Kung pao beef to go lunch
    Scott S.

Nice lunch menu with good quality fresh food and well worth the price. I ordered the kung pao beef with hot and sour soup, egg roll and rice to go all for less than $10. Food was prepared to order and took only about five minutes for a walk-in order. It was all very tasty. Ambiance is basic and unpretentious and staff is professional and competent. Meals come with choice of white or fried rice and choice of soup. To go orders are well packaged.

I ventured into this restaurant again, after returning to the area from 5 years prior. Much to my surprise, the menu featured Sweet & Sour Shrimp. I had a very bad experience, trying this menu item from another Chinese Restaurant, so I came extremely skeptical. I took the plunge,, and went for it, ordering the Sweet & Sour Shrimp, with Steamed Rice, and The Crab Puffs (Rangoon). I placed my order in-store as Take Out. Quick, with less than a Ten Minute Wait. Total Price $19 and some change. The Shrimp rendered enough breading, but didn't overpower the fact of the Shrimp being the Headliner of the Show. Crispy and Fresh. The Crab Rangoon (8), excellent, with a nice bid of stuffing for the consumer. I'm very pleased with my experience today, and will Definitely return.

have been ordering from Double Dragon for years, and yet when I order elsewhere, I'm always disappointed. No one does it as good as Double Dragon!! Best Chinese in this zip code!!

This was my second time eating from here! The 1st i wasn't impressed! So we ordered from here again not remembering we had it before and again was not impressed! The egg rolls are spring rolls and my wonton soup looked and tasted as it was a day old and my crispy honey chicken looked like the batter was undercooked and not crispy at all!!! It was so soggy that the batter was sliding off and it was too much sauce which made it soggy and my fried rice was dry and had no flavor at all! It actually didn't taste like it was fried at all! I did call to complain and was told i can come pick up another order of the same thing! It was delivered so why should i have to pick it up? Plus why would i want the same thing again? I didn't even eat my 1st order! I literally waisted my money oh and my son didnt like his food so 40 dollars went down the drain! Never again!

If you like take out this place is right up your alley. I ordered for dine in and got everything take out; plates, bowls, utensils and even cups. The fried rice was bland, no flavor at all. The beef with broccoli had a sauce on it. The egg rolls were spring rolls. Egg drop soup was in a small 8 oz container and was hotter than the fires of hell. Potions are very small. And there were roaches in the bathroom...

General tso chicken, chicken lo Mein and hot sour soup

Surprisingly, all 3 of my boys were craving Chinese food. As they were visiting me from out of town, I felt that it was in my best interest, to give in to their cravings. They opted for Double Dragon, as they have had their general Tso chicken and orange chicken before, and absolutely loved it. This time around, they were repeats offenders too. We ordered 2 orange chicken combos, one general tso chicken combo and an order of chicken lo mein. The dinner combos are standard. They come with an order of soup, an eggroll and rice. We ordered our general tso chicken and orange chickens with plain rice, hot n sour soup and eggrolls. As far as taste, the chickens were fine. Had a nice sweet sugary, tangy touch to them. They came with a few broccoli in them. Kids loved the sauce of the dish, and were mixing it good with the rice. Egg rolls were pretty good too, although very greasy. I have had better hot n sour soup and Double Dragon's was ok. It didn't have that fiery kick to it and was more water down. There are plenty of items on the combo menu, which is available for lunch and dinner. Plus they have their non combo menu, and chef specialty items. Nice selection of choices. As I did not dine in, I cannot comment on their in house service. Will I return? Absolutely! but its gonna be carry out every time.

Excellent portions ordered the Orange Chicken, and Chicken fried rice. Both were good. Placing my order was easy and my food was ready on time.

Seafood boils (of course), fried platters, Chinese food, creole, and more i forgot to name. I was overwhelmed by what to order in a good way because everything sounded delicious. Our whole table got the Boudin Balls, Fried catfish platter, and the Combo 2, which was crab legs, potato, corn, and shrimps. The boil was delicious, I love a juicy spicy flavorful boil, and bby that was definitely that. they did they big one on everything. it was well seasoned and very good. im definitely going back cause they ate down.

Some friends had the ceviche oysters that I didn't try but it looked like pico on oysters. The calamari app was good lots of parm and thicker breading, different than most. I had the dirty rice and it wasn't my favorite, tasted like I make at home but with thicker chunks of celery that threw me off, flavor was good though. Had the garlic parm wings flats which came wet which I was excited for but the skin kept separating from the wing, the meat was good. My friends got the crawfish which looks bomb if your into crawfish and the fixing. Service was really good, top notch atmosphere so I would go back and just get something different. Give it a try

We were asked about our drinks, ordered them and a dozen raw oysters. Server came back and took our order. Got the snow crabs with potato and sausage with the house seasoning that the server recommended. Also got 2 pounds of shrimp (paid extra for heads off) and the server made it seem like the heat level on the hottest was ghost pepper, next level up being habanero and then hot. Asked if we could sample the sauce and told no as they make each one individually. Being weary of blowing our tongues out we opted for less heat. Oysters came and they were a decent size. I had to ask for some crackers & horse radish, which what was brought to me was way more than one person would ever consume (no charge). Food came and I'm waiting on a bucket to toss my shells in. Finally had to ask and I was told that most people just put it on the table hence the tables being covered. The sauce on my crab was WAY too sweet. The heat level was too mild and the crab itself was hard to get out the shell. I asked for some melted butter and was told I would be charged for it. Overall I left still wanting more which isn't my usual. However I can say been there done that.

Same curved counter, same stainless, same red shirts - and the same man in the cap and beard shucking my oysters, one perfect shell at a time. This place isn't fancy. It's Texas honest. A grounded ship ringed in sun-bleached shells, loud with beer, laughter, and knives hitting the hinge. Folks pack in - oil hands, students, suits - because here, money doesn't decide taste. If you want the Gulf, you come. The oysters are what the Gulf does better than anyone will admit: big, briny, and unapologetic. Pacific and Australian oysters are refined - polite, even. Ours carry warm salt, mineral depth, and a little river memory. They don't whisper; they speak Texas. Menu says a dozen; you get thirteen. That's not a promotion. That's culture. The Michelada? Many places pour a decent one. I won't judge. But drop a fat Gulf oyster in the glass and the drink wears its crown - the way Houstonians know it should. Fried catfish here sets a bar most won't clear: cornmeal crisp, clean-sweet flesh, no mud, no funk. In this part of the country--Texas and our neighbors in Arkansas - we don't just eat catfish; we raise it right and fry it right. That's geography, craft, and pride. Frog legs snap at the joint and stay tender at heart - quiet Southern luxury. Gumbo is Texas gumbo - thicker, smokier, steady. Not Cajun, not Creole; ours. Skip it and your body will notice. Nineteen years ago I had my first Michelada here. Nineteen years later, it's still the best - and that same shucker in the cap is still running the line like time never learned his name. This isn't nostalgia. It's continuity. This isn't "seafood night." It's Houston - served raw, hot, and true. And for anyone wondering, yes - whoever you are, if you want the real thing, you'll end up here. - Dr. C Born elsewhere. Refined by Texas salt & smoke.
