The lot is HUGE. Staff is business-like. Staff seemed very robotic and frazzled from the nonstop customers. Staff appeared almost annoyed when I asked questions about the donuts. On ambiance, US Donuts (La Puente) is... bad. The place feels neglected. The tables are very sticky; the floors look dirty; and most of the area is dimly lit. There's even a sad broken ATM machine with a taped messy sign saying, "Out of Order." Overall, US Donuts (La Puente) is not bad. Most of the places around here have bagel sandwichs in the $10 and up range. I just wanted something affordable and quick. Located in a shopping plaza, it's a small mom and pop run by family. I ended up finding that they have breakfast burritos pre-made in the shelves. There was a ham, chorizo, or combo option. I chose combo and it was decent size for under $10, they even warmed it up for me and provided a couple containers of salsa. It was loaded with potatoes and the proteins, overall good flavor and not too salty. I would go back to get a quick bite again if I'm craving it. The Hubs and I were in the area and I was having some major cravings for some ham and cheese croissants. A friend of mine had told me about this place before but I never gotten the chance to check it out so, today was the day. They're located in the corner of the plaza, tons of parking and easy to spot. This place looks like they make everything from scratch which is always a plus for me and they have such variety that you can't just get one thing it makes you want to try a piece of everything they have. I wished I could of gotten a dozen of their donuts cuz they looked so fresh and fluffy.. but since we were running some errands I didn't want it to melt in the car. Got two of their jalapeños ham and cheese croissants.. and mahhhhgowwwdd they're aren't cheap on the meat, cheese or jalapeños.. they literally stuff their croissants! With each bite I was able to get a piece of ham, cheese and jalapeños. Most donut shops will just roll their ham and cheese and put like 2-3 slices of jalapeño in the center so it's not distributed evenly. So if you're looking for a stuffed croissant that's delicious and fluffy this is your spot. I usually try a new place after looking at the reviews and hope what was said holds true. In this case, everything that was said is absolutely true. Perhaps even a bit understated. It was a Saturday morning and I had just got out from a 2 week stay in the hospital and I was craving donuts. Unbeknownst to me was that my local Krispy Kreme was undergoing renovations and was closed. So I looked at yelp for another possible place to satisfy my craving. The posts for US Donuts were all positive so I gave it a shot. How this place is a tiny hole in the wall corner store in an ancient run down strip mall. But as I approached the door, I saw that there was actually a line out the door. Good sign. So I got in line and waited. Luckily the person in front of me was kind enough to explain what was good. And man, everything was good. I ordered a half dozen mixed along with their breakfast sandwiches which are to die for. I mean they were still moist by the time I got home. I had ordered 3 different sandwiches, a croissant and 2 panini breakfast sandwiches. All good. The donuts were amazing. The store knew it was my first visit and even secretly gave me an extra donut. It was a blueberry muffin. Donut. OMG it was amazing. Truly it was the fluffiest, most moist donut I've ever had. Double thumbs up a yes for this place. I only come here for one thing and you should too, the ham and cheese croissants. The croissants are exceptional and they are only $2.50. The croissant crust is always flaky and they serve it up hot. I should also highlight the fact that the coffee served here is decent. Be aware, US donuts does have a C rating but I am sometimes biased to the things I like. This place makes up for their average rating in customer service. The asian women who work here are very nice, speak spanish, and know exactly who they are catering to. The people who come here are either waiting for the bus, live near the area or unemployed and reading the paper. US Donuts is located in a small shopping center and accesible via valley blvd. The donuts here are okay, not bad. They aren't exceptional but the service is pretty good. Every time that I've been here, the ladies are always extremely friendly and helpful. I bought donuts and ham&cheese crossaints from here frequently as a kid. I lived in the area for many years and I was never disappointed. However, that was before I knew what the big "C" letter on the window meant. The location isn't so great. It's near Hurley Elementary, an old car wash, and a bunch of run-down apartment complexes.
