The break room that I usually frequent always has tons of pink boxes maybe like 4 or 6 at a time like one day out of the week, nearly every week for all the early bird workers. So I get to sample a new donut choice each week and try all the different variety of donuts being offered at the store. One donut a week, self control (tempting). But I do prefer the sugar and icing/sprinkles donuts the most. But sometimes I do stop by the store for the Sanka coffee and donut holes before I am off to where I was going. I really do like their donuts here and I would rate them at a 5 BUT the customer service here is terrible. I walk into the store and the owner and/or workers seem as if they don't want customers there. Am I buying donuts from their own personal stash? What's with the bad vibes? Are they upset that I pay with cash to avoid the 4% fee which they never ever mention? Also, when they do decide to greet you, they make no eye contact and never smile. If you're looking for rude service and being stared down by an employee as a paying customer then this establishment is for you. It really is disappointing especially in the service industry that a cashier transaction is silent. The cashier rang me up without saying a word to me. Punched in the total and just stared at me to pay up. Didn't even try to tell me the total. I ended up looking at the register for the total and handed the cashier my money. Took my money and handed me change with a stare down. No thank you or acknowledgement for my business. The cashier then proceeded to walk away with a side eye. As a customer I really don't feel comfortable supporting a business who treats their customers like this. There's plenty of MOCHI DONUT establishments which are a lot more friendly that will be happy for paying customers. Secondly, the establishment has a huge sign at the door that customers are required to wear a mask. I had my mask on but the employee had their mask down their chin. Don't expect your customers to abide to your store guidelines if you can't keep a standard with your own staff to keep your customers safe. Last, for $2.50 for one mochi donut, your donuts better be on the level of Mochi Nut or Friendly donuts. The matcha mochi donut was tough in texture and has super hard to chew thru. The cinnamon sugar mochi donut had no flavor. We normally go to a donut shop we found but wanted to switch it up and to see if there were any other ones comparable. We found this place in a Vons plaza near a car wash. We walked in around 7:30pm and to our surprise, there were a lot of donuts still in stock. We saw that they had a dozen deal so we got a dozen. We didn't know that the "special" ones didn't count in the deal so we paid extra for them but the lady felt bad so she gave us two extra ones to make up for it. read more

I really like this place and go here constantly for donuts but today I decided to go for a muffin and while peeling off the wrapper I noticed that the inside of it have some some gooey grayish/brown stuff. I've been trying to figure out what is was for the last 5 minutes. I thought it might've been a banana that was not mushed all the way but then I realized that wouldn't make any sense. I'm going to head there right now to see if they know what this is. The muffin before I noticed the stuff inside was good though. Although the edges were hard as a rock, as if they haven't been moved from their spot. Tbh the gooey stuff up close looks like cooked meat. Update: I went to the front desk and the woman behind the desk said it was a banana. I wasn't so sure but she offered me a new muffin and I looked inside and the same thing was in there as well. Donut tree is one of my favorite donut spots to eat at because the donuts are pretty good and it's in my neighborhood. However, after all the years of coming to Donut tree I was really disappointed with the service. This morning, I bought a maple bar donut and a raspberry jelly filled donut. The maple bar was delicious as always but the jelly donut was rancid. The jelly had this sour acidic taste like it had gone bad, which is understandable that mistakes can happen. However, I called twice and left once message on the voicemail at 11 am and I didn't get a reply back from anyone all day. I also walked in to the donut store to tell them of my experience but the old man working in the night shift kind of gave me an attitude me an attitude but I asking me in a rude and non-aggressive manner, "so what do you want me to do about it?" As I shook my head and walked towards the exit, I told him "don't worry about it". He sarcastically tried asking me "do you want your dollar back?" The dough of the blueberry donuts were similar to old fashioned cake donuts except they were small and round - about the size of the palm of my hand. The cake was glazed had a slightly sweet and delicate flakey, crispy, crunch to them. With just the right amount of sweetness, these donuts were packed full of blueberries. They're best warm but are also good when they cool. The service was very friendly and attentive. Plus they're open 24 hours and accept credit cards. HOW ABOUT THAT? Don't worry it is the effects of the sugar rush combined with a mild heart attack. Just finish the pastry...the world will resume balance shortly. Coffee is constantly fresh. A few nights a week there is a group of guys playing chess, most other evenings students studying post Starbucks close.
