Double Dragon - Worst customer service. Girl moody and half asleep. Get up to take order, not a smile or a thank you and goes straight back to sleep - Chinese Near Me - Houston, Texas

This place steals money from you debit card and credit themselves a tip and there food was so terrible the honey crispsy chicken was

I am SO picky when it comes to Chinese food, and this little hole in the wall place is my favorite! I am a huge stickler when it comes to consistency of chicken and my biggest complaint in about 99% of Chinese restaurants is that the chicken pieces are big, soft, and mushy. But not here, the pieces are small and have a nice crisp on them. My favorite thing I've tried so far is the BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN!!!! Yum. The prices are amazing. They have great lunch combos and dinner combos. The portion sizes are great also. My boyfriend can EAT, a lot, and he couldn't even finish it all and said it was a great sized portion. If you go right when they open or in the middle of the day it can smell like bleach inside, but don't let that scare you off. The food is amazing and, hey, at least you know it's clean!!!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I haven't tried a lot of things on the menu and I tried a boba tea drink and it was pretty horrible :( and I LOVE boba tea. I think it was the magic coffee tea with tapioca. And the tapioca balls weren't cooked correctly. So just go somewhere else if you want that! read more

Now this is Chinese food made to order. My family has only done delivery and carry out from here, but it's all we'll ever order Chinese from. Shrimp fried rice itself is worth close to five-stars. It's more saffron-tasting than it is fried, which tastes a lot healthier than what your used to. Beef and broccoli, spicy cashew chicken, and sweet and sour chicken (with a hefty order of crab puffs) keeps us returning customers. The cool thing is that if you spend $20 or more, you get a free entree. Their service is always friendly and they are prompt to deliver. Just *make sure* they bring along your chili oil sauce if requested. Double and even triple confirm over the phone! read more

double dragon is no wheres where it used to be. The food is horrific, the service is an absolute disgrace, and the prices are exaggerated for the meal size and taste. I have been going to Double Dragon since my kids who are now young men were literally children like 8,6 & 4! Their food was amazing i loved their chicken fried rice, lo mein and gerneral chows chicken it WAS FINGER LICKING GOOD! Now I rate it a 0 out of 10 the rice is cooked now in what is light, medium or dark neither is good it's just simply sucks! I do not recommend this place time to find a different Chinese restaurant! read more

Cute little place. Been twice, tried 4 meals and 2 appetizers. Favorites so far: pork dumplings and sesame beef. You get a generous portion of fried beef strips in a tasty sauce. Will be back for more of that! Generally clean, fast, busy (especially with takeout), and the staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend a try. read more

GREAT! Good portion size for tofu and seafood. Great taste the fried rice could be better it's just sautéed rice and soy sauce no meat or veggies but I ordered the -Kung pao tofu -lemon shrimp -shrimp w/lobster sauce -crab cheese ragoons -egg rolls -veggie lo mein ALL BOMB read more

So, I had a certificate to try this out. My mom and I went. I ordered the Happy family dinner combo and my ma got Tofu ma go, or something like that. We got fried rice, it was not cooked enough, so kind tough chewy. The meat was a bit over done. The tofu was alright, not warm enough. The food came out very quickly. The service girls should be a bit more attentive, they only came when I did a hand signal, even for them to come get the bill with the card. It was a disappointment for a local Chinese spot. I won't be back, but appreciate the certificate to try read more

Drove 8 miles to pick up order. Order completely wrong when opened at home. Order was to be steamed and was fried and soggy to boot. Dont order from this place read more

Not impressed. My son loves their Crab Puffs and had a hankering for some Chinese food the other night, so we ordered from here. Kung Pao chicken was good. Beef and Broccoli was good. Chicken Fried rice - that we paid extra for - consisted of white rice with soy sauce (see attached picture). Egg rolls were smaller than average and smaller than other Chinese places in the area. My husband said his Hot and Sour soup was more like Jello. Not a win for us. There are better places in the area. We won't waste our time or money here. read more

We use to love it here we would order at minimum twice a month, then the quality decreased so we quit going. We decided to try it again last Sunday and it was to die for!!!!! Everything was incredibly fresh hot and tender! Not to mention we can always substitute our rice with Lo mein for a small up charge. Will definitely be going back again often! The best way I can describe the taste of the food here is to tell you that I think this food is made by Germans. And these German folks have only ever viewed, not eaten, Chinese food before. The dishes look correct but nothing we ordered tasted the way any Chinese food we've ever had before. and yes I do agree there is plenty of variation from restaurant to restaurant coming to all the dishes. read more

I always order the orange chicken. Pricing is very affordable, especially with the large portions considered.

Where do I start the people who answer the phone are the rudest, management is horrible and hangs up when you are voicing a concern, the food is constantly messed up and when they are supposed to place notes under your number they refuse. I've been ordering from this restaurant for 8 years and at first they were great. Food was always good but as of the last year they have horrible customer service, the food is under cooked and cold and it's just all together a horrible experience, the restaurant itself is not the cleanest either and the restrooms smell like straight pee. I will never order from this restaurant again. I would like to give 0 stars read more

Portions are huge. Service is top notch and ready when you get there. My goto dish is Hunan shrimp just the right amount of spice. Their spring rolls are awesome. Especially with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Oh yeah! My fiancé gets the sesame chicken. She can only eat half of it, there's so much. She likes to have it for lunch the next day. read more

Order from here often. Prices are fair. Food is good and delivery is fast. This is our go-to for delivery.

We ate here a few weeks ago to try it out. The food was fine. Nothing special, but adequate Americanized Chinese food. They had a little girl, maybe 3 years old, wandering loose in the restaurant. She kept coming over to our table and hovering around, and it made us uncomfortable having an unsupervised child there. That isn't safe! But we figured we'd usually get food delivered from then on, which should eliminate the random kid problem. We ordered food for delivery last night. It took a while to get there, but I understand it was a busy Saturday night. When I opened the bag, I realized they had shorted us a wonton soup. The soup was one of the reasons we'd ordered, since my husband was feeling a bit under the weather. I called the restaurant and they didn't seem concerned. They said they could give us a credit towards our next order. I told them I wasn't sure there would be a "next order," given their indifference toward their mistake and general lack of customer service. Then they said they could deliver the soup, but it would take another hour. I said that was fine and we'd be waiting. In the meantime, we decided to eat the rest of our meals. Our sesame chicken was very dry and overcooked, and just didn't taste good - nothing like when we ate at the restaurant. My egg drop soup was lukewarm. The crab puffs and egg rolls were fine, but we just kind of picked at our entrees. And of course, they never sent our other soup. We will never call or eat at Double Dragon again. We have a lot of choices for Chinese food in this area, so I'll spend my money with people who actually care about quality and customer service. read more

So, we got one of those flyers on our door and decided to give them a try. We actually ordered from there pretty regularly because their food is pretty good. We pretty much always order the same thing from Chinese restaurants and they have some pretty tasty things, but some other things that could be better. Pros: They have delicious crab wontons that have that sweet taste in the crab/cream cheese stuffing Their general tso's chicken is really good Their fried rice is really well seasoned Cons: Their green beans are not the greatest They are really, really skimpy on meat in everything - The best way I can describe the pepper steak is like when we make greens or beans and we throw in a little bacon or salt meat to add a little extra flavor. Well, the pepper steak is like a bunch of bell peppers and onions with a little steak thrown in for flavor. The general tso's chicken dinner comes with like 6 pieces of chicken and their combo rice has very little (both in size and quantity) meat thrown in. This is really disappointing to say the least. They're charging about the same price as their competitors, but it kinda seems like their cheating their customers by skimping on ingredients. read more

Some of the dishes are smaller portions than near by competitors, but I can recommend certain items that are really good. I think the best thing here is the Black Pepper Chicken. Other places have this dish but they just don't make it the same way. It is a bit sweet but I love the taste. It might not be for everyone because it is served with big chunks of crunchy onions & bell peppers, but I'm a fan. Also the Fried Chicken wings are amazing. The egg rolls are also pretty good. It is rite outside of my neighborhood so I more am a customer due to pure convenience, when I don't feel like waiting for delivery or driving in big circle and dealing with rush hour traffic to jump across 529. read more

I was really excited when I got the marketing pamphlet on my front door that there was a Chinese restaurant in Katy that actually served Bourbon chicken. I was like whaaaaaaaaat. The food did not disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't quite the bourbon flavor tthatI'm used to, eating Chinese food at the mall which I love but it still was solid and tasted very well cooked. I will definitely be back to try their lunch special and be able to make a more well-rounded assessment of this restaurant. read more

This is one of, if not the, best Chinese delivery restaurant I've ever been to. My wife for the General Tao chicken. It was delish! I got the chicken lo mein. Both were very fresh and flavorful! The generals chicken was the best quality chicken I've had from a Chinese restaurant. Highly recommend! We will continue to eat here! Edit: My wife claims the bubble tea was amazing! read more

The young lady that answered the phone was extremely rude!!!!! I was trying to explain my order and she kept screaming as if she couldn't understand. Not only that when I got there there was no "Hello" "Thank you" or nothing. Manors and no respect. I could tell this was a spoiled child and she will be the down fall of this business is they don't remove her from that position and perhaps put her in something more suitable like busboy. read more

By far the best Chinese food in the area, but stick to delivery. They do let you eat-in but the restaurant is zero atmosphere and only really serves to get you in and out. It's small and hardly anyone is ever in there. They obviously make their cash on delivery. Delivery people fly in and out the door the entire time you are there if you dine in. Dirt cheap if you show up during lunch and grab something off the lunch menu!! Stand-out dishes? Garlic Chicken, the house special fried rice, Mongolian Beef, General Tso's Chicken and suprisingly enough, they serve up an awesome take on Pad Thai. read more

Note: since this restaurant seems to have 2 pages, I am reposting my review to this one, too. I have passed this place for years, thinking maybe I should give it a try. I should have kept passing. The food is AWFUL. I was served a "soup" that had to have been assembled moments before with a spoonful of frozen veggies (still frozen I suspect, as the mess was only lukewarm ) with a chopped up fake crab stick and some canned chicken broth. And it was just as good tasting as you'd expect from the ingredient list. Husband got some sweet and sour dish that had chicken, shrimp and pork. We THINK the shrimp ones were the ones that seemed to have a tail. It was hard to say, as going on taste got us nowhere . I got shrimp with snowpeas. It tasted...old...reheated, though not much, as it wasn't really warm either. Even the rice is of poor quality. Pass by this place and keep on going. read more

I. AM. A. FAN. OF. CHINESE. TAKEOUT. I love the fantastic tupperware worthy takeout dishes they send your food in. I love the assortment of fortune cookies they send so you can pick through them and decide on the one that will assign your latest fate. I love the spread of dishes that lasts for at least 3 dinners/lunches between my husband and I. I love it even more when it's delicious and with my previous favorite takeout place dwindling in quality, we decided it was time to branch out and try our other options. Having just received a menu/flyer tacked to the door of our house, it seemed natural, we order from Double Dragon. Pick-up order was ready in 15 min. and it went down. Honey Crispy Chicken, Chicken Lo-Mein and Tangy Spicy Chicken with an order of Egg Rolls (2/order) came to about $26 a MUCH better price than what I'm used to. I had read the reviews before hand (and again, my fellow Yelpers were right) the egg rolls were really small but they were tasty. Probably the best part of the whole meal though. All of the dishes were mushy, too soft, like baby food texture. Honey Crispy Chicken- too soft and it was nearly all breading. Nothing about the dish was crispy and I didn't really get a taste of honey Tangy Spicy Chicken- was decent, flavored with jalapenos and some red chiles, a non-breaded dish which I would keep on my list of go to dishes in the event I need to order from this place again Chicken Lo Mein- the lo mein is a staple order for me but certainly not everyone gets it right. In this case, the flavor was good but the noodles were overcooked. Too mushy and I couldn't overlook it despite the flavor being good. Boooo. . . . . Another boooo. . . . no teriyaki chicken!! This is the second place within delivery distance of my house that doesn't serve teriyaki chicken!!! This is just crazy to me but I sort of expected it. So in summary: Food was flavorful but too mushy to really enjoy Egg rolls were small (skinny and shorter) Oooooo and as a last burn. . . . no sweet & sour sauce in our to-go bag!!! read more

On my quest to find the best Chinese Food delivery in my area, I keep coming back to this one. I find it interesting they sometimes use jalapenos instead of red peppers to make things spicy. I love jalapenos though, so I don't mind. What I have ordered that was note-worthy: Tangy Spicy Chicken - it came with broccoli, carrots, and snow peas. It came with I believe two more but I left them out. (onions?) It was alright, but I wouldn't order it again. General Tso's Chicken - my Aunt's favorite. There were jalapenos, but it still tasted like Chinese food and it was good. Szechuan Dumpling Appetizer - Steamed Dumplings in what I can only describe as a peanuty Szechuan sauce. OHMY! These were awesome! I definitely recommend adding some of these babies to every order. Yum! Mongolian Beef - It was your average mid grade Mongolian Beef. Nothing special. Special Wonton Soup - I expected other meat, shrimp, and some veggies, but I didn't expect broccoli (Is that normal?) It was tasty, but I took the broccoli out to eat separately. Pork Pan-Fried Dumplings - The best I've had in the Cypress area so far! I was a glutton and ended up drinking the last teaspoon of the soy/sesame dipping sauce right out of the cup. Shh! I am kind of annoyed with them that they didn't add my $2.00 coupon after I mentioned it. Oh well, it happens. ~ Tahiti read more

Only used it for delivery so far. The food was excellent, prepared well and in good quantities. The egg rolls were in spring roll wrappers, which was a nice change of pace. They were lighter and smaller. My only complaint is the delivery was slow, and they did not provide enough fortune cookies or soy sauce with the delivery. My new favorite is the beef and asparagus. Looks like this is our new chinese delivery restaurant. read more

We love the food from here but when my mother called she got an extremely rude person on the phone. My mother was confused to what she kept saying regarding the meals and she kept raising her voice at her. I had to grab the phone and ask why she was being rude. She said she kept trying to tell my mother that the vegetable spring rolls she was asking for didnt come in 5 pieces like my mother had asked for but instead 2 or 4. While I understood that part, i informed her that it was NO reason for her to be screaming at my mother like that and she was being extremely rude. Customer service needs to be worked on, especially when the person that calls just want to get information regarding the meals. read more

Pineapple Chicken is our fav! But ask them to cook your veggies "well done," last time they were raw and sauced!! Yuck! Slow down ppl! Mango slush used to be so much better, tastes like flavored ice this time!! Great crab puffs and their veggie lo mein is great! We ordered takeout recently and were unhappy with their recommended Pepper Steak, it had No taste! Not a bad taste, just strangely no flavor. Seems like all their beef is an odd meat..and weird cuts and coloring too. read more

Double Dragon - The décor - Chinese Near Me - Houston, Texas

Never been into the location, only had delivery from there about 5 times. It has become my go to chinese delivery. In fact, when I get chinese food with friends I always judge "their" choice against Double Dragon. The food is delicious. I've never had a bad dish. The Black Pepper Chicken is amazeballs, and that's the first time I've ever used that word. The egg rolls are perfect, and the crust doesn't crack and flake apart into a mess when you break them in half or bite into them. Food always arrives VERY hot, and the driver is courteous. I love this place, and I have serious commitment issues. read more

They have great food, and for delivery HAD been our #1 choice. The reason I gave them 2 stars was because of the terrible service we were given when we decided to go there and eat in. It was lunch hour and we brought our 3 kids. The woman was hardly kind. We ordered waters and she only brought us 2 for the 5 of us. We had to ask her twice for more water before we got it. When she brought the food she only gave us 3 rolls of silverware.. Seriously? Either you are trying to be as little polite as possible or you are extremely stupid. At the end of our meal they didn't even give us fourtune cookies or say thank you/goodbye. We have 3 young kids who's favorite part is the fourtune cookie, what kid isn't excited to get one? It felt more like they didn't want us there. We were very dissapointed that our favorite chinese delivery turnned out to be a terrible restraunt. We will not be returning cusomers. At least there is another chinese place across the street, with great service and good food. It's a shame they have such poor customer service, no wonder they had to add smothies to their menu... read more

We just moved to the area, and I ordered dinner for delivery based on the positive reviews already written. I was definitely not disappointed. The crab rangoon was some of the best I've ever had, and the portion was generous for the price. The shrimp in my shrimp with garlic sauce were huge, and even the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice were a nice medium size, relative to the extra tiny ones I have come to expect. Egg rolls were good, if smaller than expected, but the texture made up for the size. My wife ordered teriyaki chicken, as she is a picky eater, and enjoyed it as well. Delivery took under 20 minutes, and the delivery guy was very courteous as previously mentioned. Will order here again! read more

Ordered typical favorites...sweet n sour pork, pepper steak, and shrimp fried rice. Delivery arrived quickly. The food is meh. Don't expect service with a smile. Their sweet and sour sauce is very runny; the consistency of cheap pancake syrup. The shrimp fried rice is not very appetizing to look at. Way too much brown sauce, not enough bean sprout or egg. Cheap cuts of meat in the pepper steak. But even with all this, like I said it's a decent meal delivered to your door. read more

This is our go to for Chinese delivery even though there are at least 3 closer to us. Our regular order consists of pork fried rice, boneless pork bbq with extra sauce and sweet and sour delight. A mixture of chicken, pork and shrimp. Oh and the special rolls are good too. Delivery is almost always on the fast side rather than late. Once tried eating in, place didn't appeal much and took way longer than if I would have had it delivered. As someone said, typical Americanized Chinese food. If you're looking for authentic flavor, go to China town. read more

Great for takeout. The interior has recently been remodeled and we will probably eat in soon. Always friendly....usually call in order in the way home and it is very seldom more than 10 minutes before it's ready. When I call from home it ready to go when I arrive. Sweet and sour chicken, Kung Pao chicken and crab rangoons are fantastic. Egg rolls seem freshly made and all the rice dishes taste great. They also do a booming delivery service for local orders, I believe that the minimum order is only $12.00. So, whether it's delivery, eat in or to go you won't be disappointed. read more
