I have been coming to this bakery since I was a toddler! It was the place we would always get our pan frances for all the fiestas. It was the place where we would come to pick up a quesadilla to have in time for desayuno at home on the weekend. It was the place to get the cola champan de botellas and un pan de semita for dessert. It is such a staple with my upbringing. 'Til this day, the man there is the person I remember since I was a kid. Whenever I do get that urge for some Salvi pan, this is my go to since it's so conveniently located. It's a quaint little bakery. On weekends if you go in the morning, you will see a handful of people eating desayuno there, platos tipicos. Very reminsicent of El Salvador. Much of the reason this place has been there for so many decades is because of the community it serves. It may not be the prettiest or boujee of bakeries, but it def has the sabor de El Salvador. read more

We've supported this bakery for years, and the quesadillas salvadoreñas are usually a go-to for my family. Unfortunately, today I found both a hair and an eggshell in my quesadilla. I wanted to share this here so management is aware of what's happening in the kitchen and can tighten up hygiene and prep checks. We really hope this was just a one-off mistake! read more

Sonia's Bakery has been a local fixture for over 30 years. We have been coming here since before we were married, a very long time. You can find local favorites like a delicious concha, the bulls eyes(this is the round red one with coconut), the empanada de pina, mansana, and pumpkin. They specialize in tamales, cheese bread(this is a sweet bread) and other foods from El Salvador. I am not sure if Sonia is still with or owns the bakery but the flavors haven't changed. Thank you for making all my yummy favorites. read more

Customer service is horrible, i've been here many times with my mom and they always make mean comments towards us and have a mad look on their face! just today one of the lady's that work there called "fat" i'm sorry it's supposed to a job where your supposed to be professional why are you calling your customers names, food is good but the lady there is horrible at customer service, they need to learn how to respect and treat their customers better. read more

I've been coming to this place for years and the cakes and pan dulce are always good.

I like their customer service and bread, the pastries are delicious, I definitely recommend you to try it.

If you are ever craving Salvadoran pastries on this side of the town roll on over. Semita, torta de llema, marcesote, Salvi breakfast. Salvi cheese and sour cream. Neapolitans Salvaducci style. Great service. Typical Hispanic bakery and cafe with all the great pastries and food to buy. read more

If your wanting that amiable smile that comes with having delicious pan dulce and fresh coffee this bakery does it .It has become my go to bakery every time any day of the week read more

The owner of the place acts like he is doing a favor to the community. He needs to greet his customers with a smile and ask politely how he is able to help them. His lack of humility drives people away. Just because he has a lot customers doesn't mean he is doing great. His business could be better with better service. read more

This is based on my visit on Monday 1/4/2021. I got there and this lady didn't have her mask on and she was talking and touching everything and NO EMPLOYEE shit even the owner cause he was there told her anything. Normally they keep the "pan frances" the bolillo inside where they to serve it to you however this time it was in the front and the lady was getting some and just talking all over the bread. I told the girl why did they allow her to do that and got the heck out of there. The owner and employees need to really be more mindful and tell people to put their mask or get out, why risk getting people sick I will not be going there any more and told my parents not to eat anything from there anymore. read more

The people who are saying these are some of the best quesadillas they have tasted do not know authentic Salvadorian sweet bread, baked by grandmothers and aunts. The quesadillas are uneventful, like any plain sweet bread, they do not have that strong cheese/cream/cinnamon flavor. I also believe they're made with wheat flour and not rice flour as they are authentically made in El Salvador. I tried the loroco Pupusas, they are average at best. The platano empanadas, average at best. The service is not friendly and/or grateful for new business. The establishment has a B grade and for the sake of those that eat there, I hope that is due to the super unorganized nature of the establishment and not due to unsanitary conditions, which may very well be possible. The small eating area is dirty and unwelcoming. I believe people after being away from their home country for years just put up with any subpar imitations, and those that were not even born there just don't know any better. read more

Delicious, freshly baked pan dulce! This is my family's neighborhood Latino bakery and they definitely make some good sweet bread. All m family enjoys their pan dulce con un vaso de leche o un cafecito. Just got some this morning. Yum! They also have other Central American desserts and foods. And the pasteles, including de tres leches is pretty good! read more

Went in on Saturday, due to its reviews. They made me such an amazingly tasting Tres Leches Cake in about 30 minutes! It was so light and perfect. My mother who hates sweets said the cake was soo good, she wanted more. We haven't had a cake taste that good in such a long time. Highly recommended this place. It's great! read more

Five stars for great bolillos! Always fresh, warm, and delicious. Two stars for cleanliness and one star for absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. The worst! Rude, apathetic, and indifferent to the customer experience. Me thinks ol' Sonia needs some retraining on Customer Service 101. We've been coming here since maybe the 80's. Back in the 70's and 80's the go to Mexican Bakery was La Flor de Jalisco on Hacienda. They were the best! Lately, La Flor is La wilting! Then along came ol' Sonia's and we went back and forth to suit our needs. I moved on up like George and Weezy but my parents still live in the area (same house since 1965) and you can't get good bolillos where I live so we frequent La Sonia for the bread only. I put up with the poor customer service for the family since we all like the bread. My mom? She says La Sonia can go to Hades (that's not the word she uses, lol) since ol' Sonia treated her badly on more than one occasion. We just don't tell her where we got the bread! read more

So I wanted to get a Tres Leches cake for my friend who just had a baby. I figure it's a good celebration cake. I make a pretty killer one myself, but I needed one in a few hours. So after looking on Yelp, I found that this place is close. I was happy to find this place. For $20 bucks for their "small" cake, the cake was delicious and there was a ton of strawberries in the middle. This cake could easily feed 10-15 depending on slice size. I'll be back should I need another cake in a pinch... read more

I ordered a tres leches cake on pretty short notice (day before), and they had it ready as promised the next morning. Nicely decorated too :) The cake was good, I just wish the milks were more evenly saturated throughout the cake- some parts were moist and others dry. read more

I love all their breads.. Taste just like the one baked back in central america. Good place to buy cake bread and goods.

Best place to get salvadorean bread for all my salvo people in the neighborhood. The tamales are delicious. People are nice.

Love, Love, Love this place! The peperechas, quesadillas (not Mexican), relampagos, *pan Frances* (my favorite in the whole world), and of course the tamales (not Mexican). Can't stop hugging myself!! This place makes me feel so complete :-). People who see it for the first time will probably be extremely critical of the location, esthetics, and poor lighting/decorating inside but please do not judge a book by its cover. This place is a gift to all us mortals! For once foster the perception of quality food without aggravating yourself over the appearance of the structure. read more

By far the best bread I've ever had because the bread is always warm and fresh. The bread is warm like my mother's love and is soft like a cloud. Best of all is the customer service, they make it feel like you're family. read more

I've been coming to this place for over 10 years. Every time there is a birthday or an occasion that calls for cake this is the place we get it from! BEST TRES LECHES, hands down. The cake is moist and they're generous with the fruit. They also have delicious pan dulce and pan frances. In addition, they make delicious pupusas! The same people have been running this place since I've been going. My family members even drive from Los Angeles to get cakes from here. The location isn't the greatest and the decorations may be an eye sore BUT the taste of their products cannot be outdone. read more

I would first come here with my grandmother since it was at a walking distance to her home. Bread is always fresh, soft and tasty! and the best part, all at a good cost. Recently I had been coming here for pupusas, I always get the mixed one with beans, cheese and this type of meat, delicious! My mom always gets the fried banana with beans, egg, and sour cream. Even though I had been coming here for years I have not yet tried their cakes. read more
