After reading several reviews on yelp, I was hesitant to try this place. However, we happened to be driving by so we decided to stop. We just ordered a cheese tamale and a pork tamale. We were disappointed with the pork tamale. It was dry and not flavorful. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the cheese tamale. It was actually better than expected. I would go back for another cheese tamale!

    Last minute wedding cake.

I was tasked with finding a last minute wedding cake for my nephew. Luckily, LP bakery was able to accommodate. I went in with really no design other than maybe flowers and "just married" sign. The signage (Haylei & Nicolas) I had created myself thinking the cake would be simple but when I picked up the cake; it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. The taste of the cake was really what sealed the deal; I received really good compliments. They don't do marble flavoring bread so to say, so I had them do a chocolate bread cake and vanilla cake layered with chocolate mousse. I definitely think this will be my go to place from now on. Thank you LP Bakery.

I showed them two pictures of what I wanted and they did just exactly what my daughter wanted for her birthday. As always their cakes are delicious. Not too sweet and fruit is fresh!!! Everyone loved the cake!! I have been coming to this bakery for over 20 years and they always deliver in presentation and taste!!!

We ordered a dozen tamales it was 75% masa. The masa had no flavor It smelled bad with a freezer taste, really disappointing. Our was 12 tamales and 5 cookies over 40$. Garbage!

    Slice of Chocolate Cake

I was really craving a slice of chocolate cake and finally found this place after hitting a couple other places that didn't have it. I finally found my slice of chocolate cake for $3.75 here. The chocolate cake really hit the spot. It was super moist and very rich. I don't have a major sweet tooth though, so the piece of cake was enough for 2 servings for me. The name here can be a bit misleading because the sign at the storefront actually says "Pasteleria Y Panaderia". They have an extensive menu, from pastries to subs, menudo, tamales, and a lot more Mexican food items. This place is a lot more than just a bakery, you can have a whole meal here. Service was very quick. I was in and out within a couple minutes. The person there wasn't necessarily inviting though; it kind of felt like she wanted to get us out as soon as possible. Regardless though, I know where to go now if I'm ever craving some cake again.

My favorite panadería to visit! the pan dulce is a bit more expensive compared to Vallarta (by $0.30 cents) but I think it is absolutely worth it as the pan dulce at LP Bakery is often way larger and fresher, I've never had an issue when coming here and getting quality bakery items with quick service. Will always be my favorite!

Lately (especially since one of their family members had an unfortunate accident), it's been frustrating to try to get anything: they don't make the butterflies every week, and I've made 4 trips to over the past month and a half and only succeeded in getting anything at all on one occasion. First trip was mid-January. Turns out that was the first day they had reduced hours because of the injury and I was there an hour after they closed. Second trip (about a month later): they didn't have butterflies until the week after. Third trip the following week: I forgot about the family member who was out (or maybe I thought they'd be back because that's how we do), so I artived after close again. Fourth trip: finally got the goods! Was it worth it? The almond cookies were good, but the butterflies were a bit flat and not airy, like they were just deep-fried wonton skins with thickened sugar syrup on them. Both times (out of 4 attempts!) I actually caught them when they were open (granted, I'm an early afternoon person, not an early morning one), there were only 1 or 2 cakes in the case, a bunch of bags of cookies, and, on the one successful visit, I got the last order of butterflies. Haven't had their strawberry cake in years (that first trip was for my birthday cake, womp womp), but they look the same. Moral of the story: get there early or be disappointed...or just drive to Chinatown.

My partner loved the coconut flavor (even though I'm not usually a coconut fan), and after trying it myself, I have to admit it was really good. The coconut paired so well with the coffee, and the cold foam was perfectly creamy and added so much to the overall flavor. The name of the shop itself is really cool and the soccer theme was a nice touch. They had soccer cleats displayed and a game playing on the TV, which added to the vibe. We didn't spend too much time inside, but there was plenty of seating and it looked really comfortable. It was fairly busy, which made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. I also noticed they had community events planned for the holidays, which I thought was really nice. Overall, I'd definitely come back.
