This was hands-down the worst Chinese food I've ever been served, and that's saying something. We literally left every dish untouched on the table and walked out. The chow mein was an insult to the name. No soft noodles, no bean sprouts, no flavor. Just slimy, lifeless strands that tasted like absolutely nothing. Not fresh. Not savory. Just wrong. The orange chicken was essentially chicken-shaped cornstarch. No real texture, no balance of sweet or tangy, just fried filler pretending to be food. The rice tasted old and dried out, like it had been cooked hours earlier and reheated without care. Stale, clumpy, and completely unappetizing. We're new to the area, and honestly it's shocking that this passes as acceptable. If this is what locals tolerate, that's disappointing in itself. Panda Express, a fast-food chain, is more authentic and far more edible than whatever this was. I will never return, and I genuinely don't understand how anyone sits down and eats this. read more

There are only a couple Chinese restaurant options in Sandy. Of them, let's just say Double Dragon would be my backup. I stopped to order takeout with my mom recently. The interior is dated but clean. There isn't a great space to wait for a takeout order so we sat at the bar, but it kind of felt like we were in the way. There aren't a ton of vegetarian options, though we were able to get some tofu dishes, veggie dishes, egg foo young, and almond cookies. Overall we felt like it was alright. Nothing was quite as flavorful as we wanted, portions were a little smaller than we hoped, prices were a little higher than we'd like... overall, just alright. read more

We got kung pao chicken, general Tao chicken and sweet and sour shrimp with crab puffs. Everything was bland and almost tasted the same. They put the sauce together for the general tao and the shrimp. Other Chinese places have them separate. We missed the other Chinese place in Sandy. That's real, authentic Chinese food. My family (party of 8) went here in Christmas Eve about 5:30. The restaurant was super busy, mostly with takeout orders (a few parties were eating in) & only one young lady was waiting tables! She was amazing! We had to wait awhile for our orders, but we didn't mind because she was working so hard! Bless her heart she kept apologizing to us that we had to wait! We ordered take out from here on June 26th. Only to find what looked like a literal pubic hair in the bottom of my husband's pork fried rice container. He called to let them know and the lady just started arguing with him. Since we live close by we decided to go in and show her. She continued to argue with him for over 3 minutes including telling him he wastes food! I recorded the entire interaction. A coworker then pointed out the hair mixed into the last bit of rice to her and she then apologized and refunded are money. As we were leaving one of the cooks were standing at the kitchen backdoor smoking around what appeared to be food bags and buckets in the kitchen. The week after Golden Key gave me dried out and old food, I decided to try this company and they did exactly the same thing. I ordered just after noon, figuring they'd have fresh food, and I could not have been more mistaken. I ended up throwing most of it away. I never thought I'd find myself in the position of pushing people toward a franchise like Panda Express but, in my area, they have been consistently better than these others. If they take that as an insult, maybe they should look at the quality of food they are giving customers. read more

Although the Mongolian beef was delicious, it lacked its signature fried rice noodles. And on the actual pork fried rice itself, it more resembled Spanish rice, missing the mirepoix & peas , & egg , we expect in a traditional American Chinese restaurant. It seems as though the food was scooped to go, rather than being cooked with freshness and care. This type of food is easy to prepare and execute properly. It's apparent to me that the vision of this double dragon is pulling the wool over their customers & feeding them sub par, pre cooked items that could have been prepared in a better fashion. I don't have a problem with this long time restaurant in Sandy. We have been many times over the years and it is always the same. You know what you are getting no matter what you order. It isn't likely to change but it's consistent and always open. I like the hot and sour soup and usually add parts of my order to it to make it more interesting. This is not fancy Chinese food but it's fresh and hot. You can ask for chili paste if you like things spicy. We get a dinner special for two and have enough for a second meal the next day. The eggrolls were not crispy but soft and they tore open when I picked them up. Whenever my husband and I travel we like to explore both "famous" restaurants, those popular with locals and tourist, but also the hole in the wall ma' and pa' establishments. The Double Dragon qualifies as a hole in the wall. When you walk it you realize it was a Denny's type restaurant turned Chinese. The new owners didn't do much in the way of reorganizing or getting new seating and tables. Instead the Asian theme is conveyed through the painting on the walls and glass type flower pots throughout the table dividers. The decor could use a lot of help but hey they make their point. We weren't starving and ended up ordering the Won Ton soup and their combo #1 which consist of pork chow mein, pork fried rice and egg foo yung. The soup had tons of veggies which I really enjoyed. The dumplings were a tad undercooked but they were very sizable which is a rarity with other places. The broth was tasty and well seasoned. The combo, was very good. The egg foo yung was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...just right. The gravy was not too thick and not runny either just perfect, as well as not too salty which often happens at other places. The pork chow mein was nice and crispy without being undercooked. As for the rice it too was flavorful and delicious. The service was good not exceptional but the prices were very very reasonable...cheap in other words. I love good food for cheap prizes!! Pros: If you're looking for AMERICAN-Chinese food, this is the place to go. Lots of options from fried shrimp to a mixed stir-fry (called the Happy Family) to even cheeseburgers & fries, surprisingly. If you're trying to eat healthy, shy away from the fried foods. House specials daily & combo specials are an option, too (if you get the special for 2 or more, you get 4-5 different dishes that leaves a TON of left-overs for only $10/person). The service is very friendly & preparation of food to table is speedy. I just went in and ordered food to go, and there was no cooking just boxing up stuff that was already pre made, I sat and watched them. nothing hot, just warm.. it may be ok for others but I insist on really hot food with stream coming from it.
