Not only was she rude toward/in front of customer but was rude to her employees and that is NEVER okay We also requested a table table and were told that it wasnt possible(even tho restaurant was empty) but fine it is late at night... then a larger family comes -servers themselves were okay, (mine was acceptional- wish i knew her name!) -menus themselves are a little bit of an eyesore so maybe look ahead of time especially with children -food was pretty tasty! I'm new to the area and was in need of some dinner. Walked in and it was not busy in fact there were all of 10 tables with customers. Was greeted promptly and sat. Roughly 8-minutes went by before anyone or server come to ask if I wanted anything to drink. Another 5-minutes goes by and is asked what will I be having. I got the fisherman's platter and regular cheese burger with onion rings. Let's just say the fisherman's platter was mediocre at best and the cheese burger was less than decent. Oh and the onion rings tasted as if they had been sitting in grease. The place was very quiet given fact it's a Saturday evening and not busy at all. This place is always a hit or miss with me. I think this'll be my last time here. I was there this morning. Got sat pretty quickly. Waitress came quickly, but that's only one of the few times we saw her. She didn't once see if we needed anything like a refill. We had to wait a while to actually get our check. 18% "service" fee was charged on our bill. Service fee... for service we barely got... We're having a late dinner, around 7.30ish, some of the customers just finished and left. We're seat on the left corner near the bar and restrooms area, it was very warm in that corner, probably all the heat accumulated there. It was wet and chilly weather, so the warm inside was perfect. A few moments later, our server came taking orders. We had a delightful chicken pot pie, which come with soup of the day, we chose chicken noodle soup and house of salad which will never showed up if you hadn't remind the server for couple of time. Another entree was Phily Cheesesteak, their subs always delicious as always! We also ordered kid's meal, Jetson's with angel hair noodle. It was a huge portion for kids! Kid's get glass of apple juice this time. Don't forget to ask if you have kids next time. The restrooms are clean as always, and this time the heater work! They conveniently place the menus and complex rules to get the 10% senior discount on display at you wait in line. THE COURSE ++ toast arrives first and on a paper napkin. Butter it so it's ready when your mains arrive. Paper napkin means second slice is not the slightest bit soggy when you get to it. Steam moisture goes to the napkin. Win. We counted six types of butter in the basket. These people are serious about butter. unfortunately, all available jellies and jams are corn syrup-based so meant my toast was definitely savory today. I'm not complaining. The whipped salted butter was awesome. ++ pile o crispy bacon like I've never seen "4 slices". Wow. + home fries with peppers and onions. Fave. I hope Double T to responds, apologizes, and just makes this right because.. yesterday I went to Double T for breakfast, got grits, the big doubt T combo plus sweet potato fries and 2 servers got into a yelling fight twice because 1 server took another servers customer. I couldn't eat because of all the fighting but was willing and wanted to box everything up to eat at my house but then the manager can't over to tell me if I'm getting it for take out I'll be Upcharges for taking 4 butters (the small containers) and 2 syrup containers. She was privy to what happens to the waiters because they were yelling to her which was behind me and acted like she didn't know any of it when my server talked to her. While the deserts are good, the food itself is not up to par, in my opinion. I went for brunch and dinner, and unfortunately, both times, the food was bland and lacked substance. The eggs were dry and overcooked, while the panini I had for dinner was bland. I wasn't expecting a Michelin star-styled breakie and dinner. I went with two friends during lunchtime when it wasn't too busy. Ordered simple food, like pancakes and eggs. The server barely interacted with us and it took us almost 10 minutes to wave him down just to get our check. Once I got the check, I was forced to pay an 18% gratuity fee that was automatically put on my check. There was no sign saying that a party of three required to pay an automatic gratuity fee. This was my first time coming to visiting this establishment and I was with some family who grew up in the area in the 80s and 90s to give credence to how familiar they are to this place. It's a local staple that has been around and has some solid staples that hey you just can't go wrong with. By definition it's a diner right? So the staff up front were friendly when we entered and greeted us promptly. They are still being smart about the Covid 19 guidelines in how guests are seated. This was very much appreciated. As a Covid survivor I truly appreciate it. On to our server, Mr. Alex was a cool guy. He was relatable even in moments when he was swamped with tables. The four of us were pretty jovial and not too demanding, however a few in my party are the class clown type and you may need to know us to be ok with the humor. Alex was a real one and we liked him. I have to comment on my father in law's steak. It was cooked "just right" according to him. I wish that I had gotten a picture because I did want to ask for a piece. I myself had the 2 pan fried pork chops per Alex's suggestion and indeed it too was delicious. My partner and brother in law had the crab stuffed shrimp and steak combo situation and a different steak, respectively but they just ate. Pops and I enjoyed ours fully. We try to come here every year as part of our anniversary tradition. Sadly we will probably find a replacement. The food we ordered tonight ranged from so-so to terrible. My gyro was just ok, kinda cold and the greek salad was pretty old with the greens wilted. My fries were also cold. My wife's spaghetti was sour. Either the sauce was bad, or they threw in something that did not mix. The garlic toast was also bad, with a nasty after taste. My family and I went here last night for my birthday dinner. We were seated right away, given menus and water, and left to peruse the huge menus for a little while. Our server was Mr. Moe, and he was absolutely wonderful! He took our order without writing any of it down, and there were eight of us, mind you, and he remembered everything perfectly! I ordered the open faced meatloaf sandwich, which came with potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, and a cup of soup. I asked for the chicken rice soup and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't actually rice in the soup, but orzo. The sandwich was yummy, but everything was way too much food to eat in one sitting, especially since I wanted dessert so half of it went home in a box. For dessert. I had the chocolate eclair and it was amazing. If you haven't seen the Double T's pastry case, you are missing out on a true delight. My two sons in law, both had burgers, which were huge! They were both very satisfied. One of my daughters got the beef stroganoff, which was much more than she could eat, but she gave it her best! The other daughter simply ordered some french fries with gravy because she also wanted dessert. Her dessert was the carrot cake and she said it was fabulous. My three grandsons were with us, ranging in age from 10 to 13, so you know they can be very picky. One got a cheeseburger and fries which he was happy with and the other two who are the super picky ones both ordered breakfast. One got the paradise pancakes which were huge pancakes with bananas and strawberries on top. The last grandson got the apple cinnamon pancakes. Again a huge, huge portion. They were given Syrup, butter, and a can of whipped cream to put on top of their pancakes! They raved about their pancakes! Mr. Moe was very attentive, and checked on us frequently, brought me coffee to have with my eclair, and simply treated us like VIPs. I've liked this place. My only negative was a sticky table once that was taken care of immediately. My goto is the Pastrami Ruben and fries. But if I want a burger theirs is it. Three months ago it was "bangin'"...this morning it was Below Mediocre. Got the turkey sausage, which was still good...scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese--ask for shelled eggs-- waffle was spongy and served with Smuckers syrup, home fries - weren't at home and a small fruit cup was not fresh. The water tasted funny and I'm a water queen! That said, the coffe was bad. They must of used their water. Now to the check. A 15% svc charge is added to the check from 10pm to 6 am. Went there today, mid afternoon getting a take out. I ordered the western omelette platter. I got home & looked at this so-called western omelette & well, let's asy they left a few ingredients out of the omemete, meat wise that is. The food is great the servers are great and very attentive, but on the bill the restaurant automatically adds 15% gratuity to the final bill. I think that gratuity should be given by the patron not automatically entered it made my bill go up by 7 dollars. Also they need to fix the open hole/ missing tile in the mens bathroom and one of the automatic paper towel dispensers was not working. Stopped in here on Sunday afternoon for brunch as I was leaving Maryland. This place was packed, but moved quickly. As a party of 2, we were told 10-15 minutes, but ended up being seated a minute later. As far as decor and service, this is a typical diner that you'd find in the north eastern part of the country, so it did not disappoint. I got the three meat omelet and homefries. Everything was delicious, especially the sausage in the omelet. I notice sausage was on the majority of the plates in the diner, so I know it's not just me. Two gripes: 1- cheese is extra and I find that odd because what's an omelet without cheese? 2- there were some undercooked parts of my omelet, which always skeeves me out. Have you ever paid 15.52 for 2 eggs, a piece of ham, dry toast, and backyard coffee?! One egg = 0.25c, ham= 0.35c, toast =0.20c, coffee = mud If my math is correct, that is about 1900% profit to have someone fry 2 eggs and just bring it to you. What is the reason for that kind of inflation? The menu here is designed to steal, so you better read the fine print. Better yet, bring your lawyer to help you. The waiter rushes you soon as you sit down so you really don't have time to read it. It's like you are expected to know what you want before you enter the door. I just came here to have some coffee and eggs. The menu is so scammy that I feelt tricked into paying a bill of 15.52 for 2 eggs and a cup of coffee. I am so upset at being ripped off I really don't want to pay a tip, but I know I will. All I can do is grind my teeth as I sit here writing this. I hate being tricked and cheated. The other sad thing is all I see here are retired people all probably struggling on a budget, half of which probably can't read the menu's fine print. The Double T Diner in Catonsville Maryland was a delightful surprise! Classic diner characteristic, lots of chrome, booths with the classic diner jukeboxes boxes and counter space. Not as classic was a small bar, an endless counter of sweets, and an extensive menu. The crab ball appetizer was amazing! They were far better than any crab cake I've had. The pork chops with Marsala were superb. The carrot cake and strawberry shortcake is excellent. The portions are very generous and reasonably priced. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. It is sad how the quality of this Double T Diner has fallen over the past decade or so, and it is a microcosm of the simultaneous decay of Catonsville in general. I still have fond memories from my youth of hanging out at this Double T after sporting events or in the late night hour, but the glory days are long gone. I've patronized this location twice this year, and the food has been inedible both times. I won't be back for a third. I generally get breakfast food, the literal bread and butter of any diner, but poor old Catonsville Double T can't even make an omelet right these days. As others have noted, the kitchen often forgets ingredients, and whatever they do put on the plate has no flavor. The toast is derived from stale bread. The coffee is so weak that to call it "bean juice" would be generous. I need to check out the Ellicott City location to see if it has similarly degraded. read more

I'm a total fan of this Double-T restaurant. Not all Double-T's are not created equal. I consider myself a diner fiend. I seek them out, always looking for new experiences. This comes from growing up in New Jersey where we literally have a diner on every corner. Service, A-1, top notch. Food quality is classic diner quality. Onion rings are batter dipped and pretty darn good. I am a real fan of their Philly Cheese steak. I also really love and enjoy their burgers. Specifically, the The Hangover Burger with Fried Egg, Bacon & American Cheese. It's a big burger but not sloppy. I really dislike any food that is sloppy. Also, if you ask for hot fries you get them. I think that hot food it so important. Nothing worse than heat lamp fries. Our servers always give us great service. They bring plenty of beverage refills with out asking. They have great deserts which, rotate on an ongoing basis. Everything is baked in house and fresh. Only peeve I have is splitting checks. And I understand why. In order to make sure everyone pay on their portion the cashier will split them at checkout. A 15% service charge will be added to all checks over $30.00. Between the hours of 11:00 pm and 6:00 am,a 15% service charge will be added to all checks. I don't mind this since there are a lot of cheap people out there. I often like to tip in the 20-25%.
