Blueberry special

Service was great! Everyone was really friendly and made our order quickly. Coffee flavors were unique and I would come back to try their many different teas. Seems like a good place to study since there was no background music playing, but also had a relaxed feel good for conversation. It is a vegan restaurant so they have milk alternatives like oat, almond, and soy.

I remember when Doshi House first opened back when I was in undergrad. So shoutout to them for longevity. Parking is still a challenge here. Its limited and mostly unsaved. The inside has ample seating and there is am outdoor covered seating area if you can tolerate the heat. I arrived right at 8am when theh opened so I was happy that they were actually ready ti take my order immediately. I ordered the potato and egg taco with a corn tortilla. Omg was it tiny but tasty! I didn't know what to expect but it was a flavor explosion of taste in my mouth! Soo good it was heavy on the chimmichuri, spice and flavor perfection. I do wish it were bigger though. Its definitely street taco size. I also ordered a regular latte with oat milk. And yes it was excellent too! The espresso to oatmilk ratio was perfection! I love that this place is plant based so all the choices are likely vegan! This place gives very chile vibes and provides a great place to study or get some work done. They also highlight local artist and businesses.

Kbbq Taco Mumbai Masala Sandwich Gingersnap Chai

This place was such a fun find! It's a plant based coffee shop with calm vibes inside. We wandered in for a morning breakfast and were not disappointed. We got a gingersnap chai (SO GOOD), a mumbai sandwich, and a kbbq taco. The food was pretty good, I'm not sure what flavor profile I expected w the kbbq taco but nonetheless it tasted good! The coffeeshop itself is quite calm inside, the employees have a fun vibe, and it seems like such a good place to cowork. They were all sold out of the pastries but I'm excited to go back earlier in the morning one day try them. I do wish they had a larger stock though.

Super cute place here in 3rd ward! I got a Doshi Signature Latte, the pistachio latte. As you can see, I spilled it before trying it, and the barista was really nice about it and remade my drink. The coffee was pretty good, however a bit too creamy for me since I had to get oat milk (they offer vegan options only and were out of almond). I'm a whole milk girl through and through, so if you don't really like the textures or tastes of milk alternatives, don't come here.

I've finally found a coffee shop that has offers consistently good coffee and great customer service. I've visited several times and everyone is extremely friendly and inviting. My favorite drink is a Cortado with oat milk the espresso reminds me or raw cacao beans it's really intense and I love it. I'm not much of a latte person because I enjoy tasting my espresso. With that being said I do like the chai latte. They offer various baked goods that rotate so you can discover new things but my vice is the salt rosemary focaccia! I love the outdoor area the coffee shop itself is just inviting. 10/10 recommends a visit to Doshi house

Three bean chili

I used to come here all the time back in 2015-2016, and then I moved to Austin and forgot about this place when I moved back! A friend suggested it recently and I was so excited to try it out. I remember loving this place! A lot has changed, it's more spacious than I recall, and the menu is now entirely plant based, I do remember it was very vegetarian friendly but if I recall correctly before they did serve regular whole milk, so it was a bit of a change. I don't mind plant based at all- but my fave plant based milks are coconut or pistachio milk. Almond/ soy/ oat are just too watery and I don't like the taste. For a place that's plant based they didn't have much in the way of options, my friend ordered before me and has the almond milk London Fog, and when I went to order they had ran out of almond milk. It was 10:30am on a Saturday so a bit early to run out. They only had soy to offer me, no thanks. I went with their water based hibiscus drink instead. They had a special of the day which was a three bean chili, served with focaccia. My friend and I both ordered a serving each. When it came out, it was not served with the bread. My friend and I were chatting away and thought it's fine we'll wait as we were catching up anyways. Well after about 15 minutes she went and asked for the bread, and was told oh whoops, okay let us get that for you. It took another 15 minutes to get her bread, so 30 minutes after it was served and her chili was cold. Meanwhile, I was still waiting for my serving. I finally asked and the main barista mentioned she noticed I hadn't received my food and that she's asked in the kitchen and apparently they've also ran out of chili. I do understand these things happen, it was pretty appalling that they chose to do nothing about it until I had to ask after my food and the delay. They offered my alternatives, and given that wait and delay, I wasn't willing to risk it. I had a hard stop, so I asked for a refund which they granted promptly. I don't understand how or why their service was so poor, it's not like they're new, and again it was so early in the day to be running out of food and milk. I don't think I'll be coming back which is disappointing given the fond memories I had of this place.

BBQ Korean taco

We were in Houston for a relaxing vacation and had this coffee shop on our list ahead of time since we're vegan and wanted a solid spot for coffee and a light breakfast. We ended up going twice--and both visits were great. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the coffee and food were spot-on. My wife had the hot pistachio latte (with a perfect little swan on top), and I had it iced--both were creamy, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. She ordered the Mumbai Sandwich, which the staff described as a deconstructed samosa--it didn't disappoint. Incredible flavor that kept you coming back for another bite. I went for the BBQ Korean taco, and it was so good I ordered a second one the next day. With so many vegan spots in Houston closing lately, this locally owned gem deserves all the support it can get. Here's hoping they're around for another 12 years!

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming and creative -- cozy seating, eclectic art, and a vibe that makes you want to linger with a good book or a friend. The coffee is consistently excellent, with rich flavors and thoughtful preparation. I especially love their lattes (perfectly balanced, not too sweet), and the chai is a must-try if you're looking for something comforting. What sets Doshi House apart is the community feel. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive, and you can tell they care about creating a space that's more than just a coffee shop. It's a hub for conversation, relaxation, and inspiration. The food menu is another highlight -- fresh, plant-forward options that are both delicious and nourishing. Whether you're grabbing breakfast tacos or one of their curated smoothies, everything tastes homemade and crafted with care. If you're near midtown, third ward or the university area of Houston and want a spot that blends great coffee, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere, Doshi House should be at the top of your list.

Pistachio Latte

DOSHI House is a restaurant I would visit everyday. The carnivore in me would be so upset with me if I had a chef who could prepare vegan dishes like this. The vibe is calming and eclectic. The service was quick and friendly. I need a place like this in my life in Concord, NC

Pistachio latte - 8.5/10 - Soo good and flavorful, had crushed pistachios mixed in Matcha w lavender and vanilla - 9.5/10 - One of the best ceremonial matchas ive had, the lavender and vanilla added a nice sweetness without overpowering the matcha Potato and egg taco - 8.5/10 - Very tasty and flavorful, slightly spicy too Korean bbq - 9.5/10 - Delicious, this was plant based but tasted so much like meat lol Pumpkin chai muffin - 8.5/10 - Tasted like fall in a muffin, lightly sweet and really good Salted chocolate chip - 7.5/10 - I like the flavor but the cookie itself was too hard This was one of the most unique coffee shops ive been to with everything 100% plant based. They focus on bringing the community together and even have private spaces to rent out or work in. Their coffee is roasted in house which i loved. They also sell to-go coffee tins and freshly brewed chai. Definitely recommend stopping by here if youre in the area!

Doshi House is an H-town favorite for my wife and I! We are all over this city, let alone the world. It's always a pleasant comfort hanging out at Doshi House for some coffee, tea, and good healthy grub. Thank you all for working so hard everyday and for all that you do! A nice cozy place to get work done or just mingle in a nice centralized locale of Houston.

5/5 Jackfruit Chick'n 3/5 Korean BBQ I have heard a lot about this vegetarian friendly coffee shop and finally got the chance to check it out! I got 2 tacos on my visit and the jackfruit chick'n was a big surprise! It was flavorful and tender. However, the korean BBQ taco left me a little disappointed. While it was still flavorful, it tasted overly salty to me, which is a common challenge of imitating meat dishes not unique to here. Also the pistachio latte here is also delicious! There is plenty of indoor seating but also a HUGE outdoor patio that I can't wait to check out in the fall.

Jackfruit Taco & Potato Quinoa Taco with Hibiscus Tea
Christine N.

Was a quaint little coffee shop. I went there because it kept popping up for Vegetarian lunch, which this year, since I am doing this 'vegan on the weekdays' jam I need more veg options while I perambulate the streets of Houston. There aren't many options, I saw more on the reviews prior with a more expanded menu, but today it was just a selection of 4 tacos so I chose two. The tacos were okay. The Hibiscus tea was hibiscus tea. The spot was diverse, many people knew each other, seemed like a go-to spot for the neighborhood. Services was limited to behind the counter. Not sure I would drive across town to return but if I were hungry and happened to be in 3 mile radius, I would return to see if the other items on the menu return ie the sandwiches and flatbreads.

Is it quite enough to work there? And does it have good internet?

Does this place serve sandwiches? I see them in the pictures but not on the menu on their website.

Hi Riddhi. We used to have those menu items Pre-Covid, but we have it switched up right now. We have vegan tacos available on the current menu.

Have these guys opened back up yet after the water leak?

The oat latte my friend got was creamy, well balanced and wonderful. We got the eggs, sausage, and cheese taco, chicken gumbo empanada, and the beef empanada and each one was delicious. Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.
