 for these two sandwiches, two bags of chips, and 1 fountain drink. read more

I asked to speak to the on duty manager and I received "Sorry but we don't have a driver available". Total flashback to my early twenties yesterday; remembering the old location in Oak Hill. I used to arrive right around the same time as the Motorola crowd and mingle in so I could get their discount. $5 got you the full buffet spread. Jumping forward to yesterday and the $9 price tag was worth the trip thanks to the fare and some firsts that came about. I instantly hit the pepperoni rolls and the cheese steak stromboli. The rolls haven't changed a bit. The stromboli was delicious; but seemed to be missing a spice that used to make it unbeatable. The pizza was good especially the chicken with garlic and the veggie with thin crust. Salad bar was fresh but the blue cheese dressing could have been better. Now onto the highlights. I've never given little Rooster any kind of pizza. I'm thinking he likes bread and cheese. I started him off with some cheese sticks which he happily ate. He tried but failed to chomp one of the pepperoni rolls. The best part came at the end when I gave him one of the dessert slices. The pie slice covered in cinnamon and sugar with tiny chocolate chips was his first bites of chocolate. With tiny fingers swooping thru the little chips; he had brown goo from cheek to cheek. He then proceeded to scrape the topping right off the crust until he was smiling and happy. Yea Daddy! I honestly thought Double Daves was completely gone; replaced by that rockband tomato place. Wait time was unacceptable. Ordered online for pick up. Confirmation said 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after order and waiting 45 minutes for pizza to to be delivered curbside. I would have been fine with waiting 45 minutes at home and then picking up pizza, but I'm not ok waiting 45 minutes at curbside. Either change your order confirmation message to reflect an accurate wait time or have the order ready within a reasonable time Edit: finally went to pick up window after waiting 45 minutes at curbside. Told it would be about an hour for pizza to be done. When I asked how they could let me sit in the parking lot for 45 minutes without telling me it would be an hour and 45 minute wait - got no answer from cashier except that she wasn't responsible for the technical part of the ordering. As I've now mentioned in a few reviews, my husband went to UT ~15 years ago and in addition to exploring some of the cool new restaurants in town, now that we live here, we are also revisiting his old haunts. Some had delivered, others not so much - this falls in the second category. The prices are really high with zero service, ambiance, etc. The pizza is okay (I do appreciate the fact that they have a gluten-free cauliflower crust option) but have no intention of returning unfortunately. read more

My wife and I have visited this Double Dave's, and received take out on several occasions. Previously the service and food has been excellent, hence the reason we were returning customers. And for the record, the street taco pizza is incredible. Unfortunately, last night our great experiences with Double Dave's ended. When I came home from work yesterday, we agreed that neither one of us felt like cooking, so we decided to order pizza for delivery. In our area, our choices for delivery are limited, but we were excited to order from DD. we placed our online order and waited. I could not believe what we received upon delivery. Of the 2 pizzas we ordered, one was crammed all the way to one side of the box, as if the box had been stood on end with the pizza still in it. I am uploading a photo. I have worked in the service industry in my younger days, and this is a great example of something that will turn me off on a restaurant. I will be a long time before we head back there. read more

We cut Double Dave's some slack during covid when the pepperoni in our pepperoni rolls was almost non-existent. They were basically dry pizza dough. We decided to try the pepperoni rolls again. Same terrible food...there were 4 slices of pepperoni and NO cheese rolled up into a wad of bread. Yuck! The poor quality is the only consistent thing at DD. Describe Your Experience: 1st off, the loyalty program sucks. I have about 2 free pizzas and some rolls saved up. Remembered to use them this time and I was promised a free large pizza but got a credit for large cheese pizza of a little over $16. So had to pay about $7 cause I had the temerity to order large pizza with garlic and three veggies. DD should really review it's Loyalty details to make sure they are conspicuously (not in find print) disclosing terms of the program cause they might be violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I haven't looked at fine print and don't know if unlawful, but in the very least this is dishonest and definitely unfair . 2nd. This is the second time the pizza arrives cold and I live literally five minutes away! Are you kidding me? And don't give me COVID 19 bullshit excuse. We have all adjusted to COVID-19 and they have had nearly a year to work out any kinks. If they want to be an ongoing operation they need to get their shit together and try to at least, very least, deliver a hot pizza. I delivered the same message to their feedback link which was lame and merely took me to homepage where I had to use contact page. You really can't beat half price pizza rolls for a quick and delicious dinner. They don't skimp on quality either. They're huge and delicious every day of the week, whether they are on special or not. Their salads are also good. I always get a chef and it's always excellent, full of toppings. The staff is always incredibly friendly, they're also really fast with their orders, I can place my order and it's always ready by the time I get there. I've never had to wait. They also have a pretty decent beer selection! I've never had a bad experience here, definitely a frequent spot for dinner. read more
